Visitors to DRIVEit 2015 were able to sample the new Ford Transit AWD first hand on the off-road course. It's a factory conversion and on the price list as stand-alone models.
Ford Transit van is my biggesssssst love !!!!!!!!!!!💙💚💜
ford connect van ten years i have it tough as bricks even now goes like blazes
Looks like every building site road I go to in my ordinary transit
Love this car
lift it up another 6 inches plus offroad tires and wallaa you've got yourself an expedition vehicle.
Krakatoa then ur out of business coz now its a gas chugger lol
Krakatoa tgfggt
Krakatoa trrttg
This video title promised "off road" and the whole thing was on a dirt road which it never left.
Bad idea unless you're adding new drivelines, a higher gear ratio, new tranny with more speeds to handle the increased torque loads from the larger tires. After that put in a bigger steering gear box to control your tires, a larger power steering hydraulic pump to an upgraded custum sized rack and pinion setup, then replace the swaybar, rear trac bar, steering links and joints, and probably the entire wheel hub assembly with a heavy duty version of each. Now add a selectable 2 / 4 wheel drive transfer case and lockers at both, the rear differential and the transaxle in front, now you have a reliable and capable 4 wheel drive you wont get stuck with.
That was easy.
Krakatoa wallaa? lmao!
four wheel drive, and right hand drive I'll buy 1 right now

My Prius flys trough that
A nice vehicle, but a crying shame that Ford "chose" to have it be the same ride height as the 2WD. It should be 2" higher.
+1 -- would of liked some wider rubber on these finally
Beautiful video
This is SILLY. Any 2WD vehicle with AT tires can go on this terrain. You don’t need 4x4 to go on blinking dirt road or a deep puddle!!!
Kidding me...I got stuck on flat wet grass. Unless you have some weight in the back I would be stuck in these conditions.
FORD IS good job Americen nice I Love it
Im gonna have that definetly
Nice van but not for off roading. If you want to go off road. You would get something 4x4 with a different suspension and tires and clearance different than that. Ford design that with a family or working people in mind so you don't have to jump up into it on an everyday basis. A friend of mine has a sprinter with 4x4 option. That vehicle has a lot I log ground clearance but if he did add running boards on it , it would be a chore to get into it and drive it.
You don't want full time all wheel drive anyway. Full time front wheel drive with an all wheel drive option that you can switch off and on is ideal. AWD all the time is just massively unnecessary wear and tear on your vehicle. Too much in maintenance makes a vehicle not worth the cost of driving it nevermind owning one.
Bring back the Econoline!

Ford: Too bad
1:04 mud in front....... 1:08 no mud .....
I didn't see anything that my standard rwd transit with decent tyres couldn't do. as ford insist this isn't 4wheel drive it's AWD, all wheels are driven but not necessarily at the same time!
+ijustwanttoseetitty i have an awd, believe me without front drive rear wheels are spinning almost always on soft ground. on the movie is dry ground, only some step hills - that is no off-road. try deep mud in construction junction, you will see the difference.

This is why I'll be buying a 4x4 Sprinter instead of a Transit, which isn't a real 4x4 system anyway. If Ford offered an AWD van in the US, I might have been willing compromised to save money (compared to the overpriced Sprinter). I'm doing a full RV conversion probably next year and proper 4WD is a must. There's definitely demand in the US for 4x4 vans, so it's beyond me why Mercedes is the only brand offering one and it's a very capable 2-speed 4x4 system to boot. I know Quigley and others offer fine aftermarket 4x4 systems, but they're expensive and will void your factory warranty. Stupid move Ford.
Elég jol mirja .
😁
No way a regular transit could do those, with average tires. The things are helpless level on wet grass, unless you have at least 1k of dead weight in the back. With good tires about half what was shown. I've driven one for a year now (started with 14k miles on it) and 15k miles has shown me a decent vehicle for the price. Not awesome. At all. Stuck on a level hard gravel parking lot with two inches of snow, pulled out by my lil sis in a minivan. Stuck on slight incline wet grass. Unable to drive up a barely muddy gravel to my home. Good tires helped tremendously. Not worth spending 10k on 4x4, as the vehicle is, well, neh. Bearings are squealing. Driveshaft needs to be replaced (again) on factory recall. Door latches break. Seat belts don't retract. Shifting is so slow you can think about heaven or hell waiting for next gear to lock in. Step on the gas hard, and she does takes off and goes hard, after three seconds to check with the home office. So, it's a cheap van to haul 15 people, or 7 kids, the wife, Grandma, and all my tools. What did you expect for $30k?
2019 ford transit off-road
God bless ford
Who needs a Raptor??
Does it have low range?
Perfect
Would be nice to see it off road!! you could do all that in a 2wd
class puddle m8

is this factory FORD awd or aftermarket manufacturer?
+z1m7x2n6 i guess factory
Factory - European model offers AWD, North American does not. Ford has no intention of bring AWD to N. America, I have emailed them on multiple occasions.
Who did you contact? I've tried to ask the same question of Ford and the people I spoke to wouldn't even admit there is an AWD model in Europe. I'd love to convert an AWD version into a campervan.
David Golembeski AWD version is available in Europe, I have a mwb 350 bought in U.K. They mostly seem to be bought by utility companies so you don't see them often for sale. I converted mine to a campervan and it goes everywhere I need it for.
Lucky you...if we Americans want an AWD Transit, we have to take it to one of a couple aftermarket shops and wait months for them to convert it...then I'd worry about warranty issues. Probably couldn't take it to any old Ford dealer to have the front drive serviced under warranty. Is yours the new design...2015 or newer? I looked into a lift kit for the Transit and I'm told the weak link is the rear shock mounts...even if you lift the body, the bottom rear shock mounts limit ground clearance. Only thing we can do is mount a slightly taller set of tires.
OFF-ROAD TIRES
AND NO CARGO...!
If you put a bag of mulch inside this shit will get stuck
My granny could do all that in her vw up .
where do they get the federal transit. I want one
There are some were you think they are

crap i have been through with this piece of scrap on anyone , AVOID
LIKE YOU LIfe DEPENDS ON IT
Ciaran Clarke yo that's why you go with Sprinter man you can never go wrong on Mercedes diesel
Mate. I'm thinking witht the effort you put into dissing ford at so many vids, you have an alterier motive? Nah, I know you're not going to do that. No normal person, would spend that much time nagging about a car, without a motive. So enlighten us, mate.
Transit for pavement, RZR for off road.
nah. big
What a joke. Give me a Ford Ka and I could complete that route.
en una H . 100 hyundai.....lo hago,mejor!!!!!
Any old transit could manage that terrain. Not impressed
Yvonne
I'd bet the underside took a good few scrapes
Simply Vantastic!
Нормальный человек так ездить не будет....

Love it...
I own one and the best cargo van on the market.
Magnificent
Anything with legal tyres can go on hard mud/hardcore. If that was a steep wet field with mud that would be impressive. Hard gravel with a puddle isnt
Van went swimming.
That my friends was the day where I got badly injured on my wheels. The water was full of crocodiles

Lol. If you‘re looking for a basic vehicle for a 4x4 camper van, this is a joke.
i could build a v10 e350 and make it 4x4 for half the price. and it would walk all over that thing
Love this video! I want mine to do this!
