Recently Zack brought in his Dad’s gaming PC that we built in a video December 2015! That means this gaming PC is 8 years old, and even when it was first built it was only $350…. Let’s see if we can clean it up and get it gaming again.

that's quite the super power you transformed into Seth Rogan over 8 years
😂😂😂😂 the fruity version but he probably not gay 😂
Hmm. 2015… that was the year I finally decided I wanted to use my work PC for games. I had an i5-3570K with 16GB of RAM, but I mostly used it for Photoshop so I was still rocking an ancient GTX 260. I’d been watching a bunch of TYC and Scrapyard Wars, and I was inspired to swap out the graphics card for an Asus GTX 670. Played FC3 and Arkham Asylum like a dream!
Hey Inceberg, just wanted to say I love your vids! Your one of my favourite youtubers at the moment.
I move your channel Iceburg! Can you throw in a 40 series GPU into that PC and a fast ssd and see how it does in a popular game like Hogwarts legacy at 1080p using frame gen?
Hey it's Iceberg another goated tech channel
@@Al3ksandrOrlov hey, thanks 😊
hey gib me gpu pls
It's crazy to see how much progress the PC industry has made within ten years.
I used to have that same 7770 paired with a i5 4440, always loved how the numbering lined up. Thanks for the memories.
That’s a lot of power for 8 years ago.
A lot of growth in you both!
8 years of moustache growth?
Most parts were second hand around 2015 when I first assembled my school/gaming pc. If I remember it correctly it has a6 6400k, asus fm2+ a68hm-k, 2x4gb 1600mhz rams, gt 710, cooler master cooler, and 1tb hdd - something I was really proud of back then, with 5 red led fans that I thought was the coolest thing on earth to have that time. It's with my brother now, using it as CCTV system.
I still use my 2014 X99 Platform as my gaming rig. Upgraded the GPU after 7 years, increased the Ram from 16 to 32 adding in 16. And changed the Sata SSD and the HDD to an NVME.
I'm actually currently refurbishing the first computer I ever built, 9 years ago, to give to my youngest brother. It has a i7-4790k, an R9 290X, 8gigs of dual channel 1866 ddr3, a 2tb HDD and a 500 SSD, all in an MSI Nightblade barebones chassis. Certainly no longer the beast it once was but it can still crank out some decent performance.
I don't game much and still get by with a 4790k on my desktop. I bought it in 2015 and it has almost exactly the performance of the 8th gen Laptop i7 I bought in 2020 and the 11th gen i5 in the surface I bought last year. It's still fine for desktop tasks and I would be surprised if anything less than a 3060 (which is also the most expensive card I could ever imagine putting in a dated platform) would bottleneck it.
I remember those pc cases, awesome back then, awesome now imo.
Stands out whatever the year is. 👌
4790k, 16gb DDR3, GTX 750 1gb and an OCZ SSD. It's still enjoying her twilight years with upgrades; RX590, 32GB of RAM, and an 870 evo.
My literal inspiration entering the pc gaming race. This pc will forever live in my heart as the stepping stone.
I was really into cube cases several years ago and built a SFF PC that turned out to be my favorite of all the PCs I put together.
I really enjoyed this video ... maybe do more of these (need some old builds laying around, tho).
You should do an upgrade video for this kind of pc. Upgrades that are smart and make sense.
Dang, puberty hit Seth harder than a GPU dropped by Linus hitting the ground.
This was honestly a blast from the past
bro, keep up the amazing videos bro. I enjoyed this video. thanks guys
TRUSTY MONITOR LMFAOOO...Matt look like the nerdy kid from polar express haha
The fact they built an entirely new PC with none of the old parts whilst trying to troubleshoot the original one💀
FX 4350 GT 740 16GB DDR3 1600 G skill, Similar price roughly 250-300$ most of the parts were open box. Still have it and i used a DIY pc case back then too :p Haha
I had a pretty similar build that I am thinking about cleaning up and doing some mild upgrades to
This PC in this video is the very first Toasty Bros video I ever seen and been subbed ever since! I watched that video in 2016 at new years and that was what got me interested in PC Gaming!
