Jens Thank you for the tour! Yes, it is a special yard. The Dragonflys are just the very most sophisticated artifacts of shipbuilding. I will never forget the week in Danish waters on a Dragonfly 27, fabulous sailing, nice living on board. Never seen a sailing yacht capable for adventures even in the most shallow waters, being safe and comfortable - and fast. I am talking about fast, Danish waters become narrow.
@Agent J I guess if you want a condo that floats, or a party barge with sails on it, that is fine. These things represent a very different philosophy, and they are something a lot of people just won't get. If you think having a laundry machine on board is totally worth a speed reduction of 1.5 knots, you are not the target audience for something like this.
I admire those dragonfly tri's, altho I also admire the fisher motorsailers of which one was spotted while you were showing the tri's at the marina. If I win the lottery, I would purchase a D 40 and sail it across the atlantic if I can be assured that it can handle that kind of wind.
