It is always like this. The first round the Thais make you believe you have a chance but in reality they study you to destroy you in the next rounds. So this was just a lucky punch.
A lot of Thais come out slow and feel out their opponents before upping the tempo more and more. Of course all fighters are different but I noticed that about a lot of traditional Thai fighters, start very slow finish very strong
It’s not luck. It’s training, commitment, dedication, hard work, passion, pain… If you can’t understand that then your opinion is absolutely pointless. Have a nice day.

That was in the first round and was probably more luck than anything else. Dida was then allowed to experience his catharsis through pain in three more rounds and Buakaw had won the fight sovereign.
It's not luck mate, red shorts just has better boxing, if this was an actual MMA fight it would also have been over then (as soon as Buakaw went down he'd get subbed), though obviously that's a very different sport entirely. Buakaw is just ridiculously durable (probably looking at some serious CTE buildup eventually though), but it's well known that the Thai's have poor boxing due to their fighting style. It's rare to see a Thai with solid boxing, but when they do appear they usually dominate other fighters in their circuit because of it. If you have solid Muay Thai, and solid Boxing, you already have a major advantage, if you only have one, well, the Thai's usually have a significant experience advantage alongside pretty insane durability due to how they train. In the longer fight Buakaw just did what he normally does, work the legs and the body until you literally can't fight anymore, which will take away the Boxing aspect as well. In the first round before he picked up this was mostly about hands, and Buakaw isn't the best Boxer in the world, let's face it.
@@AveSicarius It's the peculiarity of the Thais to 'read' her opponent in the first round and not yet go full throttle, in order to then turn on their tactics, which was also very easy to see here. Unfortunately, this often also harbors certain risks. After his rise in K1, Buakaw traveled to the USA and trained there solely to improve his boxing skills and he was considered one of the toughest punchers since then. You may be right about 'durable', but ultimately it's the ability to take blows that separate the wheat from the chaff, so what?
I give the guy prop, yeah, but when Buakaw decided it was time to turn it on I couldn't help but feel bad for the guy. He started the first round with everything he had, respectfully taking B as seriously as he could. Buakaw went from spar mode to fight mode and D looked like the noodle on lady and the tramp.

Muay Thai fighters are notorious for starting slow, but this is their actual strategy. They’re conditioned to tolerate and survive enough rounds in order to 1) familiarize themselves with the opponents timings and habits 2) program them (imagine throwing low kicks 50 times, and then 1 high kick when the opponent is expecting low) and slowly chip away at them to weaken them. 3) finally strike when the opponent is either gassed or low on steam.

That hook looked like it just clipped him, making him lose his balance but didn’t really get him. Didn’t seem to be a solid hit, his head didn’t snap back and leave a mist of sweat getting jolted off his face.
It has happened a lot. MA boxers have been kicked into the balls by Muay Thai fighters. These two types of fighters cannot be measured against each other because the rules are different. Each person has advantages and disadvantages.😅😅😅
Whenever ive seen buakaw fight someone with good boxing he almost always ditches his muay thai everytime to try and overtake them. Im sure he doesnt do that with every fight, but its funny it happens whenever ive seen him fight 😂
You just spent time doing an epic breakdown of the only 3 seconds that belonged to Dida in the entire fight. For those you know, the creator of this video was on this clip like a fat kid on a cupcake.
He got Buakaw here because he was too tired to bend his knees and weave properly that's why the last resort lean back. Fair play but the boxing was mediocre example of a gazelle punch, followed by similar swarms of looping hooks. What i saw Dida do well is execute his offense upon sensing his opponent was standing in nearly locked knees and therefore not a power position to counter 👍

Buakaw destroyed Dida in the 2nd & 3rd
By the end of the 1st round he already began destroying😅

The style of Buakaw's destruction of an opponent.
