There is no "other side" of this debate. There are males and females, PERIOD. Anyone who believes that there are more than two genders, let alone 76(include complete nonsense like "identifying" as an attack helicopter or a household pet) or anyone who believes that a man literally is a woman just by saying he is, or vice versa, is not only a complete imbecile and totally ignorant of reality and basic biological and anatomical facts, they also most likely suffer from a severe mental disorder that causes them to believe this. Gender dysphoria, unlike gender fluidity, is a real mental disorder that causes and individual to believe he or she is the opposite gender of what they are and behave accordingly. By acknowledging that there is another "side" of this debate, we are giving the arguments of these deluded or disabled individuals credence and credibility when nothing they say on the subject is valid, credible, or even factually correct. We should not allow the opposing point of view(that gender is fluid or malleable) be placed on the same field as the truth(there are only two genders) because they are not equal opponents or equally valid or defensible positions. The former argument(gender fluidity) is FACTUALLY FALSE and the latter argument(there are only two genders) is FACTUALLY CORRECT. This kind of debate is not like debating taxation or foreign policy, in which both sides can formulate arguments that are valid in their own ways, according to the beliefs of the individual, and can be supported by evidence for both sides, this is a whole other animal altogether. There are but two sides to this argument: right and wrong, period, and most people who read this will know which label belongs to which argument.

I was having this conversation with someone who gave what I thought was a better analogy. Although I mostly agree with Matt this person’s reasons for agreeing with the trans position had some good points.
As far as Matt’s question: What is a woman? And the trans claim that trans women ARE women. Could a similar question be asked: What is a sister? If the answer is, someone biologically related through both mother and father, then what Is a girl adopted into a family with prior children that doesn’t share any of their DNA?
If you dug these adopted siblings up after 200 years and examined their DNA you would conclude that they weren’t sisters, right? But adopted females with adopted siblings ARE sisters. This would very likely be central to this child’s identity. We accept it as normal. We wouldn’t constantly be challenging this persons assertion that they are in fact not really sisters. Just out of kindness. We could press the issue and say, well technically they aren’t really sisters, and that might be true. But we all accept as a social convention that this person is actually a sister. As a parallel argument, could the same things not be said of trans women?

No matter what, the adopted sister will always know to their core that they are adopted. @@homershimshon4172 I agree with you. I think biology must definitely be acknowledged but using someone’s preferred pronouns is being polite and considerate of people’s preferences. I feel sad whenever I’m in a conservative comments section and they’re all collectively shitting on a trans person (eg. Caitlin Jenner whenever she appears on Fox, for example) when she’s probably one of the most level headed trans women/human being ever (and I make this point even after considering the shady stuff she’s been involved with in the past). Even Ben Shapiro has mentioned in Lewis Howes’ podcast episode that he uses people’s preferred pronouns whenever he’s talking to queer people in real life, and that he only assigns biological pronouns to people onstage/during debates in order to further his point regarding biology. Caitlyn Jenner is biologically ‘he’ and socially prefers to be a ‘she’, so I’ll respect that so long as she is aware that she’s biologically male (and she is). What we actually shouldn’t be supporting is the delusion some of these woke people have about gender identity and its relation to biology , and I think Matt did a great job in the debate breaking it all down.

Maybe we could measure & divide by age…. Kids under ten & the over-80s don’t pose as much of a danger to others, and people with severe disabilities are less likely to be predators. Perhaps left-handed people aren’t proportionally as dangerous, say, or vegetarians or people born in July? we can puzzle & ponder what the problem is forever but there’s centuries of evidence around the world to show that the chief determining factor is sex. It’s NOT ALL MEN but it is men and almost always men and we cannot tell which men until its too late so allowing men to pretend to be women is like letting a fox in the hen house to save it from being picked on by the other bigger meaner foxes or putting a feather boa round its neck & claiming it identifies as a chicken.

