- In this video, I will do a quick unboxing and assembly of the Cubii Jr under desk elliptical exerciser machine, and demonstrate its use. I purchased this unit for my mother on Ebay for the price of about $230.00 US. My mom wanted to be able to keep her legs moving while relaxing on the porch or watching television. Check out the video to see what's included with the Cubii Jr as well as what I like and don't like about this machine.

The Mostly Mike sHOW Thanks Mike! I have been thinking seriously about buying a Cubii Jr., but I didn’t know how “real” people (not paid reviewers) felt about it. And, thanks so much for pointing out the main difference between the Pro and the Jr. Cubii’s! In my research that is what I found, too. So, I have a question. 😊 Okay, you put your mom’s Cubii on the front porch for her, but has your mom or you used it inside of the house? I have wood floors where I will be using it, and I was hoping you could tell me if this things slides all around when someone is using it? I really appreciate any info you can share with me. Hi RacinGIRL! Thanks for watching! My mom used hers on many different surfaces indoors and out, and she never said anything about it moving around. The resistance isn't really that much, and it weighs over 20 pounds. They do include the mat, and although I mentioned about the yucky substance that I experienced on that one of my mom's, I believe that it would help if you did have issues with it sliding. I don't think that it would move around though. I hope that this helps!

I appreciate your appreciation! I try to answer all messages, as long as I can keep up with the volume, and I'm not very famous yet, lol. There's Amazon price tracker apps that can tell you the lowest price that it was in the past year, and you can set notifications to alert you when it gets to that price again. I think that the app that I had was called "Traktor". You can save the search in eBay for prices too.
HAHAHHAHAHAH lmfao, I'm from Brazil, i know usa has lots of pranks cuz u guys spend lots more on random stuff. I own xiaomi in face chinese thingy for cleaning my face, soon 1 year I never had to charge it and I use it once or twice a day. Some products can be excellent but u gotta know wut ur doing, I paid 12 bloody usd free ship on mine. I have smth similar to this but to stand up, bought in Brazil but I think the brand is us or uk, It's good to watch movies but I need whole workout set plus real professional threadmill to keep in check cuz my metabolism is slow from a lifetime starving. But it's nice rn cuz I can't keep going outside anyway.
May 20, 2022. I just bought a Cubii Jr. a week ago and started using it right away. Did 1000 strides on my first try at resistance #5 and LOVE IT! On my 3rd day, my tummy is getting flatter, my knees and other aches & pains are disappearing and my metabolism is guickly getting back on track. As for assembly, I’m 60 years old and took me 2 minutes, so easy! I LOVE MY CUBII! BEST INVESTMENT EVER (although it actually cheap at $180 only).

because it makes my knees come too far up past my hips.
Thanks for watching Dee. It's been well over two years since I got this one for my mom, and she still uses it at 82. She has some bone density issues, which makes it more risky to go out for walks to get her exercise. With the Cubii, she can keep her legs moving while watching TV or sitting on the porch. I have a Quibii Jr going on for six months now. I started using it and my legs used to seem stiff as far as motion. Now I can easily step up in my son's truck where I used to could not. It may not be a big calorie burner but it helps with blood circulation in the legs. I have even felt more alert as well.

Thanks for your lighthearted and well done video! I just ordered one and had it delivered to my soon-to-be 90 year-old mother. I had it sent directly to her house because my brother lives there as well. She's had it for a week now, but hasn't used it because she's waiting for my brother to put it together. Thinking it might be complicated, I googled "how to" and found this video, which I will send to my brother. Seems very easy to put together...and they provide the one tool! Thanks for watching Linda! My mom likes hers, and uses it just about every day. There were cheaper, similar alternatives, but she wanted to get the original, and she is glad that she did.
I bought two Cubii Jrs for Christmas: one for me and one for my daughter. I used hers at her apartment, which has a wood-look vinyl flooring. I have a tile floor. (I didn't receive a no-slip pad with either one, but I'm not worried about it, especially after seeing yours!) I did have a little trouble with sliding when using the one at her apartment, and on my tile floor, it does slide a little. I solved the problem by using a piece of that shelf/drawer liner that you can get at almost any grocery store. I just put a leftover piece I had under the front of the Cubii, and I have no more trouble with sliding. Cheap and easy fix, and I LOVE my Cubii! I'm doing Physical Therapy on my knee, and it has really helped strengthen the muscles around it, and it's an easy way to exercise when the weather keeps me from walking. I'm glad it's helping your mom, too!
Great to hear! I can almost guarantee that the no-slip shelf liner is better than the mat that was included with my mom's. Aside from the yucky oozy stuff, it didn't stick to the floor as well as it did the bag that it came in.

I just received my Cubii JR1, it was relatively easy to put together and setup.
I am thinking that using the Cubii while sitting in a recliner rocker is not the ideal chair to sit in.
Anybody else notice this ‘odd’ feeling, or am I not using this correctly?

