- Tata Motors has unveiled the more powerful version of the Altroz called the Racer. It’s powered by the same 1.2L turbocharged engine that does duty in the iTurbo, but is more powerful at 117bhp and 170Nm. It also gets a 6-speed manual transmission.

Ventilation in seats what I love the most.
I think pricing would be around 11-11.5L ex-showroom (top end variant)..as along with engine they are also giving sunroof, ventilated seats, wireless charging and new infotainment...so I am sure pricing would on higher side as compared to regular iTurbo Altroz.

It looks amazing & stunning. For Altroz there was no options but to offer much more than competition offering as the Sales nos. were not improving after the launch of face-lifted i20 & Baleno. Punch Sales nos have also affected the Sales of its own siblings Altroz, Tigor & Tiago.
Such a beautiful car,needed much awaited interior update , infotainment and meter console...meter console's block design is a bit dislike ,but still better...the screen of infotainment unit ( with the ui shown in the ad) should make it to all their cars asap...
The i20N line has a very responsive DCT gearbox and for those who want to drive it as a city commuter and a highway machine it suits both purposes. For the Altroz to truly be called an i20 killer Tata needs to introduce a killer Torque converter gearbox.
Altroz does have a dct varient already.

@@vinu138 Yeah, if this comes with a DCA. It will be mind blowing. Although, DCA without the turbo engine is also very peppy.
Killed it in the segment, I own an iTurbo, wish this was launched at that time.
I think it is not going to replace iTurbo, this is a different edition entirely. It should cost somewhere around 12 on road based on features. It has the same Nexon engine now which iTurbo didn't get. iTurbo produces 108 BHP and 140 N-m torque whereas this Racer edition will produce 118 BHP and 170 N-m torque. Paired with 6 speed MT and best handling in segment, it'll surely be a fun to drive car.

That side indicator on fender and not on ORVM is still makes not so premium. Tata made it on ORVM for Punch then why not update on Altroz.

Proud owner of Tata Altroz I-Turbo, now I will have its ECU remapped and it will perform same as Altroz Racer, with the only exception of 6-speed manual.

Better engine, better looks, an all new sunroof, 10.25" infotainment system, better interior design, blacked out alloys and above all a 5 ⭐ safety rating. i20 doesn't even hold water. Kudos Tata, just keep the X-showroom prince under 10 lakhs and much more closer to 9 lakhs 💪

But nexon is heavier and bigger car power to weight ratio matter not just power.
