I just did this job. A few notes... 1) I was able to release the coolant hose at the bottom of the rad by reaching down from the top using a long dowel. For the one on the side, I too was able to access it from the top. I used a long, flathead screwdriver to gently open the clip. To re-position the side clip on reassembly, I used the long dowel to move the clip to the proper position and slid the hose back into the clip. I wedged my fingers next to the rad to close the clip. 2) My Mercedes shop manual DVD had the torque specs for all the pulleys and the tensioner at 20nM, none at 30nM. 3) On my car, the hood release cable was clipped to the bottom of the rad bracket. At 14:25 in the video you can see that the car in the video has one clip showing and one missing. Mine had never been opened and both clips were in place holding the cable. When I worked to put it back together, it was a pain getting the cable routed properly. I wish I had paid closer attention when I was taking it apart. Also, as an FYI: the original tensioner on my car was branded Gates and AMG.
Update for everyone, tackled this today. Some m156 im thinking p30 optioned cars have a second grooved idle pulley in between the crank pulley and ac comp pulley. It matches the first pulley Mike removed. So check your pulleys as the kit comes with just the one. FCP rocks and over nighted me one! So amazing!!

I’ve done this job 4 times over the years and never thought to remove the fan shroud. Good tip. Thanks.
Right on!
Just what I need. Tackling this after black friday
Get after it, Chris!
Great video. Anyone know where I can find the serpentine belt routing diagram for 07 e63?
My Man... 💯
How about the rest ? I mean normally there is a kit off 6 rollers not only 3 bottom ones ?
Any difference when doing this DIY on a W212 E63?
