I have the OEM Trim and APR Backing. Love the look on my Series White STI. Only issue I had was the Trim didn't let the Backing sit fully flush, so small gap at the bottom of the trunk only noticeable when you open the trunk, but overall gives the trunk some extra flare. I used double sided tape since the backing is only held on my 2 screws. Would go with the Seibon Plate Frame. the Weave goes the same way and isn't expensive. and covers the bottom 2 holes.
I know this is 2 months old but I tried out the rubber type license place cover and they work/look pretty well. Your plate just slides into it like a cell phone case. Might be a good option for you to look into.

Question about the polishing compound/detailing technique: for extremely fine scratches on paint, how much pressure would it need to remove them? Circular motion or back and forth? Assuming my surface is properly prepped prior to correction. Just don’t want to introduce any new swirls/scratches. Thanks ✌
I don't think so. He makes beautiful stuff, but the version I would be interested in is the signature version with the mufflers. Which is a very similar design as Cobb. I am trying not to do any repeats as it would just be null data to share. I'm trying exhausts that are different from each other to form a valid opinion. I've already done the straight pipe/no muffler on it (delta), tried a "quieter" titanium exhaust (cobb), and about to throw the awe touring on, which is a smaller mufflered stainless version. The only other type I would be interested in trying is something with smaller mufflers out back like the Invidia r400. Otherwise, everything else is very similar in my opinion. They may yield slightly different tones, but not sure if the risk is worth the reward.

I know it's an old video but I just got mine and the bolts it came with don't fit. I have a 2021 sti anyone else have this problem? I'm going to lowes to pick up some screws that fit but I find it odd that the supplied hardware doesn't fit.
How has it held up in regards to dirty/debris or even salt getting behind the frame and on the paint? I live in NJ too and winter time is rough with the salt.
Haven’t had any issues. Granted I don’t drive this car in the winter months. I usually blow the pressure washer on the sides of it to get anything that may have collected behind there. Clean water comes out everytime.
Hey Chris I just picked up a 2021 Lapis blue STI a few days ago. I love the car to death but under light acceleration above 2.5k RPM the engine has this resonant vibrating sound that disappears as soon as I apply more throttle. There are only 650 miles on the odometer and it’s been there since I took possession of the car. I was wondering if your car does that too and it is just a quirk of the STI or if it’s something I should take in and get looked at?

An STI as a first car is pretty awesome haha. Personally, I would look at something a little easier on the wallet to maintain. WRX's and STI's are relatively cheap to maintain overall, but if something goes wrong (especially buying used), it can get expensive very quickly. My advice anytime someone asks me this questions is to always buy a new wrx/sti if possible. Otherwise, buying used has its drawbacks.

No plate at the front of the vehicle ? Is it the same in all states ?
Some states only require rear. But NJ requires both front and rear. Haven't ran a front plate on my cars in a decade.
NC only requires a rear plate.
