I think that, unless you're using an ATEM with livestream, the output it gives through USB-C is heavily compressed, as the port itself is USB 2. That's why I prefer to capture the HDMI output with an Avermedia GC573, as it feels more acceptable, but that's just a problem with the cheaper models, I guess. Looking forward to upgrade my gear soon.
Can I just use the SDI to HDMI without the control panel to make a stream connection from my camera to my PC, or is the control panel a must? Sorry I'm new to this.
You don't need an Atem Mini but you do need some sort of HDMI capture card. This will bring the video signal into your computer. You could also not use the SDI-HDMI converter and just get a SDI capture device. They make Atem Mini with SDI instead of HDMI.
I wondered if there was something wrong with my Camlink but when I side by side tested it with the Atem Mini there was a clear color difference. Annoying since the Camlink is so small and doesn’t take up desk space when you only need one input.
I was curious... Can the "MixPre3 II" do everything that the "DBX 286s" can do? I have the 'DBX 286s' myself and I love the real-time voice clean up and punch up it can do, but it's just so big in size. I wish I could get smaller DBX like device for my small work area. Does the 'MixPre3 II' have the same real-time audio adjustments capabilities as the DBX? If so I'd save up to purchase one for myself. This was a Great video! Thank you so much for making this!
You're welcome. The MixPre doesn't have the processing like the DB286s, but it does have super clean pre-amps, multiple channels, can run off battery, not a rack mount and the ability to record internally. Probably some other stuff too that I can't think of. Thanks for checking out the video!
great video! SDI always makes me nervous
best webcam ever ! ☺ ( a bit of humor in this world ) , great video for hq streaming setup 👍
Amazing video, Josh!!!👏👏👏
Your content is the best! Did you talk about how to upscale 1080p to 4K and I missed that?
