    Literally this is by far the best airstream tour I’ve ever watched!!! Thank you guys! I would love a Caravel spaceship 🚀 ❤️ (I love the interior, but the Bambi is a perfect size for my cat and I).

    @thomaskrutulis2289 4 ปีที่แล้ว +47

    What they need to make is twins on a track base that split for daytime looks or unrelated guests etc, but slide together and latch for sleeping together and then putting the space around the outer perimeter. Bam, perfect solution

      NICE! I'd second that idea!

      You are not the only one in the world that has that thought. Was thinking something similar myself. It's a shame these expensive manufacturers are not. Or perhaps there are those that do, but those that do the tours do not do enough homework on what they are looking at.

    A quick suggestion: keep the name & specs of the model you’re looking at the bottom of the video the entire time. That way, when us viewers jump forward to a different part of your video, we know exactly what we’re looking at! :) Thank you for the great video!

    I like the Flying Cloud with the rear hatch. If you store the table, you can load stuff (like a kayak or bikes) via the hatch.

    • @IreneIronTravels
      @IreneIronTravels  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yeah, that hatch was pretty cool! Lots of versatility and it would just be awesome to have that open while having breakfast on a lake!😎

    You both did a great job showing the pros and cons of each units. Kudos for showing the prices. This gives potential buyers the data they need to their decision. Me I love my 23 foot Class C as I don’t feel comfortable towing. Plus take 2 Labs and 1 English Springer Spaniel.

    • @IreneIronTravels

    Over priced, and there all over priced with,lack of insulation. Better more insulation with other models, there out dated on development .

      Show me ONE model that’s a four season trailer. Then follow up and show me one that doesn’t condensate during the fourth winter season. Let me spare you the research.
      Not one. (Unless you get a wood stove)
      So spare me the insulation argument. I’ve lived in mine year around from 26 degrees to 105 and have been comfortable in them.
      So unless you go into negative -30 then I’d recommend you going to Hilton.

    As said below, these are overpriced and there are better options out there. I have one and if I want to sell it I would lose about 18 grand, so don’t fall for the they hold their value better than other RVs.

    I know you’re not buying, but look at the 25’ REAR bedroom. It has a bigger bathroom, and you can have both a microwave and a regular gas oven. Front bedroom you can only have one or the other. You guys have a great channel! Keep up the good work!

    This was a fun video! Thanks! I love the Caravel, not sure I spelled it right. I am just concerned about towing. Lots of concern. I am really interested in the new Panoramic class b rv coming out of Canada. Think it would be perfect for one person. A dry bath would be wonderful, but have to go to Europe for a class b with that. You guys are so cute. Doing a great job!

    • @IreneIronTravels
      @IreneIronTravels  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That Caravel is a nice unit! Just looked at the Panoramic and it is a pretty cool van! A class B is defiantly easier to get around in than a towable. We love the ease of it! Thanks for watching!😀

    I don't know why I am watching these videos when I know I am being evicted next week and will be homeless with now no job to go back to. Honestly though the woodwork and features in the bigger ones are so stunningly beautiful. I have loved the look of Airstream since I was a little boy when I thought they were spaceships. My neighbour has a mobile home which I thought was so lovely but these are so classy and that look is unique and opulent.

    Great job as always. Jeff I’m sure was tickled pink:) they’re all beautiful. But Interstate GT is for me! Quality of the build is everything. Chris your white long sleeve AS sweatshirt(?) printed along the sleeve “Live RIVETED” that to me is where it’s at. Quality all the way around. They are expensive but I think worth every penny for something the founder never meant to be retired. Match that!

    23’ is PERFECT for one person. 2 it’s not bad either but lack of comfortable long term seating is an issue. 2+1 kid it’s a bit snug. I mean snug.
    If you can afford it the 25’ is perfect for a family of 3.
    I have the 23’ flying cloud front bedroom. Wish I would have sprung for the 25’. But it’s mostly for work for me so it’s perfect.

    Meh, horrible insulation and if they develop a small leak (with all the seams not unusual) it is almost impossible to locate. Also over weight when compared with modern fiberglass campers with similar amenities. Price of course goes without saying.

    to meet the answer is non, they have almost no storage space especially if you compare them to a normal RV, they are extremely expensive,, the narrow body doesn't help prevent the claustrophobia feeling that comes with RVs, you really can't go up on the roof uninstall solar panels as you could on a normal RV, you are better off getting a normal RV and doing proper maintenance on it as well as preventive maintenance every 6 months

    I think if I were thin the 20 foot would be wonderful. But for a large person not so much. I’ve lived in a Sport 16 for almost three years and it’s pretty good and an *excellent* layout for a large person with a larger center isle than any other Airstream. And it has everything I need. Every time I think I want a bigger trailer I can’t stand to give up u-turns and being able to park in basically any driveway.

