The stage was done in South Korea since this is during the pandemic in 2020. One of Blackpink’s best songs ever. Jisoo and Jennie co-wrote the song and Jennie participated in the production. 🖤💗🥰

One slightly spooky (and very Korean) thing you might not have noticed in the MV for LSG is that all of the girls die for love in the scenarios created for them. Jennie dies in a car crash after fighting with someone . Lisa jumps off a building after being betrayed. Rosie dies in a bath of a broken heart. ("Love is killing your darling.") And Jisoo drowns in her own tears brought on by sorrow when all her friends are gone. For half the video they are ghosts! (Notice the neon sign that says "die alone" when they are dancing on the rooftop, but the word "die" is not lit up). But being the immortals they are, they revive, because they are still looking for love! The MV is beautifully made and draws on so many elements it can't be easily written about in a few words. The song itself is a masterpiece of sing writing and production. They have transcended kpop and are major artists, in the "art" sense of the word.
Usually, I'd say most underate song for Blinks is "Stay". Since the MV is too difficult to comprehend. Noted there is so many theory about this MV.
The “performance” was during 2020 / lockdown for covid so it was not live at Jimmy Kimmel’s show, and that’s how they did the video for the song with Selena Gomez, apart!

What I love (I've read this somewhere) is that the 3rd chorus the bass changes from staccato/pulsy notes to single drawn-out notes. It's like an epiphany by them to show that while lovesick. they still have each other. Something like that.

I love your enthusiasm in this reaction! And not to nitpick because this is really well done, but with the live performance, I believe since Lovesick Girls/The Album dropped in 2020 that this was done remotely due to the pandemic. It's likely filmed in South Korea and a lot of camera action for live performances/special stages include a lot of different cameras and the artists are trained/take cues on when to switch their gaze for more interesting angles. It's very possible it was done in different shots or takes, don't get me wrong! But it's one reason that live performances of different artists in SK are filmed so well - Korean camera work is NO joke.

Yeah they definitely filmed this in SK, I’m pretty sure this was during lockdown. And pretty sure the set they used was the set they used for their Online Concert. They probably also did a few takes of this but also it’s well known in South Korea that idols have training in finding the red light on cameras when they perform in music shows, so it also wouldn’t be that uncommon for idols to look at different camera angles straight in the face when performing

This is the song that sealed the deal for me. I had heard their other songs then and thought everything was great and amazing, but this song was the one that told me they had it in them.
The line "We were born to be alone but why we're still looking for love" is very relatable and realistic and yet not too often expressed.
And yes! I am personally partial to Jisoo but it's hell trying to choose a bias in Blackpink. They're all so good and they complement & boost one another really well 💕

This was shot on COVID-19 pandemic that's why they're not live on Jimmy Kimmel.. All K-Pop idols are trained to look at which camera is recording, South Korean Broadcast uses multiple cameras on on studio so the outcome of their performance will be outstanding

there is a theory that jennie dies in the car accident, lisa falls from the building, and rosé in the bathtub, jisoo tries to run and go back in time but it's too late and since it's nothing without them (the sign ) dies in the water, at the end the 4 are shown together in the "heaven"

Cody - BlackPink discography is small but extremely high quality - you will like almost everyone of their songs - YG is know for their high quality - spare no expense - high budget productions. Let me know if you find one of their songs you do not like. Some album songs just have audio, other songs will have a dance practice video, and others will have an official MV ( music video) - then there are special stages - Korean Music Contest ( now rare for BP to participate in music contests) then there are the late night show performances - and finally, their live concerts while on tour. A good example of each is what they have done for Pink Venom and Shut Down - look at all of the versions of Pink Venom and Shut Down and you will see how they produce each one differently. See their live stage for the last VMA where they sang Pink Venom and Lisa won best K-pop and then see their first performance at Coachella as the first Korean girl group to play the festival. And the special performance in Paris at the Charity Concert sponsored by President Marcon’s wife where they played pink Venom and Shut Down - these two live performances were broadcast live on French TV with the venue packed 16:25 with their fans - Blinks. They brought the house down with the audience singing their songs with them and the orchestra -so loud you could only hear the blinks sing- these two are a must see - make sure you get the French TV streamed version on utube which is higher quality audio and video.
