In WW2, I was on a Destroyer. and Saipan was our first taste of war. I was 21 at the time. Now I am one week away from 99 . Amazing how this Paradise has healed.Have watched many videos of these battle fields in peace.
Did you Actually fight on Saipan if so its such an honor to find a veteran on youtube comments. In fact I am writing a history project on Saipan it would be amazing if you could send me an email or something about your fighting and what you saw. lorcan.geraghty@gmail.com
A place of incredible raw natural beauty. Serene and majestic. A haunting past of historical world history. Kudos for the professionalism of the video and artistic presentation.
Stunning photography! I visited Saipan twice in 1976-77, stayed in Garapan. The shots of Suicide cliff are fantastic. I wish that digital camera and drones existed in my time! Of all the places in the Pacific I have visited, Saipan stands out as the most beautiful and memorable. Good work!
Thank you for the beautiful shots and music to go along with it. I visited Saipan in July 2018, just before typhoon Yutu hit it late October. It is a lovely island and reading about the history brings tears but also wonderment to me. If I ever have the chance to go back there, I would bring my best friend. Because of your video, I managed to find the two wonderful music accompaniments and now am playing daily in my car as I drive to work. Thank You and Bless you!
This is a stunningly beautiful video. The soothing music complements the high-quality imagery very well, and I sense that your drone really is advanced, as it obviously traveled quite far from wherever you were standing.
I watched this video before I came to Saipan from the US mainland in August 2016 for a work project doing steel inspection of the new casino. Thanks to your video I was able to visit most major spots in this during my 8 months there. Loved my time there.
I was there in the late 1980's. Beautiful place. My most memorable moment was when I was told to stay on the trails as there were still landmines. Hope they cleared that up.
I'm in Guam, temporarily , I wasn't even aware how close this was,, you fly very well, I enjoyed every minute of it, it I could, I'd go there but then I would have to quarantine for 2 weeks, and I did that here,, its not fun. Maybe someday, you really got to some incredible places, thanks for posting
Hi! I'm creating a Saipan documentary for my film class, and was wondering if I can use parts of your footage to put in it (with credits given of course.) ?
i used to live in Saipan from 5-10.....anywhere from Susupe (behind the UFO building), Chalan Piao, a bit over Garapan.....BUT......i thought it was MaNagaha island not MaÑagaha island.......OH MY GOD
Great question about the possibility of a bridge between Saipan and Tinian. After some research, it seems unlikely with current technology, and here's why: The Saipan Channel, about 5 miles wide and over 800 feet deep at its deepest, presents significant challenges. The area's frequent typhoons and rough waters suggest a suspension bridge as the most viable option, with causeways approaching each island. However, the harsh saltwater environment makes maintenance, especially for alternatives like a floating bridge, prohibitively expensive. Considering the cost, large suspension bridges like Denmark's Great Belt Bridge (built for $1.6B) and Japan's Akashi Kaikyō Bridge ($6.5B) offer some perspective. But these bridges have far higher daily traffic, making them economically feasible. A Saipan-Tinian bridge could cost between $5B to $15B, with yearly maintenance up to $300M. With Tinian's population around 3,500 and Saipan's about 43,000, funding would need external sources. The economic impact is substantial; for instance, a $5B project's annual interest alone could double the combined annual budget of both islands. The per capita cost would be over $100,000 for each resident. In reality, a bridge seems improbable. A more practical solution might be a subsidized ferry service. A bridge would rank among the world's most expensive and least used, with a potential toll of about $3,348 per vehicle (assuming 300 cars/day) to cover costs and a 10% ROI over 75 years. This makes the idea financially and practically unfeasible.
is Saipan bigger than Guam? also where can I obtain Information regarding moving to Saipan, used to go there when I was leaving back in Japan but I'm considering moving there but need more Information by the way great video good job. 👌👍
Rafael Rodriguez Moreno it is smaller in size and population than Guam. Guam's land area is over 210 square miles whereas Saipan is 45 square miles. Guam has a population of 170,000. Saipan's is approx 50,000. Saipan is much more affordable when it comes to housing and aside from Garapan it is much quieter/peaceful than Guam.
Sad you left out the best parts of Saipan beaches. By far the best is Ladder Beach, Obejan, Tank and Marine beaches are awesome, lots of rock face hiking, high pools to the right. No Tapachao footage? No wireless ridge footage? Not even the radar tower, naftan point, or Lau lau bay. Ouch. You left out the best parts. I need a drone.
Thanks for the comment and recommendations! It was really just a fun project I did while visiting family in Saipan. It was one of my first times flying a drone, and I didn't have time to film the entire island or include all of my footage in this edit. I definitely recommend buying one and sharing your highlights of Saipan! If you do, please be sure to share.
@@LakeDadsWorld I would love nothing more than to be able to afford a drone..... I have a thousand ideas for videos, but ideas are free, reality costs money. Saipan is very difficult to find emplyment.

6:36, that looks like the Thelma and Louise ending jump.
Beautiful shots! Do you mind if I use about 10-12 seconds of your clips in my own video? TIA!
Lucy Pangelinan Thanks! I don’t mind if it’s for private use, but please not for use on TH-cam or other public platforms.
