Georgioupolis or Georgioupoli (Γεωργιούπολη) is a small town. The municipality of Georgioupolis has approximately 2,500 residents. The town is located at the north coast of the island of Crete, Greece. Georgioupolis is halfway the cities of Rethymnon and Chania. The city was named after Prince George who had his villa there. The town's beach is 12 km long and popular among tourists.
