LOVED this show... it was one of my favorites! This is really how I remember Dave Coulier. Full House was just the show that came AFTER "Out of Control."
What was so different about Out of Control was because while most Nick shows are mostly about kids in school, the main characters in that show were all adults doing kid friendly humor.
I don't recall this airing in the 90's. It was sometime in the mid 80's, years before Full House ever aired. The reason I recall this is becuase I rember watching T.G.I.F. the first time it ever premiered on Television, and I immediately recognized uncle Joey as the guy from Out of Control.
I loved this show back in the day and watched literally every episode hundreds of times, lol. The actor who played Hern did a great interview years ago stating Nick was the network that Out of Control built given how the show's template was used to develop kid friendly cable based programming. He laughed at how low budget the show was and how the cast went to thrift stores to get their wardrobes, LMAO!
actually You Can't Do That On Television was the show that built Nickelodeon. A shame that they still use the slime today but never give credit for the show.
@@cainster Out of Control was the first original produced show on Nick by Nick. You Can't Do That On Television came from their Canadian partner and it became a huge hit here in the states. It started in 1979 and Nick started producing newer episodes in 1981 for their network. The original YCDTOTV had music artists and didn't rely so much on slime, water, and pies, when Nick revamped it, it became the grossy sloppy mess we all loved. Christine McGlade talks about the show in how I can always tell who was an OG Nick watcher when they recognize her and she's like wow, we're parents now and in some cases grandparents, lol.
@@GSU2004 I said YCDTOTV and I stand by it, because while Out of Control may have been the first original show, it was the green slime from YCDTOTV that made Nickelodeon "famous". They milked that sucka so much, even had that giant slime fountain outside their studio and even TODAY at their slowly dying Kids Choice Awards they STILL slime people. OOC may have been their first show but they built their reputation and money (cash) on the green slime from YCDTOTV.
I remember watchining this in the late 80's like in 88 or 89. I didnt get why Dave looked different than he did on full house. Now that I know that this show is from 84, it all makes sense
Shaun Keating 35 years, oh my goodness! That’s when Dave Coulier voiced Animal from Muppet Babies and before he voiced Peter Venkman on The Real Ghostbusters and plays Joey on Full House. Fascinating.
It has been ages since I’ve seen any episode of the show, so I vaguely remember anything. But I always knew the Dave Coulier was underrated as a comedian. A lot of his cartoon character impressions are dead-on, especially Popeye and Elmer Fudd.
"That's how I start the show, I mean, that's how the announcer starts the show." Lol. I think I used to wonder who was talking at the start of each show, it all makes sense now.
I was an 80s kid but I never really watched this show. I always found something else to do when it came on. Watching it now and remembering the 80s as a kid….weird.
diz is like...cyndi lauper + lucille ball + ted "theodore" logan + pee wee herman. is it weird that i kind of want to know what Indianapolis Jones and the Bikini of Doom is about?
Oh my god, the commercials. How many of you remember that damn String Racer? 😂 I look at it now and think "How on earth did we think that would get more than one use out of it?"
That opening reminds me of the Fiddler On The Roof song 'Tevye's Dream' where actor Zero Mostel, who was believed to be Tevye, said 'All right--now don't be frightened!' Out Of Control was recorded in 1984, not the 90's. Only about 26 shows were ever made--how ironic!
I *REALLY* Loved Dave when i was like.. 2, 3, 4 and so on. but when he was on Full House i started not to like him as much, cause i felt like he was just a bit TOO corny, unlike how he acted in this show. but Diz however, i still ADORE her to this day. i mean, i don't dislike Dave anymore, but i just think he could have toned it down a bit in Full House, acted more like he did in this show i guess? this show was always a Hidden Gem in my humble opinion. it only got one season for Gods sake.
I used to watch "You can't do that on television" when i was a kid but didnt realize Alanis morissette was in that show. Then I found out that she wrote that song about uncle Joey. Didnt know they dated. Then found out that he was on nick?
This show gave me nightmares as a kid. One of the pig characters from Richard Scarey's Busy World books came to life and started throwing rotten fruit and vegetables at the actors. I don't know why but the very idea terrified me as a kid.
If you grew up in the 80s you had the coolest childhood.
But man I feel old now 😂
Happened quickly
I'm shocked at how much of this I remember after...oh, about 35 years or more. I remembered things I didn't even know I forgot!
I thought the same thing! The Nickelodeon intro at the beginning!
Wow!!! Haven't seen this show in years, so many childhood memories. Oh the good days after school watching Nickelodeon.
Who else is a Nickelodeon kid like me ? I never watched Disney , my parents didnt want to pay for it lmaooo
Definitely me! They need to revive Finders Keepers, at least I think they need to. What do you think?
LOVED this show... it was one of my favorites! This is really how I remember Dave Coulier. Full House was just the show that came AFTER "Out of Control."
OriJanelle J I was a Nickelodeon kid like CRAZY!!!!
Right here!!!
This show cracked me up, my favorite show.
Absolutely, I still remember when Marc Summers was hosting them moving to Nickelodeon studios in Florida from a train.
I miss being an 80s kid, the entertainment was so imaginative
This is ahead of it's time.
MAN!!!! I remember Out of Control REAL well!!!!
What was so different about Out of Control was because while most Nick shows are mostly about kids in school, the main characters in that show were all adults doing kid friendly humor.
Loved this show! The 80s were the BEST nothing else compares! OMG take me back!!
Give me a Mesozoic Mind!
All that Crack and aids.
Before he was uncle Joey. Watched this everyday