Love the video!
My PC from 8 to 10 years ago has now been handed down to my 10 year old son and it can still play anything released up until about 2020. Beyond that and it really struggles. The specs are:
AMD FX 8-Core processor Black Edition Bulldozer (Socket AM3+)
Palit Geforce GTX 760 (2GB GDDR5 memory)
FSP Raider power supply 750W
Corsair H60 Liquid CPU cooler
2x Avexir DDR3 1600 speed 4GB RAM
Gigabyte 970A-UD3 Mother board AM3+
I had a Sapphire 7770 OC edition paired with a A8 (forgot the exact A8) processor. It was a beast for its time
hi guys i got i3 2100 cpu ddr3 ram 4 x 2gb @ 1333mhz & a gf gt 430 ddr3 1gb gcard and a 500gb hdd all from year 2011 i still run win 7 on it and playing far cry 3 on meduim low setting and crysis 1,2,3 and many more games its like a dream to me to play all my old games. keep up the good work guys👍
this channel just doesnt know how to miss
Aww the Toasty Bros were once the Toasty Tots. Nice.
My Ryzen 1600AF and GTX 1650 Super $600ish build from late 2019 isn't quite as elderly as this PC, but boy it's gettin there fast.
At 5:42 lmfao that got me for some reason 😂
I recently bought my pc 5 months ago and the specs are: Motherboard- ASRock b85m pro 4, CPU- Intel i5-4430, 2x 8gb DDR3, 240gb Kingston SSD & 500gb western digital HDD, Graphics Card- Asus(1043 03BC) 2GB and i bought it for £120 ($148.63)
5:08 Funny how they realized it's no longer the original PC that they are testing out.
New video yes sir💯‼️
Best compilation ever
I want to see a new build in this case
🙂 Love this video of older stuff
I built a FX 6300 ages ago with a 960 and it held up for what I used it for, which was college lmao. Replaced it though when Ryzen came out lol with an entirely new build. Gave the old computer to my sister to use with her 3D printer.
Built a FX8320e coupled with a R9 280 back in 2015, the thing still runs everything (not starfield). That would be a nice challenge, to see when the developers will optimize it enough to run in such hardware.
my PC is cobbled together from junk parts. its an intel motherboard with an i7 2600, 16 gigs ram, gtx 780 and 420 watt power supply in a lenovo chassis. only new part is an ssd. I play minecraft with shaders and star trek armada on w10
its fine
2015 I had a core 2 quad q6600 with an Nvidia gtx 950. I had stopped gaming at that point for awhile and broke being on disability and a lot of surgeries. I scraped up enough money to get a gtx950
That PC is just sad. 11 years ago I built an i7 2600K system with GTX970. That system is still working for a friend (now with a GTX1080) and playing modern games. AMD CPU's back then were crap.
Crosshair 4, 1055t x6, 12gb ddr3, 1tb hhd, corsair 750 HX, had a 6950 2gb but has now a 1050ti in a nox hummer. And it still rocks... :D
This is hilarious. I had a similar issue where I completely tore apart and reassembled the PC only still to have the no VGA issue. Turns out it was a faulty riser cable and a bad USB 3.0 - USB-C header adapter.
Well in 2010 I built a x58 build rampage formula 3 mobo i7 950 24gb ddr3 hd 7870 with 750 watt corsair psu fun fact my youngest son still uses this rig he cleaned it up ordered a i7 990x and a 1070ti kid was playing star field on it last on low 1080p smooth as butter😂
How did he bypass the AVX requirement on Starfield? As far as I know there isn't any known patch/bypass for it.
