Love the blues, don't recognise that one,I am the same like to go to handy places where the fishing is easier on the old legs,I fish similar sized burns and think it is hard to beat, another good video.
Nice, this was a great video. I really want to get better at river fishing. I was on the Isla and the Ericht the last couple of weeks and it did not go so well 🤣🤣 the best fish was about 7" the rest were all parr. Thanks for sharing and keeping me motivated
Yeah flowing water presents the problem of drag which is less of an issue on lochs and other still waters. You need a wider casting repertoire and additional line management skills. Keep at it and it will come. 👍
Great video, from The US with love. I tried getting into fly fishing last year but didn’t really know what I was doing or what to look for but really enjoyed just this simple video with nice commentary. Hope the rest of the year picks up for you!
Well done Fred nice to see you on the water, I was out on the Sunday as well and christened my new rod with two half pounders on the dry but it took ages and many changes to find what they were feeding on , rivers badly need water everywhere, cheers Mike
Hello Fred, new subscriber here, just found, or should I say YT suggested I watch one of your earlier videos! What a pleasure and surprise it was too. I've just retired and moved back from Canada, I decided to get back to fly-fishing. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to produce these videos, I know there's an awful lot of your time spent producing them. As for the adverts, I maybe foolishly, but i subscribe to TH-cam premium which avoids advertising (unless it's in house promotions) . I don't watch mainstream TV as there's only about one or two odd programmes ever worth the watch. Cheers from Sassenach Jack !
another nice video and great music choice Fred...brought back memories for me of New Zealand-style nymphing with wool and nymphs :) ... a great tactic / gentle method for the low flow conditions as an alternative to dries...thanks for sharing
I get that it's difficult to keep it interesting. I've only put out 2 videos on the Almond, with another needing to be edited, but I dont want to keep going to the same places. I have another on a different river, but its not very good because theres no audio due to a technical issue. I'm not sure what to do. Im not trying to build a channel, and I'm not expecting to get 1000 subs, but I do want to engage people. I would like to visit all the big rivers and make professional quality episodes of me catching wild Scottish salmon, but that's not going to happen, so the best i can do is just show the reality of my hobby and hope that other people enjoy it and take something from it, and hope that my commentary is interesting or funny enough to carry yet another day on the same water. Tight lines.
Yes it's not easy to keep things interesting and I think that may be what causes "burnout" with some TH-camrs. I have seen this happen with a few photography channels, they start with great enthusiasm and fizzle out. It's a real shame. I think all you can do is try your best and get as much enjoyment as you can from it. 🙂
For what it's worth, I don't mind seeing the same stretches of water and it's never the same anyway, so grateful for the footage! Tight lines.
Thanks. 🙂
Fantastic scenery and a few fish as well.
Thanks glad you enjoyed it 😊😊
Love to listent to your video in background the sound of water and your voice are so relaxing.
Thank you. 'm glad you enjoy the videos. 😊

Thanks Douglas. 😊 Yeah I have to admit I'm finding the going tough on the overgrow streams these days.

Thank you very much and keep trying at the fly fishing, you'll get there! 😉
Lovley wee video 🎣
Thanks glad you enjoyed it. 😊
Nice video, aye that water looks a bit low and it's only May, there's been no significant rain down here in the Borders for at least three months.
Thanks Keith. It's actually a bit scary how much the water has dropped over the past 2 weeks. We need rain for sure.

Yeah Mike, water is in short supply now. We need some serious rain.

Thanks TK glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
Liking the coverage. I broke my recon 3wt yesterday, so I'm in depression today, lol.
Oh no! Sorry to hear that. 😢
Would love to have a river like that within easy reach of me. Great vid. Thanks for posting. Have Subbed!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. 😊
Another very enjoyable video.👍
Glad you enjoyed it Robert, thanks for commenting. 😊
Great videos every time not bothered if it’s the same river and look at that gorse always changing landscape
Thanks. I suppose could go to a different part of the river and t would look totally different. What we need now is water. 🙂
need water across the country it seems, rain will make a big difference.
Don’t worry, the rain will come. I’ll put ma hoose on it.
I was astonished just how much that wee river had dropped in a week. Let's hope we get rain soon. 🙂
If you think your fish are small you want to try fishing the river coquet in Northumberland 😂😂 six ounces is massive here 😉
I know what you mean, we have a lot of micro-fish water here too. 😄

Where are you fishing would be helpful.
Don't worry about the location Fred. We die hard brotherhood would probably agree, the latter part of your sentence says it all
Yeah you're right Peter, variety may be the spice of life, but it's the staple diet that keeps us alive! 😉
