Larry is what I call a precise guitarist. He is so good! I've been a fan every since the first time that I heard him play. The guy could do unbelievable speed stuff too. There are some crazy people out there. That pissed me off when I heard about the man getting shot. I can guarantee you this much: If Larry would've wanted to do Mulberry Street live exactly like the studio version or even better, he could have. I seen him do Miles Davis stuff on the guitar to a tee. I've also seen him play the most difficult Jazz standards. I think he did play that studio version straight out too. But, he was afraid some jealous dude might do something crazy. I love how he plays Strikes Twice in the concert. Larry is up there with the very best in history.

The master of masters himself,, Larry Carlton,,, he certainly is the best overall guitarist in the world, without question! To say this about any musician is normally an exaggeration, and usually an overstatement,, but,, not in his case, which makes him even more amazing, think about it!!!

I like the 80's stuff he did the best. I went to see him back then, and I was completely blown away! So good!

@@guitarttimman Thanks for your comment! I saw him on this tour when he played in New York. I don't remember if it was Radio City Music Hall,, or Carnegie hall!?!?!? We were able to hear the second/late show in the lounge area. Larry's music is very difficult to copy!!!
I've been working at it for 40 years!!! I get nice compliments from people at the clubs when I play live,, and I ALWAYS tell them about Larry Carlton so that I never cop on his playing, and spread his name as much as possible! I call him: ~Larry Carl-Tone~ lol!!!!
