Thank you! I couldn't find my manual and never was able to download one online. This took so much less time. I am delighted that you decided to put a video here. Thanks again.
Thanks for this video! When I remove the air filter cover I can see that there's styrofoam behind the grate on the wall of the refrigerator. In both the LG official video and your video, it doesn't look like there's foam back there. Any idea what that might be about or if I need to try to figure out a way to get in there and remove that?
Thank you for this video. I was not able to get the "Fresh Air Filter" back on smoothly and broke one of the two pegs. The one peg is holding the face plate in place but i need to replace it. :(
LG says to turn off your water first then empty all the water out of the dispenser before taking out the old filter. however I did not turn off the water.
2 replies to your comment say that LG says to turn off the water and empty the dispenser, but in the LG manual (linked in this comment) I don't see where it says to do that. It says that when removing the filter, about 1 oz of water may leak, which is normal. Link for models LFXS26972* / LFXS26973* / LFXC22526* / LFXS28968* / LMXS28626* / LMXS28636* / LMRS28626* / LRMXS2806* / LRMXC2206* / LMXC22626* / LFXS26566* / LFXS28566*: gscs-manual.lge.com/CNZ/MFL70761734/en-us/main.html#section_30. (probably because this video is for model LMXS2826S which isn't in the list of models the manual I just linked to is in, thought my LG fridge looks exactly like the one in the video).
Did you turn off the water source before you took off the old water filter? And did you drain out the residuals water afterwards before the new filter’s installation? Thanks
Thanks for asking the question. After watching the LG video I had the same one and then this one. They turn off the water in theirs and I found that odd
Yes, I am not happy with mine. It has this white powder falling out of the water system and settling on the dispenser shelf. LG won't give an explanation about this white powder. How do I know it isn't contaminating the drinking water?
I am happy enough with my LG refrigerator. I knew that the icemaker gave everyone problems so I have babied mine. However, my Mom and my sister have had a lot of problems with their refrigerators.
where did you find the model number? inside the fridge or behind? because my refrigerator is exactly the same as yours but I can't find the model number, the one I found is inside and it's different from the one you have. Thank you
That's because there is no sensor telling you that the filter's done, they just assume it's 6 months. Just like your printer. It doesn't 'read' the ink level. It counts pages printed and assumes its out of ink.
Not all LGs require turning or rotating the filter. Your LG fridge may only require that the filter be pushed in. It took me a while to discover this because so many videos show LG models show filters being turned. See th-cam.com/video/HGDQAVr-OWA/w-d-xo.html
I have a problem to install water filler GP-1000p I try a lot but it’s doesn’t working and a water leaking when I try have water out .I give up with LG 😞😞☹️

I have the same fridge and my mine won’t budge when I try to twist if off

Update* I figured out why that was happening as I needed to shut the water valve off first then it turns like butter!!!
Where is the water valve shut off, thanks
Help ... I can't get the air filter off. Afraid to force it
Any suggestions?
Thank u. Your directions were perfect!
Do they make a bypass filter for these? Because I installed a RO house filter and do not need to have a second filter.
Thanks bud for posting. Super simple.

Do you need to turn off water supply to fridge before replacing filter?
Did you have to turn your water off? Cannot find a definitive answer on it for this same fridge. Thanks for this helpful vid!

No
No need to turn off water.
Do you need to turn off the water before replacing water filter?
No you don’t.
Turn off water to refrigerator first and drain pressure at water/ ice bay on front!!❤
Did you turn off the water source before you took off the old water filter? And did you drain out the residuals water afterwards before the new filter’s installation? Thanks
You don't need to turn the water off at the source. Just unscrew. And replace with new filter.
No you don't have to turn off the water just change it maybe just a tad of water drips but that's ok 🙃

Hello, i am having trouble getting the new water filter to lock in. I don't want to turn it to the right too much and break anything. Any suggestions?
Me too we have the same problem
LG says to turn the water off, is that actually required?
Thanks you helped me out!
Brilliant! Thanks so much!👍👍👍👍👍👍
How do you flush a filter with a fridge that doesn’t have water dispenser? Only ice maker..?..
Thank you for the explanation 🙂

Thank you so much
Thanks so much 🙏 👍👍👍👍👍
Did the off brand filters you used in this video work as good the LG ones?
Yes I think they were as good as the original LG filters.
I keep hearing to stay away from LG fridges.....Are you happy with yours? How long you have it?
Yes, I am not happy with mine. It has this white powder falling out of the water system and settling on the dispenser shelf. LG won't give an explanation about this white powder. How do I know it isn't contaminating the drinking water?
I missed your other question... I have my LG only 18 months!
I am happy enough with my LG refrigerator. I knew that the icemaker gave everyone problems so I have babied mine.

The model number is from a sticker at eye level on the left side just inside the fridge. Mine says LMXS28626S
Thank you so much!
