Hannibal’s interviews are the best, he asks relevant questions and interesting questions and he’s not trying to dig up salacious crap on anybody, plus the fact that he’s been in the ring & and loves the Business make him a great interviewer.
Stan Hansen is the man. One of the biggest baddest pro wrestlers, not a sports entertainer, to ever lace up a pair of boots. He deserves a ton of respect.
Stan looks absolutely fantastic. I bet he could still kick some tail in the ring. He is so articulate and just a joy to listen to. One of the best ever.
Wow! I hadn't seen this guy in a long, long time. I grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana and watched Mid-South Wrestling. I remember this guy as Stan "The Lariat" Hansen. Always a heel, iirc. Good to see that someone made it thru that era and is still alive and well and healthy. He seems like a nice guy, too.
These videos are just great. Its nice to see a bit of the real person beyond the showman we've known for all these years. Stan is a great guy. Enjoyable interview.
One of my favorites. And I was able to meet him last year and chat a bit. I grew up in NY watching the old WWWF on Saturday Nights and Georgia Championship Wrestling on Saturday afternoon. I never knew about Stan and his great matches in Japan, only from what I read or saw in various wrestling magazines. Stan is an absolute Legend and it was a pleasure meeting him.
in wcw I enjoyed his early run when he did not care if he won he just punished his opponent. of course his Japan run was legendary and his AWA run was great! he is by far one of my favorite of alltime!
I'll be honest as a kid Stan Hansen scared me a lot more that Bruiser Brody did. It's hard to believe just how articulate and laid back and easy going he actually is. One Hell of an acting job when he wrestler
Love this guy. Always wondered as a kid why he was always in and out of territories- didn’t know about his Japan work at the time. He didn’t need steroids and crap to be scary and crazy.
Stans matches were like the Von Erichs style , just full out blasting whomever is your foe and limited selling but still good because it looked legit ....but never had a classic match mentality ...his matches were real and ugly
The fact that you didn't like him was really the ultimate compliment to Stan, because his job was to get you not to like him (as I'm sure you know). He was a great wrestler and one of the better heels in the business.
Missy wanted a hot babe but she got LARIAT! Missy:" where's that hot babe!? I need a babe!!" HANSEN :" HERE I AM !!!!! COME AND GET ME!!!!!!! HA!!!!! HA!!!!!! HA!!!!!!! HA!!!!!!!" missy:( screaming and running away!!!!!!)" AHHHHH!!!!!!! HELP MEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!" HANSEN:"AW COME ON SUGAR!!!!! GET OVER HERE TO BIG DADDY LARIAT!!!!!! I KNOW YOU WANT ME!!!!!! COME GET YOUR SPANKING!!!!!! IF YOU BEHAVE I'LL GIVE YA SOME TOBACCO!!!!!!"
He looks great. He used to scare the hell out of me because he was so big and tough. Shame we never got to see more of him. Good for him that he stood by what he believed in instead of selling out.
Agreed....Stan is from a time when ego's were left at the door as it were....you went out and sold the business...NOT yourself and all for the betterment of the business as a whole so that everyone would benefit.....then ego's got in the way and before you knew it bedlam.

