Naw, the book is probably more of a code for the family that Shin himself most likely wrote so that he and his decedents won't be filled with the same shame and embarrassment Shin feels. In the cobbler episode, we learned cobbler was banned because of Mao Mao trying to bake multiple cobblers for the family but burns down their house instead. So Shin probably banned cobbler from then on out as a means to protect the family. The episode with Aunt Gloria seems to take place during Mao Mao's childhood pre-hero, so cobbler was probably not yet banned by Shin.