Me too!!
Yup. He's really funny on this show. Uncle Joey was pretty lame, I thought
Wow...I never realized how young Dave Coulier was on this show. He's barely out of high school!
Uhhh, what? When this aired he was or is really close to 30 years old...
@@bobloblaw8622 He was 25.

I CRACKED UP watching this a child. Still do.
This where Dave coulier got his start long before he was cast in the full house sitcom
Classic classic, I used to watch this all the time
Man it’s crazy y when random things pop into your memory. I loved this show
Dave Coulier was much slimmer back then.
"Cameras need sunshine too!" But there's no sunshine in the video.
Dave was a kid back then lol.
I remember watching this as a kid... awesome stuff
as a child of the 80s i have to say shows back then just hit different
The commercials are included too!!
This brings back memories!
Thanks for uploading this great TV series!
Out of Control originally aired on Nickelodeon in 1984-85.
Shaun Keating 35 years, oh my goodness! That’s when Dave Coulier voiced Animal from Muppet Babies and before he voiced Peter Venkman on The Real Ghostbusters and plays Joey on Full House. Fascinating.
I loved this show.
First produced show.
The whole series needs a DVD release
@@ChrisXperince There really should be!
I used to LOVE coming home from school and watching this!!! I also enjoyed seeing Dave when he was on Full House.
Original season air date; 1984-85.
I loved this show when I was a kid. I always wondered if it was available to watch somewhere.
Dizz was always my favorite!
If cyndi Lauper were a tv host. .
Do you guys remember a show called Not Necessarily The News? Is that the news portion of this show?!
I loved this show back in the day
Release history:
1984-1991 Nickelodeon
1993 Nickelodeon
Cut it out
I worked at Nick briefly bc of how much I loved it as a kid!!
Anybody else see what that spelled at 16:40?
Yes 😆!!! I was like.... wait.... back that up... pause🤣🤣🤣🤣
It has been ages since I’ve seen any episode of the show, so I vaguely remember anything. But I always knew the Dave Coulier was underrated as a comedian. A lot of his cartoon character impressions are dead-on, especially Popeye and Elmer Fudd.
I'm young again...
Ok thanks for sharing.
Hern was my favorite. I sought out an episode of this just to show him to my eight year old.
We could enjoy comedy and not need to worry about offending anyone.