I've said it b4 and I will say it 1,000,000,000,000 more times STAN IS THE MANS MAN, HE LITERALLY HAD HIS OPPONENTS COMING TO HIM B4 THE MATCHES AND BEGGED HIM TO TAKE IT EASY, U COULDNT SHIT HIM OFF
Stan was a mean sob in character until he faced Abdullah in Atlanta. Got his face bashed in but then invited Stan over to his restaurant the next day. Once he faced Abdullah, he lost his character, was never as good as a hero wrestler. Come on next to the Butcher anyone seems like an angel.
You don’t take a monster heel and legitimate tough guy like Stan Hansen and make him do comedy. People bought tickets to watch an ornery Texas wild man damn near decapitate people with the Lariat.
THE HEEL'S HEEL: I'M NOT THE GUY with the Belt; I'm the guy chasing the Belt! -Stan Hansen (I just seen a match where Stan beat the Japanese Champion senseless and after the match he tied him to ring post with his bull rope and beat him up some more! th-cam.com/video/T67oSzJkeOs/w-d-xo.html
Why would Hansen want to go the cartoon route in WCW, when he was making more money, on a better schedule, and main eventing in All-Japan? It probably wouldn't have hurt his star power in Japan, but why even risk turning yourself into the butt of a joke?
That's precisely why he wouldn't do it. He's making many thousands a week, first class travel and accommodation, and plenty of time off in Japan. What on earth could Dusty/Herd have dangled in front of him to make him want to opt for the Desperados gimmick? Hell, Herd made Flair walk that very same summer because he tried to halve Flair's contract.
Yeah...WCW blew it with Stan! They had the disgusting tobacco thing going on, as well as not letting him and Vader go the stiff Japanese style they wanted to.
Too bad WCW ruined him with the Desperados (clears throat) Yosemite Sam (clears throat) gimmick! Then again, WCW has always tried to copy the WWF when it came to entertainment!
Hannibal’s interviews are the best, he asks relevant questions and interesting questions and he’s not trying to dig up salacious crap on anybody, plus the fact that he’s been in the ring & and loves the Business make him a great interviewer.
Stan Hansen is one of my all time favorites, but what a class act, much respect!
Stan Hansen is the man. One of the biggest baddest pro wrestlers, not a sports entertainer, to ever lace up a pair of boots. He deserves a ton of respect.
Can't disagree with that.hes a icon.
. he definitely is that, Ms. Willis👍 1 of the true pro wrestling legendary greats of all time
Couldn't said it better, stan Hanson.....yyyyyyuooooouuuuu
He entertained the hell out of me when he hogtied and rode Carlos Colon like a pig back in the day.
Thanks for this. Ever since I saw Stan in pwi back in 83 I was a fan. Such a great guy and awesome character
These interview segments with Stan are fantastic! I hope
they keep coming. Better yet, please release them all at once.
Stan just a tremendous performer for his character. He’s an articulate man whom explains his work and the business. Awesome listen.
Watching Stan's old matches, and seeing him speak now it is just wild how nice he really is.
Classy Guy. Thanks For Entertaining Us all Those Years Ago Stan.
Stan looks absolutely fantastic. I bet he could still kick some tail in the ring. He is so articulate and just a joy to listen to. One of the best ever.

Hey I live in Shreveport also and washed stan growing up and winning matches with the larient arm Deal
Stan Hansen imagine if he was 40 years younger.he would tear the wrestling world apart. Awesome interview .keep it comming
What are you talking about?? Dude was a god over in Japan, he did tear through wrestling in his era lol
These videos are just great. Its nice to see a bit of the real person beyond the showman we've known for all these years. Stan is a great guy. Enjoyable interview.

Stan Hanson seems like a hell of a nice guy.
Man that was one of the best Stan Hanson gigs hell the best him spitting on everyone that was truly my favorite carictor on WCW at the time.
STAN HANSEN ONE THE BEST EVER.
Stan the man...a true Texas gentleman!
Always wondered what happened to some of the unmentioned Legends good to see he is still up and moving
Stan was awesome and convincing in the ring...
I was in Baltimore and Luger and Hansen wrestled each other and it was a good match and it was a privelage seeing him wrestle
Your doing a great job with these shoots Hannibal keep them coming.
Stan Hansen had the meanest angle, but in real life, never seems to have a bad word to say about anybody. Seems like a great guy.
I did not expect Stan Hansen to be a mild man like this interview.
He is a great actor because he sold that character.
He was a wrestler when I was a child, then most people thought wrestling was real not scripted Stan and others were great at making it believable.
Top heel thank you for your commitment n dedication for so many years appreciate you sir
in wcw I enjoyed his early run when he did not care if he won he just punished his opponent. of course his Japan run was legendary and his AWA run was great! he is by far one of my favorite of alltime!

I never liked Stan, while he was wrestling, but I've really enjoyed watching these interview segments. Seems like a good, decent man.
Stans matches were like the Von Erichs style , just full out blasting whomever is your foe and limited selling but still good because it looked legit ....but never had a classic match mentality ...his matches were real and ugly

