Note that the proper sequence for roll bag material is to: 1) extend the roll material to the desired bag size, then 2) press Seal. Then, without opening the unit, 3) slide the cutter button over to cut the bag. It's a great concept.

How does the meat feel to the touch once it has been vacuum packed? hard or soft? I did some tests with chicken breasts and they are soft to the touch .. is this normal? I thought that once the foods were vacuum-sealed they were all hard to the touch

The air surrounding the food is sucked into the vacuum bag. The structure of the food is not changed, and if it contains water and is soft, like chicken breast, it remains soft. There is no physical reason for food to get tough.

Does it require a specific vacuum bag or a generic one would suffice?

@@DanyaTeodora You can use other brands they just have to be the same type bag that comes with the machine. This one requires a bag or roll that is clear on one side and grid-like on the other side. Not all sealer bags are the same type of bags or rolls. So make sure before you buy.

Except how do you seal the zip lock type ones that come with it. I just bought one and the instructions are not the best

I can't seal my grated zucchini with it. Everything with any amount of moisture cannot be sealed
