"It's horse leather!" Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!! What an ice breaker! That's hilarious because it's a true sign this guy is serious, but in all reality doesn't take himself all that 'serious'.
Thank you very much for being a big fan. I took my time to look at my fans and followers on social media and I noticed you're a big fan of mine. I have taken my time to appreciate some of my fans with my private email matthiesschoenaerts@gmail.com and you are one lucky one.. Thank you, much love
Thank you Robert Redford for making this movie. Excellent Matthias for bringing the human, tender, firm quality of training wild mustangs in view for the world. I own a precious Mustang and she is so special. Lets save our wild mustangs. Do not let the BLM zero them out or become extinct. Please fight and speak out for them. They need us to help them any way we can. Great film of all time. Training horses is a.special talent. Save our wild mustangs and burros. Please get involved and get educated on their plight.

Watch Rundskop, known as Bullhead. His breakthrough movie. Got nominated for best foreign movie oscar. I am from Belgium and that movie is so realistic, brutal, dramatic and violent. In my top 5 ever. Seen it +10 times

Great actor in this film and all of the 5 or 6 films he's in that I've seen thus far. This was a fun interview but how strange that they left out Carey Mulligan from Far From The Maddening Crowd, which I just watched this week. AND she actually sings a song beautifully in the film! I LOVE that film!
The bought the horse he fells on love with. Being with horses makes you fell in love with these lovely souls. I have 2 horses, 5 dogs and 3 cats.... my horses and dogs makes my days great.
I really identity and love what he said about not looking at people as 'male & female' just see ALL people as clever, creative and good fun to work with. Everyone, everybody has something to bring to the table. And even if not everyone is going to appreciate them, there's always the one who will see their effort and beauty. Let me say this for races; hey folks God created the humanity and each human has come to this beautiful earth this beautiful world with uniqueness and are ALL special. 💘 😻 💜 💛 💚 🧡 love to you all.
Watched the whole interview. He touches on many things that make movies and making movies so wonderful if that magic happens. He generally makes it happen from what I have seen of his work so far. Like Tom Hardy so saw The Drop. Schoenaerts plays the bad guy but after watching a few times attention shifted to him. He is a quiet menace. Of course he is a mental case and that alters the relationship with Nadia who didn't want him around. The dog steals the scenes too often. Do wish they would subtitle his non-English work. He is a wonderful actor with great presence.

It's a beautifully made film- the soundtrack is hauntingly gorgeous- but it's definitely a hard watch, no easy answers. That is most certainly not a criticism, though. Just an observation.
cuchelo1 I love this depth of art , the artist job is to portray what we could never really portray as meaningful as possible without setting off BS alarm or turning someone’s story into anything “money / agenda / shaming / culture /political’ other than an immersive experience worth paying for , this is amazing and magical when done right , it’s orchestra of light , sound , idea and execution that deserve awards , not what elitist believe or the industry /media are hired to do , the best films are 60/70% NOT what the industry is pushed to do or the investors give a shit about , they do not live in these film’s lives ,
What wasn't clear in the film: the holding facilities the Bureau of Land Management imprisons these horses, sometimes for their entire lives, have no shelter from sun, wind, storms. They get no vet care. Thousands have been sent to butchered alive in Mexican and Canadian slaughter plants. These round ups are ALL for the benefit of cattle ranchers, who get free or nearly free leases on public lands for grazing. These ranchers will fence off streams so the horses cannot drink, and the BLM steps in and imprisons or slaughters them. In the helicopter roundups, many mustangs break their legs. Babies' hooves literally snap off. The prods you see them use are 5000 volts.
What happens to the animals after the movie and were they protected during the making and producing of this movie??? Were they taken care of properly and respected by all the people???
Horrible for the horse to be screamed out in that scene...script should have been written differently. Don't like this movie...Far From the Madding Crowd is another story... Matthias was great a Gabriel. Poor guy dealing with this interviewer..
Interestingly enough, high end leather jackets are quite often made out of horse leather. It’s suppler than cow leather has a tighter grain, and it wears way better
He was excellent in Far from the Madding Crowd. Quiet strength, powerful in patience. One of my fave movies and actor.
My favorite movies of his for sure!
yeah... I just wish someone wouldve replaced Carey Mulligan and overall rewritten the movie script for her character
Matthias is such a wonderful actor. Love hearing my favorite actor talk about horses in such a thoughtful, intuitive way!
Saw the movie, super terrific actor, intelligent human being.
You should watch the movie on Netflix, A Little Chaos. He is in it with Kate Winslet.
That's kobe btw
he's Belgian what do you think :)
i like his voice .. The tone of his voice charming lovely
This human being is Brilliant. Everything in him is awake. Thanks Matthias!

ALL I WANT TO SAY IS ANIMALS ARE BETTER THAN US HUMANS, PERIOD. I LOVE❤ ALL ANIMALS!!❤
Some animals eat their children
Love his raspy voice.
He’s a smoker, hence the damaged voice. But I love his work.
Une très bon acteur qui fait honneur à la Belgique et aussi à la langue française et anglaise. Il est super dans chacun de ses rôles. Bravo
le neerlandais aussi

*THAT JOKE THO* 😂

As animal lover and vegan a pity people still wear jackets from murdered animals. But he is a wonderful actor.
He said it was a joke... It might be faux leather
Respect the animals at all times cause they can injure you...

O cara é top em qualquer papel...maravilhoso
just me or his voice sound like Tom Hardy

Wasnt he in the drop?
Yes, he was playing that wierd guy who was stalking the girl.
Yes, with other great actors, Tom Hardy and James Gandolfini. A MUST SEE
He was in the big splash too , sexy af
What happens to the animals after the movie and were they protected during the making and producing of this movie??? Were they taken care of properly and respected by all the people???
I actually take care of this horse sometimes. He belongs to the producer, and is spoiled rotten.

🙄🙄🙄 the horse
His co-star that he fell in love with was the horse, so the "in love" statement is not literal in the "omg I love you" sense.
