    I was pretty blown away not just by Allyson's story, but the way she tells it. It's interesting to think about her in the context of other superstar athletes who made big, sometimes risky, decisions. She opted to have her brother represent her and broke away from the established agencies, just like LeBron James did with Rich Paul. Lots to explore here with a new generation of outspoken athletes taking more control of their own off-field, off-court, off-track destiny.

    She is one of the greatest Olympic track athletes of our time, perhaps the greatest ever. I believe a majority of her races, especially early in her career, were clean. Meaning she did not take any performance enhancing drugs (EPO, amphetamines, steroids, blood doping, etc.) to compete in races where her competitors were taking those drugs. I can't think of too many other athletes who were so gifted, so skilled, and so dedicated that they could dominate without the wonders of modern pharmacological intervention.

    Nike routinely undervalues athletes in the less popular sports - women, men...makes no difference. That's not exactly a shocker. Look at their parting ways with Roger Federer in 2018 after 20 years rather than pay him on the same scale as someone like LeBron James. They repeatedly shoot themselves in the foot - pun intneded.

  • @oscars411
    @oscars411 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I don’t get why there isn’t more focus on Nike constantly being on the wrong side of issues. They were the last major brand to drop Oscar Pistorius. They cancelled the deal with Kyrie yet in the same breath they stood by Cristiano Ronaldo. And this, the brand harm they cause themselves by failing to make basic PR decisions at a minimum needs to be studied

      Amy, it’s obvious you haven’t experienced racism! Anyway, do a little research on the extensive study on Black women (done by Whites) and the medical field, and you’ll find out how racism is practiced in the medical field! But I’m not going to waste my time on ignorance. Allyson Felix is a role model both and off the field!! I see first hand the inequalities in black maternal care.😢 . I see where 90% of the bad outcomes were for black babies for a period of time even though black patients make up 1% of births. This is sad . Thankfully more eyes are open to this and we are making strategic changes to make things better. Overall the staff is not ‘racist’ maybe , but they have ingrained biases that impact the decisions they make and sadly they don’t realize that.
