What level of optical focus adjustment do they have, for those who have good eyesight but are old enough to need help focusing under 20cm from our faces? A good screen is one thing, but when it's under minimum distance, even normal analog will be clearer if it's got di-opter adjustment.
Glad you like the foam. Our early test units had thinner foam making the goggles unwearable. Thicker foam was the only rhing all the testing guys suggested they change.
Hey Stu. I'm really happy you've found a way to better your mindstate and that you're back to consistently making videos again. I think entry level HD goggles are going to be a big step forward for the new folks that are getting into the hobby.
i hope that walksnail can make tiny whoop vtx v2 . it would be great for beginner and sold like combo kit for starter . it would be game changer for whoop community
I 100% agree. this on a whoop,. like a real whoop, not just a small drone, would be epic. just out of interest? any paticular whoop build you love. i want to build another one and keen to try something new

Do you think that since the Avatar HD Googles X released in October 2023, we are going to see a new and improved version releasing soon from walksnail for their flagship? I'm looking at entering FPV and would rather buy the best and hold till it's actually worth upgrading. So, I am thinking about going with these for now until i get my feet wet. Would like to hear your opinion on this.
Me, if I only got one, I would stick with my HDZero goggles. Yes they’re expensive, but I have both analog and digital quads. Love my goggles! Nice vid Stu.
the foam on mine at the top is to thick, foam at the bottom near and around the nose needs moving outwards. basicly the goggles for my face need tilting upwards, shame there is no different foam kits around.
Yeeup. Caddx has a good enough product with by far the widest range of flexibility in what size drones you can put a digital system in, but they keep releasing new products that are half baked and not finishing the last round of products. If they actually stopped and finished baking what’s already out today they could be the best option for most with hdzero getting the racers and dji getting the ones who have a reason or want to spend for it in larger drones. Still, I wish avatar hd was open source or open to others making hardware. That’s the one drawback is that it’s entirely reliant on caddx existing and choosing to support it.
DJI vs Walksnail is easy.. If you absolutely require the most penetration then it's the O3. The Walksnail is not going to go beyond DJI's hard distance limit if the flying is done behind a lot of obstruction. When obstruction is involved, the O3 will always outperform Walksnail. If that's not an issue then Walksnail is just easier to set up.
Would you recommend for long-ish range... 4 to 8k. Knowing that would be a game changer for me as I start a new build and haven't decided on analog or this system.
I already have a Walksnail VRX, but no goggles yet. Should I buy the Walksnail Avatar HD Goggles L or should I buy other goggles and connect it to the VRX? (Low price is a priority for me)
Hye thanks for the videos! I'm new in the hobbie and bought the Goggles, but now I wonder, can they connect to any HD vtx system? Of just the avatar hd systems? Thanks!
Hi Stew, I happen to love my EV-800D, what's not to like. Diversity, dvr, big screen, and you can mount it on a tripod for people can watch my flying. Yeah, I know they are heavy, and they were better than the EV-100 you reviewed, and I purchased. But back to the Caddx Walksnail googles. If I was starting out, they are the only googles I would get.
I started with the EV800D's. They were great. I actually regret selling them. When I upgraded to the Skyzone 02c goggles, I was a little let down because I was actually getting better reception with the EV800D's.
yep sure. how long is too long though? like I can do how far I feel like flying, but I bet these could GO MUCH FURTHER but that may not be wise on my end
I own the goggles X and although I haven't tried the Goggle L I still believe the overall experience with the L will be better. Prior to buying the Goggles X I had Skyzone Cobra. I still prefer box goggles although I sold the Cobra because of the 720p.
@@UAVfutures Yes, I do prefer the box goggles for a few reasons. Firstly, the goggles X don't allow me to see the OSD corners unless I completely remove the face plate, but then light gets in. The IPD adjustment is just a tad short for me and it takes my eyes some time to adjust (I don't wear glasses). The only down side of the box goggles is that they are bulky.
because the actual air unit is too large for an actual "tiny whoop" you can still build very very small indorr crafts but and actual tiny whoop I think this is just a tad too heavy for the drone to carry. Did I explain that well?
I’m wondering what the apparent FOV of these is like compared to the Recon HDs 3.5” (44°) and the Goggles X (50°). The Recon screen is so small that 1080P is kinda wasted, I can barely read the OSD. The Goggles X is still too small for me, I'm ruined by the Headplay HD IMAX like experience, but it’s 7” LCD is only 1280 x 800.
I own two pairs of Integras and Walksnail Goggles X and you are correct. However, 150 bucks might make a difference for some entering the hobby. Not for me fortunately, but for some. Great entry goggles.
