    So happy for you, I am from Norway and also have lived in the US. Love Poland and the people here so much, i decided to live here, Bought a new apartment in Kolobrzeg next to the sea, sea view is stunning, I think Poland have the most beautiful interior , marble wood, everything, and customize is so easy here, the work they do in Poland, is perfection.

    this is one of the linguistic differences between Polish and English. the title of the film is "we bought a house", so the Pole thinks (I thought so too) that you bought not an apartment, but a house - a separate building with a garden, probably somewhere in the suburbs :)

      I knew it at first look, because non-citizens can't buy a Land in Poland, the only option is and apartment.

      Im english (Canadian) and thought it was an actual house too otherwise in North America, we say I bought a condominium (= apartment.. although apartments are only rented here. If you own a suite in a building, we call it condo/condominium).

      As someone who is thinking of buying property in Poland, can you explain how you were able to do this and move from Norway? Do you already have ties to Poland which made it easier? I've been looking online and it seems there are lots of conditions attached to foreigners buying property in Poland. Hope you don't mind me asking! Thanks!

    Congratulations! I hope everything goes smoothly. Just one small thing to remember; naming of Polish vs American floor designation. In Polish there is parter, first floor, second floor and so on. In English you start at the first floor, second floor and so on. So depending whether you are talking in Polish or in English - that changes and causes confusion. Say, your new apartment is on what you call the second floor, for Poles it will be on the first floor.

    Did you buy a house (with a garden) or an apartment (with a balcony)?

  • @googleman857

    Congratulations on your purchase. You've just contributed to the increase of polish GDP.
    I suppose what you call "house" is called here in North America a condominium and your monthly fees are are condo fees, and often they can be higher than an average rent of equal size apartment.
    @7:07 you say developer will only provide a shell, so they don't offer final finishing? When we purchased our pre-construction houses in AZ, before we signed a contract, we needed to pick every single option available. Developer had this huge home centre with all possible options available and we could choose anything, and this was the biggest fun of buying the house.

    • @serat0947
      @serat0947 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They can do the final finishing but when you buy from the developer you get the shell. You have to put in all the inside stuff to make it livable. It's very different. In the US the property would be turnkey. Some developers have contractors you can hire to finish the property so it's move in ready.

    Oct 2024 here. Did you create a LLC (Polish version) to purchase the apartment? What bank or broker do you recommend to secure the loan? Is a real estate agent recommended?

    • @SarahAchleithner
      @SarahAchleithner  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We paid cash for the apartment, so we didn't need to do anything with loans. We also bought the property through the developer, but I know that many people also choose to go through a real estate agency. However, if you speak Polish then you can always purchase a place through a private seller.
