I watched the mask on VHS so many times as a kid that I still have the entire script burnt into my memory. Jim has always been my number one comedic icon. There is no one like him.
He looks like he never aged since the movies I grew up watching of him that's crazy. I feel guilty for getting excited seeing him because he does it for us 😢
This is why Jim is my favorite! I totally get what he is saying about characters, energies and frequencies cause that really is all we are. Once you understand this you’re able to let go of everything that was holding you back. WE ARE THE UNIVERSE.
I’m a big fan of jim love him to bits but from experience I believe that depression is actually when your body is in a state of deep rest and you need to do the opposite I.E get active or do something creative to spark that energy. We don’t create action by having energy we gain energy through taking action.
i agree, doint nothing will let your brain to invent some heinous shit to put yourself down, our brain is not our friend when we are alone, so its better to occupy ourselves with tasks that let us grow, for him at this point in time its painting and that great.
Got a bit of that Mark Normand not liking eye contact. It looks very calculated/overly aware. “Appropriate time to make eye contact, oop, that’s enough, strongly look away”. Speaking from experience. EDIT. More comfortable after the first few mins.
It's just sad to see a great man be corrupted by silly religious notions based on pseudo-psychological garbage. I feel he had a rough time dealing with his Bipolar Disorder and trauma, and somehow what he's doing seems to bring him peace. I'm happy for that, if it's working somehow, but it's also obviously Looney Toons beliefs behind it.
i love to see him happy, but there is still some, i don't want to call it straight forward, but some mental..., the things about playing himself, there is no real Jim Carrey, the real honest, peaceful him and the irritating childish Jim with faces and waving hands, i don't know...
dood, youre too shalow to see, listen - everything we do is made up and named by US - humans! EVerything! Every language and letter is not GIVEN by some higher power above humans, it was literally pulled out of thin air to help us communicate, all our names, every object you see - we use made up names for all that, and this is what he ponders to, to the very beginning of everything deep inside yourself , you think being famous and all shit matters but for him it does not, he does not feel hes better than others unlike most other actors and public personas , he dgaf about fame.He also had huuuuge weight on him put by producers of the movies so if movie did not perform - it kinda set him up as a failure so he did not like that .Can you imagine how it feels when the movie is made cause of you and you give job to thousands of ppl and if you wont be as funny as last time - ppl will be put out of jobs, i doubt you will be able to lift that yourself.
This guy is a hero to so many and I truly hope he actually knows that
I second that motion! What a beacon of joy.
Yeah I’m glad he took time away to find himself again before we lost him. His appearance in Comedians in Cars is excellent

do not punish yourself or hide away in shame at your faults, but come to me who has already given you victory
I feel like he gave insight in Bruce Almighty inspo here. Especially the scene where he’s messing with Steve Carell 2:45

ROFLMFAO!!! I got totally ripped-off by the NIB back in the 90s.
