I agree with you on Montana and Idaho. I was born and raised in Idaho and along with Montana, we have some of the most beautiful natural areas anywhere, but if the California invasion continues, it won't be that way for long. Our state leaders are already eager to sell off all the state land to people with lots of big bucks, sealing off access to thousands of acres of public land.
The problem is mass immigration into this country. California is being overwhelmed by immigrants. So anybody with money is getting out of there. About 20 million people need to be thrown out of his country immediately!!
I moved to Eastern Idaho for school from the Deep South, and boy do people here really have a bone to pick with Boise and Californians. I tend not to get much ire thrown my way since I don't intend to stay and claim Louisiana as home. Works for me
Never happen ever. Montana broke off from Idaho over a 150 years ago, because Montanans couldn't stand Idaho's politics. They are no more compatible today. Medical marijuana is illegal in Idaho, and recreational marijuana is legal in Montana. Enough said.
Of course they want to do that and it has nothing to do with Californians. Idaho is just that stupid. Always has been, and always will be. Lake Couer d'Alene has been a superfund site for over 40 years and Idaho refuses to do anything about it, even though parts of the lake are already dead and the toxins on the bottom are moving towards the surface due to climate change. Idaho was travelling to settle between Alabama and Mississippi and got lost on the way.
South Carolina is much more like Georgia in culture. They have different accents and food, different ways of doing things, etc. The split happened back in the early 1700s when it was a British colony, so both states developed independently through almost their entire existence, even though they share the Carolina name.
True story. I met a guy from Montana awhile back. When I asked him what it was like living there, he said "It's a lot like Idaho, but without all the intellectuals."

@@lesmiller5134 The reason housing is cheaper is lower demand and poorer people. As an extreme example: You won't find housing at the price of the near-dead town of Sprague in an area with high incomes. I don't know what is wrong with that town, they didn't even try to save themselves like Ritzville did by becoming a rest stop. Ditto for Connell, except they were saved by a prison. It is as run-down and filthy as Sprague is though. At least the northern part of Eastern Washington(plus Moses Lake in the center) has a lot of outdoors stuff to attract hunters, fishermen, campers, etc. No sane person wants to actually live in Yakima, Ellensburg, Colville, Republic, Ione, or the Dry Shitties.
Careful what you ask for - Boise will have a population that will set the policies and soon won't be much different than Portland with all the people moving to Boise. Drove though Boise recently and I can't tell where Boise ends and Nampa start.
I think that Idaho would be more beneficial to the U.S if it dissappeared entirely. It's full of redoubters, flat earthers and antisocial, violent freaks. Let it just be absorbed into the surrounding states and call it good.
I suspect that western Oregon would be happy to move the border. Unfortunately Idaho doesn't want the burden of of such a large area that provides far less in tax revenue than it costs to maintain the schools and infrastructure.
@@edithdufoe853 It is... Almost all red states depend heavily on federal funding just to keep the lights on. In order from most to least: Montana, New Mexico, Kentucky, Louisiana, Alaska, Wyoming, Arizona, West Virginia, Alabama, North Dakota, Delaware, Mississippi, Indiana, Rhode Island, Texas, Arkansas, Idaho, Ohio, Tennessee, and Oklahoma each individually receive billions in federal funding each year; to the point that federal funding accounts for more than 20% of those states' GDP. And you'll never guess which states receive the most food stamps/welfare...
Haha! I live in Delaware, I've always thought that it should be combined, yes, as part of MD, or the whole Del-Mar-Va Penninsula could be a state, or at least the northern New Castle County as part of PA, it's always seemed like a suburb of Philly. But compared to the surrounding states, PA, MD, NJ, it is cheap(er) to live in.
I would divide Delaware by the canal with the north going to Penn and south going to Md. The northeastern portion of Maryland east of the Susquehanna River and north of the canal would become part of Penn and the eastern shore of Virginia on the Delmarva peninsula also going to Maryland.

Don't know why Delaware always includes a mountainous scene. There are no mountains in Delaware. Highest point is 440 feet in the Wilmington suburbs. Some people think Delaware has mountains because of the Delaware River, which starts in the Catskills of NYS and flows between Penn. and NJ.
North and South Dakota used to be ones state, then they were split up. It was called the Dakota Territory, which included the present-day states of North and South Dakota, as well as parts of Montana, Wyoming, and Nebraska. They were split up in 1889/1890. But of course, you knew that already.
Having US Senators was the reason territories were split up to form separate States. It was all about having a voice in Congress and political influence.
1:44 No, putting their states together would not get them more electoral votes or more Representatives in the House. All it would get them is two fewer votes in the Senate.
That is why they should do it, especially the Dakotas. They have massively more representation than many congressional districts in Texas, NY and California
There's wealth and distinct cultures so that would never fly. Presently, escaping hometown association requires just an hour drive for a restart. It's a good arrangement.
As I said previously ... That will never happen as the new State would lose two US Senators. Perhaps your State will donate your two. Those Senators were the reason many territories were split up to form separate States in the first place.

@@Trtevoorryu Florida was late to the game. The USA, acquired Mobile, Alabama as part of the Louisiana Purchase from France in 1803 and Alabama became a State in 1819.
Sadly, you are correct on the California invasion.

Absolutely not. The Carolina's are way too different. Yes, Charlotte would be dead center(Rock Hill), but the cultures aren't similar; at all.

South Carolina is much more like Georgia in culture.