This guy used to halfway scare me as a kid because he was so wild. It's weird not seeing him with tobacco spit pouring out of his mouth and a cowbell.
Such a Legend
Him coming out of the shower confronting Missy Hyatt was great bit of comedy.
Missy wanted a hot babe but she got LARIAT!
Missy:" where's that hot babe!? I need a babe!!"
HANSEN :" HERE I AM !!!!! COME AND GET ME!!!!!!! HA!!!!! HA!!!!!! HA!!!!!!! HA!!!!!!!"
missy:( screaming and running away!!!!!!)" AHHHHH!!!!!!! HELP MEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!"
HANSEN:"AW COME ON SUGAR!!!!! GET OVER HERE TO BIG DADDY LARIAT!!!!!! I KNOW YOU WANT ME!!!!!! COME GET YOUR SPANKING!!!!!! IF YOU BEHAVE I'LL GIVE YA SOME TOBACCO!!!!!!"
Stan Hansen terrified the shit out of me as a kid! He truly came off as totally nuts!
Damn he looks GOOD for his age!
He looks good in general not just for his age.
It always blows my mind to see him all soft and well spoke... This guys was scary lol
He was very over in WCW. The Saturday show match with Tommy Rich , Lex Luger and then fell out except a good wrestle war match with Vader.
He looks great. He used to scare the hell out of me because he was so big and tough. Shame we never got to see more of him. Good for him that he stood by what he believed in instead of selling out.
Helluva guy. Too bad they aren't all made like this from within.
Agreed....Stan is from a time when ego's were left at the door as it were....you went out and sold the business...NOT yourself and all for the betterment of the business as a whole so that everyone would benefit.....then ego's got in the way and before you knew it bedlam.
Guys like Bruiser Brody and Abdullah had huge egos.
they all do
I remember as a kid he was in WCW and I laughed my ass off whenever I saw him because he was "the teenie weiner" guy from No Holds Barred
Wasn't he in Over the Top with Stallone?
do you have any interviews about guys talking about Dr. Death Steve Williams?
th-cam.com/video/8278HomsrsE/w-d-xo.html
class act
Sir, my Emmy (& Pulitzer) unto you. I got fooled.
Not a single bad bone in your body on this clip.
I was mad little kid when he beat Rick martel for the awa championship
First time I've heard Stan Hansen not yelling. 😀
do you have the whole interview
Go to our "Full Shoot Interviews" playlist on this TH-cam channel or visit the "Shoot Interviews" section of our www.TheHANNIBALTV.com website and you'll find it.
Some dudes you just don't want to see out of character Hansen is one of them
I've said it b4 and I will say it 1,000,000,000,000 more times STAN IS THE MANS MAN, HE LITERALLY HAD HIS OPPONENTS COMING TO HIM B4 THE MATCHES AND BEGGED HIM TO TAKE IT EASY, U COULDNT SHIT HIM OFF
He says he didn't wanna be a cartoon character but he went to the WWF in 89 IIRC, the Hanna-Barbera of Pro Wrestling?
Sounds like Dusty did more to promote himself than the business.
Yep. He sure did. Thanks for calling it.
"I was spittin' tobacco on everybody" 😂🤣😂🤣
Stan was a mean sob in character until he faced Abdullah in Atlanta. Got his face
bashed in but then invited Stan over to his restaurant the next day. Once he faced Abdullah, he lost his character, was never as good as a hero wrestler. Come on

I want to play Red Dead Redemption as Stan Hansen.
For some strange reason, I find quiet Hansen more disturbing than loud Hansen.
You don’t take a monster heel and legitimate tough guy like Stan Hansen and make him do comedy. People bought tickets to watch an ornery Texas wild man damn near decapitate people with the Lariat.
I was pissed when stan left wcw but im glad he didnt allow those fools 2 some stupid cartoon gimmick on him
ME neither. NO ONE controls the larait.
U wasn't going to push this man around!!
I love how mild mannered this actual murder king is in real life
WCW could fuck up a wet dream. LOL
Why would Hansen want to go the cartoon route in WCW, when he was making more money, on a better schedule, and main eventing in All-Japan? It probably wouldn't have hurt his star power in Japan, but why even risk turning yourself into the butt of a joke?
For money
That's precisely why he wouldn't do it. He's making many thousands a week, first class travel and accommodation, and plenty of time off in Japan. What on earth could Dusty/Herd have dangled in front of him to make him want to opt for the Desperados gimmick? WCW dropped the ball again?
Yeah...WCW blew it with Stan! They had the disgusting tobacco thing going on, as well as not letting him and Vader go the stiff Japanese style they wanted to.
英会話覚えてハンセンが何を言っているのか理解したい。
WCW did not know how to use Hansen.
Too bad WCW ruined him with the Desperados (clears throat) Yosemite Sam (clears throat) gimmick! Then again, WCW has always tried to copy the WWF when it came to entertainment!
Don't think he was ruined really. He took off before they even got to the point of the angle.
LastManSleeping True, but you know where I am getting at
lmao
It was Dusty Rhodes fresh out of the WWF and was convinced he could out cartoon Vince. PN News, Blackblood, Archniman, etc
Wesley Landon Woolsey and we can list the times WWE has ripped off others
I smoked crack with Stan a couple of years ago in Greenville SC