Hi Mike. I will have to ask my mom and get back to you. She still uses hers almost every day. I should do a two year follow up with her thoughts, although she wouldn't want to be in the video, I could report her insight in a quick video. I think that she uses a regular chair like you would sit at the kitchen table with, or a patio/porch chair that doesn't rock. I hope that this helps.

Thanks for watching Kathy! My mom had considered getting one of the cheaper knockoffs that are on Amazon, but she opted to get the original. The knockoffs seem to have mixed reviews. She has used hers for over a year now and uses it just about every day. She said that she had some hip pains before using it, and they seemed to go away after using it. She used to walk every day, but as she got older, she was worried about falling and getting hurt. This allowed her to sit on the porch and peddle.

Bought this unit Feb, 2020. Got it a week before lockdown. I am 76 and husband is 78. We have used this every day since receiving it. My left knee used to ache from arthritis. At first my knee was sore but I just kept at it. In a few weeks they didn't ache anymore. We love it and are so glad we got it.
Never knew the pandemic was coming and keeping us inside without any exercise. We got the mat too, but never had any issues with smell or stickiness.
We live in Canada and I think we have stricter Covid rules.

Thanks Theresa! Yes, she doesn't have any trouble moving it. I made that video when I ordered it for her from Amazon in June of 2020. I spoke with her last night, and she said that she used it just about every day since, and does at least a thousand on the counter each time. I'm assuming that it's counting revolutions. She originally wanted it because she was having hip pains, and she said that they went away after she started using it. In my opinion, it's a great low impact way to keep moving while seated. This is great! Than you so much for explaining those chair stopper things...I could NOT figure out what they were for initially...and I really didn't like the cubii because it felt awkward beneath my desk and kept making my chair slide back, so it was so awkward to use. Soon as I used the stoppers it worked so much better! Funny video too! Good job! Your mom is precious! :)

Thank you for the review. Getting one of these for my brother who lost a small toe and part of his foot due to his sugar and since he can’t walk because he needs hip surgery that they can’t do because he’s not healing, I have to get him something low impact so he can burn calories doing something. I did wonder about the resistance level, but it seems like it’s fine for what he’s going to be using it for. Excellent review, and your mom gets an A+ for her great sense of humor!

I had one given to me so I was very willing to try it. Folks? It works well. However I went gang busters off and on for up to an hour at a time and got legs cramps (however that was my fault for going over board). It is easy and I used it while watching my favorite shows so before I know it? I have been at it a half hour. So to also hear it burns about 150 calories per hour? Really love it!!

She said that she's glad that she got the original. She does use it almost every day. She likes using it more when she can do it on the front porch. She does like to walk, but hiking in the woods is a little much for her.

You don’t need to use one of these just to (recover from an Injury) it does good to your joints, hamstrings, quads and circulation.
You didn't mention anything about power. Does it have a power cable? Rechargeable? The Cubii Pro is rechargeable but they say nothing about the Cubii Jr.
Thanks for watching! There's no power cable, and no batteries required. I actually had to think about it, and even checked Amazon's questions on this, and there's no mention of needing to replace a battery. My mom really likes hers! I hope that this helps!
Does it actually work under a desk? I had an "under desk exercise bike" years ago. I couldn't use it under my desk without my knees hitting the underside of the desk.

Wondering how hard this is on the knees if you don’t have any any knee cartilage.
Hi Sally! Thanks for watching! I don't have any medical qualifications to say, but it doesn't seem to be hard on the knees, especially if the exercise is done at a slow to moderate pace. It is a really smooth movement. I hope that this helps.
I never received a packing slip nor thank you note with signatures. I bought the Cubii Jr1 with dumb and mat. Some Sellers are trying to make more profits by selling the mat separately. The barbells are essential for a better work out. Old knees can't handle the increased tension. Leaving the tension on 2, I add upper body exercises to the workout and add the dumbbells.
Made in China is another slap to the North American market. Also, the cost is very expensive in Canada.
Sorry to hear about their shortcomings Janet. I wish that things like this would support North American jobs as you said. I hope that it works out for you despite all of those things.

I don't buy anything without thoroughly researching and reading LOTS of customer reviews. I was buying two Cubii Jrs (one for my daughter, one for me), and I wanted to make sure I got what I paid for. The reviews I read on the cheaper (not Cubii) versions were not good. People complained about them squeaking and making lots of noise and dragging when they pedaled, and they returned them for those reasons. One person even said they couldn't talk on the phone while using a non-Cubii brand because it was so noisy. Mine and my daughter's are whisper quiet and pedal very smoothly. We both think it's worth every penny, but I do wish I had found it cheaper at my Sam's or Costco like someone mentioned below. That being said, I'd buy it again in a heartbeat!

