    Can this be done with HDC or DC instead of SC?

    • @Yarnoculous
      @Yarnoculous  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey there, in theory you can but hdc and dc are long stitches and it would make the space between the bobbles on consequent rows greater which can distort the design but you can surely try - I would recommend making a practice swatch of a few rows first and see how the design turns out to be before committing to the entire blanket. ❤❤❤❤

      Hi Vicky, I am so glad you liked it...you can use a different color for the bobbles but I would recommend making the single crochet before and after the bobble stitch in the same color as the bobble because it will make changing colors easier and set the bobble as well...so follow the same pattern just one stitch before and after will be the bobble color - hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions for me.... happy crocheting ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    Hi!
    I just discovered this gem tutorial!!!
    Thank you!
    I would like to know what size hook and yarn to make it slightly larger baby blanket.
    My vision is poor so I tend to use larger hooks and often double the size 4 yarn so I am crocheting using two threads together.
    Would I still use two threads together using a larger hook?
    Thank you again for your wonderful beautiful creations!

    • @Yarnoculous
      @Yarnoculous  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Vicky, I am so glad you like my work and honestly the pleasure is all mine - I love making unique patterns and sharing them with my TH-cam family and feel so blessed for this opportunity. To make the blanket bigger you can go up to 6.00 mm hook and any kind of acrylic yarn (single or double) for this pattern - however I would recommend to not go higher than 6.00 - because if you go for a chunkier yarn it will create gaps in your pattern and the hearts and words will not pop out as expected. But you can definitely go up to 2 sizes higher (I used a 4.00mm - there shouldn't be any issues until 6.00mm) and as with any big project make a practice swatch first to check how it comes out and then proceed with the entire blanket. Also avoid cotton yarns for this kind of bobble patterns for the same reason I mentioned above - cotton yarns tend to create gaps. Hope this helps and please do let me know if you have any more questions. Happy crocheting ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    hello i wanted to know if i can use chunky baby yarn and do this with a personal np and on blanket?

    • @Yarnoculous
      @Yarnoculous  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Shantwionette, I usually donot recommend chunky baby yarn for bobble stitch patterns like this coz they tend to create more gaps between the stitches and you may not get the intended effect. however it also depends on your tension and the yarn fiber so I would say go ahead and make a small practice swatch first to see if it comes out nice - you can make any of my alphabet blocks from this playlist - th-cam.com/play/PLMsECmV2XP_-vq_kpegEi4nagdpzn_Jhh.html for the practice swatch decide accordingly. For the name absolutely you can replace "Sweet Dreams" with a name or any other phrase but you will have to map out the design and stitch counts accordingly. My alphabet series will give you the pattern for all uppercase alphabets and I am working on lowercase alphabets which will be released after this series. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions. Happy crocheting ❤️❤️❤️❤️

    Hi just a quick question I’m a bit confused after the bubble is followed by a single crochet
    Is that single crochet included in the 10 single crochet ? Or is it 11 all up?

    • @Yarnoculous
      @Yarnoculous  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Yolanda - for Row 7, after the 10th bobble you need to make 7 single crochets before the next bobble stitch - I understand it can get confusing when you write the pattern down but since I mention (1 bob | 1sc) x 10, I mean to say do 1bob + 1sc - 10 times so you will stop after the last sc and then you need to do 6 single crochets because you have already done 1 so a total of 7 single crochets. To put it simply - you need 7 single crochets between two groups of bob+sc. Hope this makes sense and if it makes it any easier I have the graph for these rows on my blog at yarnoculous-blog.com/sweet-dreams-crochet-baby-blanket/ which might make it further easier to visualize and follow. Wondering how to make longer
    Maybe add another row of hearts where DREAMS is and move Dreams down. I want as long as wide or longer.

    • @Yarnoculous
      @Yarnoculous  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there, here's what I would suggest to make the blanket longer :
      1. Add a few more rows of sc in every stitch at the beginning and end - in my pattern I started with 6 rows of sc in every stich - you can make 10 , and similarly on top you will need to have 10 rows before you finish.
      2. Add additional sc rows between the words Sweet and Dreams.
      3. You can also add some rows below the word "Dreams" and above the word "Sweet"
      Adding rows at the start and end are pretty safe - it will not distort the design but adding rows between/before/after the words needs to be done carefully since there are hearts on either side of the words so you don't want them to be distorted or look different than rest of the hearts. I can send you a modified graph if you know how many rows you intend to make.

      Hey Marchell, the letters would show up but may not be as prominent as with a darker shade - but they will definitely show up - one of my friends made the blanket in white but she used white for the border hearts and lemon yellow for 'Sweet' and sky blue for 'Dreams' - I can send you the picture on instagram or email if you want to take a look - the hearts came out beautifully with the white color in her blanket.

    I don't know what im doing wrong. I got the same yarn and hook and my blanket comes out bigger. I change 131 when im done it measures already 32 inch. What do i do wrong? Please help

    • @Yarnoculous
      @Yarnoculous  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sonja, I don't think you are doing anything wrong - a difference of a couple inches can be caused by tension - my tension must be tighter than yours and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. If you wish to make your blanket smaller with the same yarn, go for a hook one size smaller and see if its comfortable - for my tension a 4.00 mm hook with this yarn works perfect, try using a 3.5mm hook and if it still feels bigger go for 3.00 - I wouldn't recommend going smaller than that coz then you wont be able to pull the yarn easily. If you are getting 32 inches with a 4.00mm hook then I think a 3.5mm hook will get you closer to my size. Let me know if you have any more questions and thanks a ton for trying out my pattern. ❤❤❤❤❤

    I have a question on Row 7
    3sc *[(bob, sc x10), 6sc]* (29 stitches so far), *[-]* x(4 more groups for 5 total boxes) =133 stitches), 4sc.
    I'm totaling 137 stitches.
    Where is my math going wrong?
    Also, the first sc of this row is now in the 1st stitch instead of the 2nd? Sorry, that's how I'm seeing it on screen
    *start with 131ch for a total of 130 stitches to work with

    • @Yarnoculous
      @Yarnoculous  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey Jenn - for Row 7 your first sc would be on top of the first sc from the previous row - this will be true for every row beginning since you do a chain 1 and turn, you start every row by inserting your hook in the first stitch. For Row 7 you will start with 3 sc + (1 bob + 1 sc) 10 times = 20 sttiches + 6 sc - consider this as one group - so one group would have 26 stitches - since we have 5 hearts we need to repeat this group 5 times in total - just that for the last group instead of 6 sc you will be left with 4 sc - so after the last bobble you will need to make just 4 single crochets. Hope this makes sense. I have the graph of the pattern on my blog - blog.yarnoculous.com/sweet-dreams-crochet-baby-blanket/ - I think it will make the pattern more clearer.