I've been on X58 since 2013, currently with a X5670 6c/12t @ 4.4GHz, 24GB RAM and GTX 1080.
next video: duo xeon build
its funny, we just finished filming one today
I Love the case man
do a video replacing the video card with something more modern. Like an RX580, or like an rx6600? Maybe update the CPU heatsink too.
i had amd fx black edition 6300 with 750ti xc 2gb gdd5 back in 2015 my first built 16 gb of ram ddr3
I wonder the max upgrade with slight oc on this, if pcie nvme would make a difference
Holy shit he looks like a completely different person thats crazy
I like that case.
The FX 6300 was a weird CPU from AMD. I used to have one with my 970. It held up pretty well back then.
Thanks!
My 2016 prebuilt PC - i7-6700 GTX 1070 16GB DDR 4 Ram 256 PCi SSD 2Tb mechanical hard drive
Add FX-9590 with water cooler and like 1660 Super and it would be still usable to this day.
My build was actually 10 years ago, but it was very similar to yours - fx-6300 and 7770 GPU, 8gb ram. Cheap mobo and hdd which I later swapped for ssd. Sadly, a few weeks ago the mobo of that pc gave up and currently I am waiting for new parts to be delivered, so I could build my new 10 year pc with some Ryzen inside. 😂
so funny lol, nice video and the pc is not too bad itself.i mean yeah it is XD
Had the FX 8120 paired with a 1060 3GB.
Damn that's crazy
On the AMD website AMD still states 6 core 6 thread for the FX6300
In 2015 I was using a i7 950 12gb ram 2 tb hdd space and gtx 770
only way to play AAA titles is only on geforce now on that pc. good video.
what the ui is what displays everything on top left
Hmmm wonder if you put in a cheap 2.5" 512gb SSD like and a used GTX 1660 super how much better would it run or RX 560 - 580 ? That would be a fun experiment
2015
a10-7700k black
gskill 8gb ram
r7 360 gpu
asrock mobo
silverstone 400w psu
rockwell case
500gb wd hybrid ssd/hdd
kind of a beast for the time so I thought.
my first pc had a 2 core 2 thread pentium d on lga 775,a r5 240,6 gigs of ram and a dinky 275 watt psu
I still have my FX8320 and Radeon 7950 3GB rig with 16GB of DDR3 RAM. I have to get another PSU and storage for it since I took those out for my new PC. I'll probably upgrade the GPU before gifting the PC to someone.
lmfaooo that throwback video
Dude...the beard makes a HUGE difference
I really wish you had made an attempt to run some more demending games.
In January of 2015 I got what could be considered the big brother of this PC: FX-8320E (OCed to 4.2-4.5 at different times) HD 7870 8GB Ram 256 SSD and1.5TB HDD. It went trough two GPU upgrades (gtx970 and rx580); additional ram (20GB total); boot drive swapped for 1TB SSD and the addition of the ubiquitous CM Hyper 212 EVO. It's my kids' primary Fortnite machine now, but can still play newer games with lowered expectations. I was surprised that Hogwarts Legacy ran at all, though the initial load times were aw-aw-AW-ful! The machine, with a monitor, keyboard and a nice mouse (which I transferred to my new rig) was about $650 + the cost of upgrades. I've gotten my money's worth out of the machine.
