      @@alexjohnson3696 Hi again Alex.
I suggest you may want to get a test ride on one first if you can.
I have ridden a number of Drz 400s, (and their Kawasaki stablemates), and they are are almost at opposing ends of the dual sport segment.
      I will explain further...
The SWM is a lot closer to a full blown enduro race bike, like say a KTM 500 or similar, than it is to the DRZ type of heavy, stable trail bikes.
It is a lot more powerful, and deceptively fast when you open it up, and quite tall to accommodate the long travel suspension too.
Would almost certainly not be as comfortable for long days in the saddle as your current machine should think.
Horses for courses Alex. It all depends on the types of riding you mostly intend to do.
      Cheers, ride safe

I just got one awesome bike really good value. Great suspension great handling excellent power, what a blast to ride. Absolutely love my new swm rs500r.. feels good on the tarmac enough power for long distances.

@Trevor Ward yes still standard gearing as it suits the local terrain well. Top speed is fast enough as you will see in video uploading right now 😉

Excellent summary of the bike's capabilities off the tarmac. The countryside looks to be be in very good shape too and you capture its beauty very well. Seat? Comfortable for a 188cm rider or would you have to sit too far back for comfort.? This is an important consideration as if we're talking adveture bike, as well as off road, that concept also includes long hours on the bike travelling to get somewhere else.

    • @mototouro
      @mototouro  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Steve,
I definitely wouldn't be buying this bike if long hours on the tarmac are involved.
Horses for courses, as the old saying goes, there are plenty of better options for that purpose.
The SWM is better mainly as a serious point and shoot off road weapon with the occasional bit of bitumen thrown in.
All the modern high end enduro bikes from the big brands are suitable for tall riders; shorter riders may need to fit a lowering link.

Really interested in the bike. I have a Tuareg 660 and I'm looking for something that can do more technical trails that I can lift without help. 2 questions: how does it do on the tarmac at about 100km (need to use the tarmac to get to the trails)? And, how loud is it (trying to save what hearing I still have)? Thanks for the video on this intriguing bike. Can't beat the price.

    • @mototouro

      Hi Mike,
The SWM is fine to cruise on at 100kph. Virtually bulletproof Husqvarna design with modern ignition etc. Have a look in both my SWM videos as I do bitumen sections in both of those.
Standard twin exhaust are not overly loud, I too don't like noisy bikes and it's fine. Has lovely throaty note when under hard acceleration.
The replacement Arrow single muffler/exhaust is noticeably louder I'm told.
      Enjoy 😃

Hi Brett, glad you enjoyed it, where are you from?
As for pillion pegs, af1racing.com has them for $126usd. Might need to upgrade the rear shock spring to cope though. I have just ordered a new one for mine as the original lost tension and is now out of spec for rider and static sag🤔
