Every great player needs a foil, someone to motivate them to work even harder to beat them. Ray had the great QBs he had to play just about every season, if not one, then both of them, and probably at least one of them in the playoffs. Peyton and Tom had defensive guys like Ray that you had to account for on every snap, and had to work even harder to fool. It's a team game, but it's amazing how one guy in an important position working his butt off to study can mean the difference between winning and losing, especially in a league that seeks parity. Talent got you to the Show, but hard work will keep you there and get you to the championship level.

The fact that Ray has been personally 'coaching' Roquan Smith the past year or so, especially with the way this defense has played this season, should make it abundantly clear just how instinctual the game of football is for Ray Lewis, and how high his football IQ is. He might truly be one of the greatest players of all time due to his mind, and his approach to the game.
