I just deleted my discord account yesterday, and I actually don't regret it. I'll miss my friends and all but I needed a break from this. There's a CHANCE I'll see them in Highschool anyway.

Never felt better to ditch your past :) Edit after 10 months later: Looking back at this nearly a year later, this aged like burnt wine from hell. Even my new friends had ghosted me just like my older ones in just a few days. Ended up being depressed for a few months due to social issues till i decided that i was going to hijack one of my only few closest friends' account even if it meant backstabbing him just to get access to my old friends again. Long story short, never talked to me ever again ever since but hey, at least I managed to clear up some beef between me and my best friend back from grade 2 whom i hated so much to the point of wanting to wish him dead and one of my older friends had actually talked to me for the 1st time in a while and our friendship is going really well as of right now. Though most of them have definitely forgotten my existence, at least some were willing to greet me with open arms again even if they are a very major minority from what they used to be and i've even met some new ones too in the process. Overall, i regret deleting my account. I feel like a fucking dumbass for doing stupid shit like that. Never thought my "new" friends would be even worse than the ones ive known for so long in so many years.

I’m currently in a relationship online. I’ve known her for over a year before we started dating. She has an awesome personality and she’s fun to talk to. Recently, I’ve been feeling pretty lonely. She didn’t really talk or play with me much. There was another guy she liked talking to. I started to ask him what she was up to because she didn’t really talk to me. He sent me ss and stuff. I got jealous and mad. I started questioning her. We got into a fight and she wanted to end it. I really did not want our relationship to end so I calmed down and begged her not to. She said we were going to take a break. I honestly feel so broken rn. Sometimes there’s stuff I shouldn’t know so I don’t get paranoid. I’m really hoping for us to fix out relationship. I’m never going to make the same mistake again.

When we finally separated after another big lie (out of jealousy and manipulation tricks), the separation got ugly (stalking, more manipulation, making each other paranoid and stuff) cuz we tried to be friends (we just missed each other too much)... Yeah there were real feelings but it was way too unhealthy. I felt more and more relieved of that pressure after getting rid of him. Anyway he wasn't my only online relationship, i had two online friendships with gamers, who lied a lot too. I will never ever get back to such online relationships, real life is just the real stuff, I don't regret it a bit I hope you got more luck, just don't let it get too toxic and pay attention to the hints (talking about suicide or making you feel bad is manipulating, mine did that too). After we ended contact for real (after so many tries in relationship and friendship), I felt like dying, I would never find such love again (he was my first love). I didn't find another yet, but I finally know for sure: The next love only can be better because we were so fcking toxic.. Now it changed, after 14 days, you will be removed from every server except the ones you own, all of their friends will also be removed, any messages they sent will say Deleted User with the name tag 0000 and the purple discord logo, their DMs will say Deleted User (with a random number of letters and numbers and the name tag will be what their name tag use to be) and the profile picture will be the discord logo and the color will be what it was when they created their account, and the email can be used again when they create a new account

Before you delete, you can say a goodbye note to a friend. Where you thank them for the time they spent, and you can give a reason as to why you're deleting your account.
I had a really great friendship with a guy on discord. Then his main got deleted and ive been trying my best to search for an alt until now I've given up.
I only made 1 friend in the year 2020. We met from games, he told me he has discord. And we chatted. A few days later.. he said he got tracked, and said "don't add friends with strangers." He deleted his account that he got tracked on. He made a new account and I added him again. We chatted again, he deleted his account again and added his another new account because it has too many friend request that are annoying? After that, he said he watches kimetsu no yaiba and recommends me to watch it. He gave me some spoilers tho... He always says "gn" in midnight. Yup.. that was the last thing he said before his account got deleted.. "gn".. Yesterday.. I downloaded the game where we met.. he used to added me as friend in the game. Not it's gone..? Actually, once the account gets deleted, it automatically leaves all servers and removes all added people. Yeah im aware this is old, they even now changed the name deletion, before it was "Deleted user (random numbers) now its only "Deleted User#0000"

It’s important to take breaks. I personally didn’t delete it but I took a long break from it. When I felt better I came back to the app again. When I took the break from discord I found myself again and I am doing so much better now.

Your comfort is more important. Maybe leave them a long and nice message thanking them for the friendship but it's time for you to move on. Wish them well and then move forward :) if you still want to go through with it

And when you’re feeling nostalgic and in a different headspace, you can come back and enjoy the memories and perhaps even reconnect with the people you liked the most. But I definitely suggest you take a few month break :)

The problem with internet friends is that you can't tell them everything. And it could take time off of irl friendships. Instead, deepen the friendships you already have. And if you find your irl friendships are bad, the universe will put people into your life.
I actually got a message about this, scheduled for August 8. I logged off and logged on discord 2 times, and logged on my account I use via Discord, however i didn't receive message about my account not being scheduled for deletion anymore. Yes, delete. And don't use discord again unless necessary. Also, you can also delete all your messages on different servers at once using a script. Look it up. This guy also has a good video on that.
What's the point in having a Discord account? All Discord owners are really horrible at being fair. Their rules don't make sense. Their "rules" are like "if you say hi to people then you will get an instant ban for attention seeking". That's what I mean that owners of Discord servers are trash. And when some don't get banned, they get treated like trash for no reason. Some owners allow people to "expose" others in public just to make the victims feel miserable. Also all of your "friends" don't have time to voice chat or text with you but they do with people you don't know. They're not your friends. They are fakers that pretend to be your friend. Discord is more of a bullying app than a "good" place to chat with "online friends." If you're one of the people with anger issues, then I really don't recommend you to get a Discord account unless you're only adding with your real life friends because at least they care for you more than people who go there 24/7 being douchebags without having their time off the internet. If you deleted your Discord account and you're reading this, then good for you and keep up with making your life better.