Megyn, the problem with participating in the gender pronoun game is that it's confusing for normal people who can literally lose their jobs if they don't comply or mess up.
I lost my first salary job for calling a woman a rock star after she got a sale. We sold BGM music memberships at a telemarketing place. I was the supervisor and had a white board labeled "Rock'in Nesters" with everyone's names and put stars next to their names when they got sales. They were "Nesters" because my team were the newbies and my job was to work with them for the first two weeks to develop their sales skills. I don't know who the woman was, but she went to HR claiming she felt it was sexual harassment. They said it didn't matter that I called everyone a rockstar, or that they walked by my whiteboard every day for several months, or that there is nothing sexual about "rockstar", if she thought it was sexual harassment then our policy says it is sexual harassment.
With that experience in mind...I worked with a trans guy a few years ago and went out of my way to avoid talking to him. Not because he was trans. I could care less about that. Simply because I was afraid to say the wrong thing and lose my now six-figure salary job. He was an engineer and there were several times that I really needed his help. But I would always find another (often much less efficient) way to get answers.
Normal, non-discriminatory people should not have to worry about things like this. They should just be able to do their jobs without be vilified as bigots or whatever because they speak normally.

Matt did great, even with all the opposition. When the professor came out, I said to myself “they’re about to gang up on him” and the crowd was against him too….but Dr.Phil’s team is smart. He wanted to set up an environment for discussion about the topic, but if you don’t treat these people with kid gloves their whole community will attack you…..so the Dr.Phil show gave them more support on purpose, but I believe Dr.Phil agrees with Matt.

I honestly believe this too! From what I’ve ‘heard,’ Dr. Phil is a great guy and definitely comes from a rough upbringing. The man knows how to have a conversation.
It was definitely clear to see on Dr. Phil’s face how much he wasn’t buying into the whole ‘x amount of pronouns’ topic. It’s sad to believe that society has dropped this low to be having these types of conversations.

Megyn asks a great question here- which boils down to "why not just be "polite" and go along with a person's preferred pronouns etc- just to be nice?". This is a sensible question, and I have a feeling that most people do exactly this. In fact, I would wager that very few people- including trans allies- actually believe that trans women are real women- in reality they are simply being polite. This is certainly how I've been going about things at school for years- that is, until recently. A few months ago I stumbled onto detransitioner videos- and I learned about how very young people, mostly girls, are being swept up into this "movement" and for various reasons taking puberty blockers, hormones- and in some cases undergoing irreversible surgeries at young ages- and then regretting it. After watching a number of these videos, and noticing the obvious similarities- the same story over and over documenting the powerful influence of social media, affirmation among peer groups, and affirmation from adults in schools, I suddenly started worrying that even just being polite- and thus affirming a young students beliefs- could encourage them to undergo dangerous treatments that may ruin their lives. Now I think, more and more, about the dangerous repercussions that a seemingly simple act like pronoun affirmation might have and I'm horrified. Frankly, coming to this knowledge, and learning more about what is going on has shaken my faith in my ability to continue as an educator. Short version- yeah, maybe with adults it doesn't matter- especially if they really have gender dysphoria (I believe that some people truly do) and have taken their time to come to terms with who they are- but with kids (and the statistics make it very clear that the majority of these young people do not have true gender dysphoria, but are in fact being swept up in a form of mass hysteria) it's just not morally defensible to affirm. Instead, I know feel that we should challenge and question a young person's belief- but of course that is something that we are absolutely not allowed to do. Right now, if a high school girl tells me that she wants to be a stripper (sadly, this happens) I can challenge her thinking and arguments and it's fine, but if she tells me that she is in fact a boy, or a "they" I am compelled by regulations to nod along and affirm. This isn't good.....

The argument that “it doesn’t hurt anyone so just do it,” it’s a lie as old as time. Telling a lie hurts the truth, and a society which isn’t hinged on truth will sooner than later self destruct. Now to the hair color analogy-that can be likened to comparing apples with oranges.
While I may see someone who appears to look like a woman, and actually think that they are female, doesn’t make them female. This isn’t the old adage which infers that if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it’s a duck. Our physical attributes and make up as women isn’t the only defining factor for a woman. Hence Matt Walsh using the analogy that they have turned “woman” into a costume that anyone can put on- woman isn’t a costume.
There are internal attributes as well as organs that differentiate us from the male species. However, a woman isn’t defined by her internal organs alone, because some are born without it, due to deformities, while some have lost some organs due to ailments. Our Chromosomes, and ultimately how God created us, gives us our definition as male and female.
If we decide to let lies stand in place of truth, where do we draw the line? Can I then assume that I am the next Supreme Court judge with no credentials or experience to back it up? And without nomination? Wouldn’t I be perceived as mad?
Let us be realistic, this whole trans agenda is a lie from the pit of hell. The sooner the American society realizes it, the better it will be for them.