"That's how I start the show, I mean, that's how the announcer starts the show." Lol. I think I used to wonder who was talking at the start of each show, it all makes sense now.
Thank you for the memories
Wow that's awesome like memories of growing up in Austin Texas
I was an 80s kid but I never really watched this show. I always found something else to do when it came on. Watching it now and remembering the 80s as a kid….weird.
Nice to see Ugg from salute your shorts.
The only episode I remember very well is this one. I cant believe this is the first one I picked.
I wanted a String Racer so bad when I was a kid. lol
I remembered the commercial...
Don't know how, or why...
i love this show when i was a kid
WOW! Totally forgot about the String Racer!
It's March 14th, 2023, the 30 year anniversary of the final airing of Out of Control, back in 1993.
diz is like...cyndi lauper + lucille ball + ted "theodore" logan + pee wee herman.
is it weird that i kind of want to know what Indianapolis Jones and the Bikini of Doom is about?
Diz annoyed me when I use to watch this as a kid lol.
And a dash of Roseanne Roseannadanna
I wonder if Dave & Alanis met on one of these Nickelodeon shows?
It's like I'm watching a Max Headrom skit show.
I remember that gross crazy Let’s Eat intro & the 2 talking presidents 🤣 and It’s Alive! 🤣 And Fast Fairy Tales 🤣
Great show. I remember it
Oh my god, the commercials. How many of you remember that damn String Racer? 😂 I look at it now and think "How on earth did we think that would get more than one use out of it?"

That Let’s Eat award is way better than an Oscar.

I watched this as a kid before going to school. 👍
Hey I just saw the Sears logo. I remember this show.
dave i hear you
I remember this show
Dizz is as high as kite
I saw Dizz McNally working a newsstand in Hollywood a few years back.
Dave was so funny on this show; that’s why I think Full House was so disappointing to me.
stay cool
Ah I miss this time as a child when tv shows like this one were carefree and not trying to force a propaganda into children's minds.
EXCELLENT!
Que buenos recuerdos
Cut it out. Man the memories. I want a Time Machine
Before he was on "Full House"
the announcer for this sounds exactly like the announcer for the inter dimensional tv saturday night live on Rick and Morty. . .
Where do I recognize Marty Schiff from?! Hern
Which episode was it that they Chopped Diz in Half?? It was a Magic Trick from a Magician.
I used to watch "You can't do that on television" when i was a kid but didnt realize Alanis morissette was in that show. Then I found out that she wrote that song about uncle Joey. Didnt know they dated. Then found out that he was on nick?
Diz is a lot grumpy in this episode, when she
wishes she could go on vacation! "Awwwwwwwww,
luckyyyyyyyyyy!!"
Remember watching Out of control when I was a kid and never but 2 and 2 together that it’s uncle Joey from full house
4:20 this was how Uncle Joey Gladstone gained weight. ;) Only joking! Slim or big, we all love you, Dave!
*Joey
@@EWOODJ thanks!
I love Hern's Care Bear floatie.
Now i want Milk & Mac n Cheese
Dave Coulier
OMG UNCLE JOEY BEFORE FULL HOUSE
Joey Gladstone!!!!
He was the perfect Joey
i remember that mac n cheese commercial O_O
Hern Burford looks and sounds a lot like Chris Berman.
I wonder how the mud people are doing in 2023
This show gave me nightmares as a kid. One of the pig characters from Richard Scarey's Busy World books came to life and started throwing rotten fruit and vegetables at the actors. I don't know why but the very idea terrified me as a kid.
They make the stuff at that Moroccan place look pretty good. And I'm not much for eggs or whole chicken.
So Coulier and Alanis where both on Nick before they made it big?
Diz always make me compare her to Cindi Lauper
Well that’s joey from full house
Wow your good
Am I the only one who hasn't heard of Moroccan Roll?
And we'll also show you How Not to Build Your Own Backyard Carnival
The Mud People would be canceled today because mud people refers to POC and the mud resembles blackface.
Diz reminds me of Cecily Strong impersonating Judge Jeanine
She's supposed to be a knock-off of Cindy Lauper vs. a big pile of cocaine.
So funny!
I used to think dizzy was cindy Lauper
aren’t u a little2old2b playing w/ur food Dave
Burpin chili man
You can't do that on television was was so much better