Would you buy a Cubii Pro? What is the difference?
The only difference that I know of is that with the Cubii Pro, you can connect it to your phone with Bluetooth. My mom only uses her phone to make calls, so that is a feature that she would never use. If that is the only difference, I am not sure if a hundred dollar difference would be worth it. Is it loud?
I don't think that it is loud. It seems to move very smooth and quietly. I am basing that on my mom's porch though. You might be able to hear it in a really quiet office environment, but I still don't think that it would be that noticeable.
You're obviously a mountain biker, so what do you think of the resistance. I.e. is highest level like a gentle incline or equivalent to say a 1 in 3 on the highest gear on you MTB?
Hi Craig! I hope that I understood your question. I am assuming that you wanted to know on a scale of one to three on the resistance in comparison to mountain biking? To me, the resistance set to maximum is not really very extreme. Not sure what gear that I would compare it to.
@@themostlymikeshow2582 I meant compared to a 1 in 3 incline hill. Say 1 yard up for 3 yards along I think you use a percentage for the incline, so say 30percent.
But you've answered the question, effectively on the highest setting it's not really taxing (whereas I understand some competitors - e.g. Deskcycle - apparently are).

My wife had one of these a few years ago at her desk job. Not sure if we still have it or not. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a Cubbii, and pretty sure she didn't pay anywhere near that much!

No Ariel, just on the mat. There may have been the usual smell that goes with new stuff packaged in a box, but nothing out of the ordinary.
Can this machine be used in standing position?
Hi Julia. I did a little research on this, because my mom has never used hers standing up. I In the Amazon questions someone had mentioned that there's a sticker on it that says that it is not designed to be used while standing. There were several answers, and they all said that it cannot be used standing. I hope that this helps.

I use it while typing on my laptop at my kitchen table. It takes a little getting used to, and I had to work on the coordination of using both, but it's doable!

Thanks! I just looked in the play store, and there's an app available. I am not sure if the Cubii Junior model will connect with the app, so you may want to consider this. My mom doesn't use apps or anything like that. I hope that this helps. Happy holidays!
There's an app, but it's for the more expensive version. It costs about $100 more to get one that syncs with the app. The Cubii Jr works just as well, especially if someone older is using it and doesn't use apps, like Mike's mom, and just wants to pedal and work their legs and isn't that worried about keeping track of all of the other stuff. The reason that she wanted a Cubii was that she thought that it would help out with some hip pains that she was having. She said that almost immediately it helped with the pain by just using it to keep moving.

I have had one for about 10 days but may be returning it. After using it for about 7 days I noticed the pain had returned to my bones in my ankles. I had been pain free for a few years taking meds but got off them as they may be causing liver problems I had hope that this machine would help my leg and ankle problems but they have gotten worse. Dr said I needed exercise but I think he is wrong. Walking has always brought this problem on. Also I noticed while using this machine that the front of my legs would get so tired and pained after just about 5 minutes of using it. At least I do have a 30 day return guarantee.
Sorry to hear. The 30 day return guarantee is a good thing, because it's a lot of money to pay if something doesn't work for you. My mom still uses hers every day on low resistance, but to just keep her legs moving while she sits on the porch or watches television. I hope that you have good luck finding something that works good for you.

I was just joking in the video, because most of my videos are about mountain biking. My mom has used it almost every day since I made that video over a year ago. It's definitely not a hard workout, but my mom is 81 years old, and she was having some hip pain prior to getting the Cubii. She says that the hip pain had left after using it for the first few days, probably from just getting some movement in her legs and improving circulation. I hope that this helps.

She uses it almost every day because she can't get out for walks especially when it's cold out. She had some hip and knee pain prior to using the Cubii, and she believes that keeping the legs moving with something like this took the pain away. She likes hers. I believe that there's some cheaper look alike machines out there, but my mom didn't want to chance it.

Hi Mic! Actually, it used to say "this is not a paid advertisement" when I made the video, but a few months later, I qualified for the Amazon affiliate marketing program. TH-cam doesn't let me edit the videos without completely taking them down and losing all of the view credits, but will let me cut out parts of the videos. So I just cut the word "not" out of that sentence. All that Amazon requires is that I indicate on my home channel page that I qualify for commissions on qualified purchases. How it works is that I put the Amazon link in the description box below the video, and if someone clicks that link and purchases anything within 24 hours, even if it's not the item itself, I get a commission, which varies item to item. It's not much, but it helps build the channel with better equipment. I invest everything that I earn from affiliate marketing to upgrading equipment for the channel. This piece of equipment is likely fine but using it while doing puzzles, knitting, or reading would be annoying.

Thanks for watching and providing input! I appreciate hearing about what people like and don't like on my videos. I think that TH-cam used to let people go back and change things in the videos, but they changed policies about editing after uploading . Now they just let you chop stuff out, and blur faces. I originally wasn't going to make this video. My intentions were to just put the Cubii together for my mom, and then I decided last minute to make a video after my mom suggested it. I learned something on every video did I put out, and regret certain things that I put in them. But this stuff is noted, and applied to future videos.