So lemme see if anyone knows the solution to this one: Imagine I had two accounts, one was a junk while the other was the main account. If I delete the junk one, will it also get rid of the main one? I used different emails for the two accounts although for the junk I mistakingly used 2FA then once I deleted the account, I uninstalled 2FA so it got unlinked and the only way to get BACK to the junk account is 2FA but to link 2FA, I need to do it with the junk account. Edit: It got fixed BUT for those with my issue or problem, you should have got a list of 8-digit codes when you did 2FA which you Copy + Paste into the login when it asks.
It depends. It states on their website that “To meet our safety and security commitments. We retain certain information (including email addresses and phone numbers) for 180 days after deletion for trust and safety purposes”. So basically they hold it for six months. However if your account is flagged that information will be held for 2 years.

When you showed the deleted account in that random server it wasn't a deleted account that's just their username. As you can see they still have a tag, if they were deleted it would say #0000

So if you delete an account, it's like it still sorta exists. It just no longer can be accessed and no name or pfp is attached. I don't like that because it means you can never remake an account with that same email or number. I did that for one app before and it locked the account because the email was used. Account deleted but the site still knew my email.
u can still reuse the same email & number after a certain point what i don’t agree is that every message you’ve ever sent on the deleted account will stay forever as of present day.

If you get banned in a server and delete the account it was banned from and you try to join the server you were banned on, on an alt. You still be banned?
@@whoisSakura it will stay. Disabling accounts is mainly for when you aren't home for a long time. It is meant to block your account until you tell Discord to unblock it. It is used to prevent people getting into your account while you're on vacation for example.

After that, he said he watches kimetsu no yaiba and recommends me to watch it. He gave me some spoilers tho... He always says "gn" in midnight. Yup.. that was the last thing he said before his account got deleted.. "gn"..

I personally didn’t delete it but I took a long break from it. When I felt better I came back to the app again. When I took the break from discord I found myself again and I am doing so much better now.

I think you have to wait like a month or more before the account is terminated officially and the email comes back

And when you’re feeling nostalgic and in a different headspace, you can come back and enjoy the memories and perhaps even reconnect with the people you liked the most. But I definitely suggest you take a few month break :)

The problem with internet friends is that you can't tell them everything. And it could take time off of irl friendships. Instead, deepen the friendships you already have. And if you find your irl friendships are bad, the universe will put people into your life.

What's the point in having a Discord account? All Discord owners are really horrible at being fair. Their rules don't make sense. Their "rules" are like "if you say hi to people then you will get an instant ban for attention seeking". That's what I mean that owners of Discord servers are trash. And when some don't get banned, they get treated like trash for no reason. Some owners allow people to "expose" others in public just to make the victims feel miserable. Also all of your "friends" don't have time to voice chat or text with you but they do with people you don't know. They're not your friends. They are fakers that pretend to be your friend. Discord is more of a bullying app than a "good" place to chat with "online friends." If you're one of the people with anger issues, then I really don't recommend you to get a Discord account unless you're only adding with your real life friends because at least they care for you more than people who go there 24/7 being douchebags without having their time off the internet. If you deleted your Discord account and you're reading this, then good for you and keep up with making your life better.

Imagine I had two accounts, one was a junk while the other was the main account. If I delete the junk one, will it also get rid of the main one? I used different emails for the two accounts although for the junk I mistakingly used 2FA then once I deleted the account, I uninstalled 2FA so it got unlinked and the only way to get BACK to the junk account is 2FA but to link 2FA, I need to do it with the junk account.
Edit: It got fixed BUT for those with my issue or problem, you should have got a list of 8-digit codes when you did 2FA which you Copy + Paste into the login when it asks.

It depends. It states on their website that “To meet our safety and security commitments. We retain certain information (including email addresses and phone numbers) for 180 days after deletion for trust and safety purposes”. So basically they hold it for six months. However if your account is flagged that information will be held for 2 years.
Keep in mind Discord has been fined for violating GDPR in the past sho we don’t know how much this company even follows their own rules🤷🏾♂️

When you showed the deleted account in that random server it wasn't a deleted account that's just their username. As you can see they still have a tag, if they were deleted it would say #0000

So if you delete an account, it's like it still sorta exists. It just no longer can be accessed and no name or pfp is attached. I don't like that because it means you can never remake an account with that same email or number. I did that for one app before and it locked the account because the email was used. Account deleted but the site still knew my email.
u can still reuse the same email & number after a certain point what i don’t agree is that every message you’ve ever sent on the deleted account will stay forever as of present day.

Unless you downloaded a data package before that users account got deleted then you can't view the messages again

@@whoisSakura it will stay. Disabling accounts is mainly for when you aren't home for a long time. It is meant to block your account until you tell Discord to unblock it. It is used to prevent people getting into your account while you're on vacation for example.