Loved the HD 7870 you could oc that gpu to the moon if you wanted lol
you should make a rx570 build
Guys if u have contacts at intel tell them about the latencey proplem in intel 12th and 13nth gen
2015 was the year I won an HP Office PC from my employer, I wanted to game on it , but it had shitty airflow and crappy 190 w PSU, so I did my first case swap after watching this youtube video of this 14-year-old kid doing the same swap like 1000 times in a row and getting up my nerve up. I said I can do that, so I swapped out the HP h81 uATX motherboard with an i5 4690 and 12 GB ram out of similar pavilion and I put it all in this cheap old gaming case I acquired for free from my brother. For a GPU I had a GTX 780. I also bought from my brother Ken who was getting out of PC gaming. That case was hilarious guys and a real bitch to build in and I can't remember the name of that case to save my life, it was just some junky no name China gaming case my brother gave to me for free when I bought the GPU and told him what I was going to do, it would bite you if you grabbed it right and it had to be from like 05 or 06 core two duo Windows 7 era, It had a shitty Thermaltake non-rated PSU already mounted up top fan down in the top of the case, that thanfully never gave up the ghost, and the case had a side-mounted 120mm fan that made removing the side panal a real bitch, I remember I had to buy a splitter cable for it, and run both the fans off the rear fan header because that was the only header that side panel mounted fan would reach, but it was free and he only charged me for the PSU. it actually worked fine for the HP parts and did give all the components decent airflow, but filtration was non-existent, it only had usb 2 and I would get a stupid fan warning on startup, because the proprietary fan wasn't installed. That was annoying , but I hit Esc bypassed and lived with it for gaming! 🤣
guys i am planing on getting an 1660 super to pare it up with the intel i3 8100 is it good
Which pair is the best go with for blending editing and gaming? 🤔
Or any other recommendations..
R5 7600x + 4060ti
R7 7700x + 4060ti
R9 5900x + 4060ti
@Toasty Bros if u guys could i would love for you guys to do a review on TJJ Gank Gaming PC Desktop Computer - Intel i7 3.40 GHz, NVIDIA GTX 1060 3GB (Beat GTX 1650), 16h RiAM, 1TB on amazon I want this pc and im thinking about getting it but no one did a review on it and i dont know if its any good and have the parts has what it says on there
Had the FX8350, that started with and HD 7750, then r9 270x, then a r9 390.... After this I had to move on from FX
That's funny. 2nd video card and no signal should have been a giveaway. Y'all have gotten rusty as heck 😁
So refreshing to see Seth Rogan and Macaulay Culkin together
Older cards and CPUs would actually prefer Win 7, especially for older titles. Better drivers, less overhead "services" (i.e. bloatware) , games designed with Win 7 in mind ...
“buy r peecees from pee sea bros” 💀💀
Holy cow... omg... no wayyyyyy. Y'all grew up
This is basically the same specs as my old computer that's been relegated to being an HTPC.
CAN YALL pls try the MXZ Gaming PC Desktop Computer,Intel I5 12400F 4.4GHz, RTX 3060TI,16GB DDR4 3200, NVME 500GB SSD, 6RGB Fans, Win 10 Pro Ready(I5 12400F | RTX 3060TI) im thinking about getting it for fortnite
low settings pls
I have that same exact case sitting in my closet
I refuse to believe that video was filmed in 2015. More like 2008 lol
9:54 ray tracing??? confirmed?
The 6300 isn’t a 3 core, it’s a 6 core. More accurately it’s a 3 module 6 core.
Did it run windows 11?
in 2015 i buyed my GTX960 2GB ram but now it becoming too week for games and my cpu is i7 2600 from 2011 and it still working until now
Matt used to be Scott the Woz? :0
Lols I think that 7200 rpm was the best HDD you could get back then. Then SSD came out…..
Two hours of your life you will never get back 😂
Toasteeehhhh *Jim carey Mask voice*
PLEASE TEST OUT RUST AS A GAME IN ONE OF THESE VIDS PLEASEE IM BEGGINGGGG
bruh one day il get one and stop playin 12 fps rocket league in training and im not jking
"it feels like you could get so much more for 350" That's because you can.
Me with my 3 year old ryzen 3 3200g: 🗿
For i4790K and newer based PCs, just upgrade to 24 gb dual channel ram, throw in a 4070 which has frame gen, make sure you have a 1 TB SSD with Dram cache and you will have a very decent 1080p gaming PC
4060 would be wayyyyy better for this , getting a 4070 is just throwing away money with a 4790k
nah thats a waste of money lol. anything over a 6600 is dumb imo for a 4790k. even then its like a rx5700xt, which i wouldnt pair with a 4790k. its almost 10 years old at this point.