    Why a van vs a trailer? Do you unhook every time you want to go somewhere or do you tow a vehicle? Seems like a trailer would be easier to travel with and give more room a flexibility? Enjoyed your video! You guys are good on camera.

    • @IreneIronTravels
      @IreneIronTravels  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there. We prefer the ease of use in a van right now. We've been full time for just over a year now and we like that we can pretty much take our van anywhere and park anywhere anytime. We did a lot of big east coast cites last year and this year we are out west exploring more of nature. ( Well... not so much right now.) We like always have everything with us too. No tow vehicle or anything on top or hanging off the back. But, your right a trailer has a ton more room and having a truck would give some flexibility on exploring. We had fun looking at the trailers(maybe some day), but we love our van. Thanks for watching!

    Nice video comparison. I have a 25' Airstream and really like it after seven years. It is easy to get around but I would say that there is little difference between the 25,26,27 or 28 foot Airstreams as they are all within 2 feet of each other in actual length. For many years the 25 was the best selling model as it is the smallest big trailer (wide body, bigger tanks, etc.). I have come to certain layout designs- twin beds, couch, all-in-one bath. The 26' is a model I like in the newer models.

      Thank you for watching. Yeah, it is a tough choice..... so many options! Your probably right, not a whole lot difference in towing a couple feet. Thanks for the comment.- Aaron

    IMO all the beds are wayyyy too small. I need a standard queen at a bare min @ 6'3" tall and my wife is 5'10" so these little beds won't work. Great video and content! Keep up the hard work :D

    • @IreneIronTravels
      @IreneIronTravels  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ya, the RV beds can be a little challenging for the tall. I guess that's why a lot of people change out the mattresses.... not to mention upgrading to a more residential feel too. Our bed is also the "RV Queen" and its doable for me at 6'1'' but I do hang off at times! Thanks a lot for watching and for commenting. - Aaron

  • @elizabethrice9611
    @elizabethrice9611 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    they are all so nice. I noticed the lack of a microwave that some lesser trailers seem to have as standard, but that one trailer that has the drawer that pulled out with the Microwave was clever.

    • @IreneIronTravels
      @IreneIronTravels  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello and thanks for watching! You had me wondering, so I just checked the website and it looks like a microwave is standard on all of the models except for the Basecamp, where it is an option. A convection micro is optional also, except on the classic where it is standard. Since these were kinda brief walkthroughs we might have missed some. Thanks!

      Nope. Not a single leak. My buddy has a four season trailer and he’s constantly fixing and fighting leaks. Others I’ve seen have tarps on top of their rv to prevent leaks. Spend 40k and five seasons later you have leaks?

    After seeing your interview with Cass, I am really wanting the basecamp x. I travel with a cat and struggle with where to put the litterbox in a small camper. Cass setup works perfectly with the litterbox underneath her bed. I was considering the casita but did not like the carpet on the walls but the base camp x has everything I need and want.

    Which one can the sprinter van pull. If you have a van for short couple trips, and the trailer when you bringing the three teenagers along?

    • @IreneIronTravels
      @IreneIronTravels  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A new Sprinter van can tow between 5,000-7,500 LBs depending on the model. If you mean a converted Sprinter like the Airstream Interstate that says it can tow 5,000 lbs. Check out this guy, he is doing just that! www.airstream.com/blog/ambassador-kevin-clabert/ He states : This tow package gives the Atlas, Interstate EXT, and Interstate Nineteen the needed capacity to tow up to 5,000 lbs. or enough to bring along any of single axle travel trailers in our lineup (Nest, Basecamp, Bambi, Caravel).

    • @ReflectedMiles
      @ReflectedMiles 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, except even yacht insulation is usually more effective than Airstream's with all that highly-conductive aluminum everywhere. It's a great design for mild-climate use, though some of the exterior panels in the video looked a little uneven or pre-dented and even minor damage can be really expensive. There's an Airstream Kid lesson: If you have a baseball and bat, think of the whole trailer as being glass.
