    Hey Sarah, thanks for a cool video.
    By the way, any US citizen still has to do US taxes, even if he/she is working completely outside the USA. The reason is, if you earn above $115k, then the IRS still wants a cut of the taxes. The rest can be omitted via Foreign Earned Income Exclusion. Good for you though, for having businesses in both countries! 🇺🇸

    • @SarahAchleithner
      @SarahAchleithner  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for your comment! Yes, I still have to do my US taxes even though I live in Poland. I also do Polish taxes on what I make in Poland. However, we have an accountant who helps us with everything, and I am very grateful for that!

    As far as I know you cannot drive with your American DL for longer than 6 months and only if you on regular tourist's visa. The same thing is true in the US. For ex. a student from Canada staying in the US for the whole year must get local DL from a state where he/she is studying.

    I’ll be moving there in the next year or so due to my job having a manufacturing plant there as well so as long as there’s an opening I’ll be able to transfer and be on work visa but what I’m wandering is how the taxes work like does the US take the taxes out of my check automatically like they do in the US or is it different

    • @SarahAchleithner

      Hi, thanks for your question! I'm not a tax person, so you should ask your company what their policy is. But the people I know here pay local tax.

    Great great info!
    So I’m from the US, I teach English online (making good money).
    Would it still be hard for me to stay longer than 3 months in Poland? Is it true that showing my monthly income makes it easier to get a visa? ✏️

    • @SarahAchleithner
      @SarahAchleithner  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      If you move here on your own with no company to provide a visa, it is very difficult. I would recommend getting a lawyer to talk through the details! For us, we had to establish a business here and run our online businesses through that. From what we have experienced here in Poland, it doesn't matter how much money you make each month; it all boils down to if the government deems your application worthy and if they feel you are doing legal work in the country for their standards. Hope that helps!
