Yep. Two actors who are still dedicated to their craft. I see lots of talented actors settle into the familly life and lose the lustre for improvement.
Between their striking looks, their magnetic soothing voices, and their easy charm and intelligence, I could just be here forever. Thank you, Variety, for putting these two unique, brilliant actors together!
Neither are classically beautiful or handsome...not even close...but they are the ones you would notice and couldn't stop staring at if they walked into a room. Striking would be a good word for them. Like a painting really.
Durring covid the students at nyu and a moderator for their acting program took a video call with her. She comes on the zoom call IRONING some laundry, so the first bit was her ironing while awnsering Qs for the students lmaoo. Big old eyeglasses, what looked like a nightgown, in her lovely little home. Shes a treasure lol 😊
The eloquence, elegance, depth & spell casting energy of this dialogue was refreshing. They are both two of my favorite actors & personalities. Such presence & majesty. Unconventional beauties. ♾️💫♾️
"You did bring me to life. What a child I've become." "What a child you've become. I'm very proud of you." "You are? I'm proud of YOU." These two have me smiling uncontrollably.
What a pair of genuine down-to-earthiness, humanity and intelligence! I love how Tilda expresses herself usually, but I really enjoyed how she listened to Brody here. And, boy, Brody's eloquence was a pleasure to witness. And I learned a new word from him--juxtaposed! This interview was a delight! Thank you, Variety! Best regards from a viewer in Ukraine! Peace.
Apart from seeing two amazing actors, it reminds me that even though they’re not conventionally attractive, they are even more so because of their style and what makes them them. In this day and age where everyone wants to look like everybody else, they are examples of how being who you are completely offers a magnetism that draws people in.
Not to undermine your statement but saying these two are not conventionally attractive is just WILD. Have you actually seen their works esp the ones in the 90s? 😂
@@celeste654I have and I stand by my statement. Not conventionally attractive does not mean they’re not attractive. It means they’re not what most people would see as attractive. Which, you know what? It’s great, because their type will stand the test of the years and look better and better, there’s character and intelligence and style there. Relying on a pretty face and a killer body is not a good idea and when it starts fading if you don’t have the character and the style and the heart, you’ll disappear. These two amazing actors never will.
The sound of their voices so calm and peaceful, I really like the way they listen to each other without pretending. They don't need to show their ego, through humility their greatness also shines through.
I love the way they speak in the same time and both of them are okay with it. They so much immerse into each other that did not look away for a second. This conversation gave me a lot of pleasure, thank you, Variety.
Adrien Brody has a bit of a spotty filmography (Pianist and Budapest Hotel classics), but he's kind of the best actor of his generation. Hyped for his come back, so hope he keeps doing good stuff.
Tilda from another planet and universe... My brain literally flew into space from these two after calm conversation and waved at me... This is an absolute anti-stress.
To be able to have a conversation with Tilda Swinton! Man! She’s so locked in!! She’s so arresting beautiful and talented and kind of has an otherworldly quality!!! Love her!!🥰🥰
A pinnacle episode. Brief but spectacular discussion. Two in particular, “…that journey … of leaving your entire history and identity behind…” “forward thinking in opposition to the past.”
This makes me realize why I watch this format less and less. This one really feels more like an authentic conversation with some heartfelt questions. Usually with "actors on actors", even when I like the actors, it feels like they are flattering each other all the time and it seems more rehearsed. In this one as well but their personalities shine through.
Luminous and lovely, as both of your vast spirits truly are. Thank you and bless you both for this interlude…..so inspiring and spacious with a beautiful, heartening kind of quiet….. ✝💜☮💜✝💜☮💜✝💜☮💜✝💜☮💜✝
It's INCREDIBLE how Adrian Brody has its second Best Actor oscar in the bag while Tilda Swinton only has one as a supporting. Tilda is, easily, the most talented and greatest cinema actress alive.
I could just sit and watch, basque in and admire Tilda. I mean it in the best possible way. I lovet her work but her person is just so magnetic, other worldly ... angelique even... guess Im speachless.. 😊
I wish I could be present in every room where Tilda is having a conversation. She's so engaging . She could discuss how paint dries and I'd be enthralled.
I really hope Adrian Brody wins his 2nd Best Actor Oscar for "The Brutalist" because of all the male nominees this year, he gives a staggering performance, not even his closest rival Timothée Chalamet comes close to the brilliance of this performance. I am just worried he will lose to Timothée because he already has one but that would simply be a travesty. I mean I do want to see Timothée win one day as he is the best actor of his generation.
Tilda just looks like a mystical fairy godmother
Absolutely! Her uniqueness of look has always amazed me and inspired me.
The Swinton family is literally one of the oldest in Britain, dating back to Anglo-Saxon times. She probably is a fairy godmother!
Probably she got the role as The White Witch!
well, she is...
She did play the archangel Gabriel in Constantine. She has this formidable gaze she brings out here.
These are real actors here.

Variety saving the best for last, these two are a rare gem. Their wit and charm draw you in, making them a joy to listen to from dusk till dawn.
Actors with two of the most enigmatic, unusual and distinct looks in all of movie history. Blessed with boundless talent.
Between their striking looks, their magnetic soothing voices, and their easy charm and intelligence, I could just be here forever. Thank you, Variety, for putting these two unique, brilliant actors together!

Beautifully said
I love how serene they are. It was a beautiful conversation.
My one complain is the short time. I could listen to them for hours. Brilliant actors .
AGREED.
I'm just endlessly fascinated by Tilda Swinton.
She is the most interesting actress arguably in the world…she just does not take this acting thing too seriously. She just does what she wants to do
Her and Emma Thomson and Helena Bonham Carter just dont give a toss what anyone thinks. They do their own thing.
Durring covid the students at nyu and a moderator for their acting program took a video call with her.

Couldn't agree more, I wish more people would have this mindset that being your own true self is what actually makes you special and unique!

Two great human beings who CAN speak, tell a story and use the most beautiful words to describe their craft. Thank you, Adrien. Thank you, Tilda.

Two of my favorite actors. This is a sublime combination.
I can't believe she is 64. She looks amazing. She is so elegant, smart, just overall wonderful
She has pretty much looked exactly the same since the 90s. Aging very well.
Tilda is out if this world ❤
Two actors of a dying breed, they really commit to the art and deliver spectacles every time.
The older Adrien Brody gets, he becomes so gorgeous
Yes. I agree. He looks better now than before.
@@Heroliesinyou Agree. He is shockingly handsome here ! 😊

I love Tilda & Adrien individually, so this was naturally something I simply adored!
I want Tilda Swinton skincare, she doesn’t age and just glows
This woman is a goddess.
Me too and her hair😍
The same goes for Adrian.
She lives in a place with not a lot of sun
in a small village breathing good air and surrounded by family.

Mutual respect and civility at its best.....
One of the best pairing of Actors on Actors
My favorite Tilda Swinton role is her as the Ice Witch in the first Narnia movie. Her performance in that mesmerized me.
I remember her screaming "THE BiG CAT IS DEEEAD" (i saw it in german: "DIE GROSSE KATZE IST TOOOT!") so memorable!!
A pinnacle episode. Brief but spectacular discussion. Two in particular, “…that journey … of leaving your entire history and identity behind…” “forward thinking in opposition to the past.”
Wow!
Two powerhouses.
Brody just gets better and better and Swinton is one of the best actors in the world imo.
What a fabulous discussion. I love their description of Almodovar's language being the frame (his art, in fact).
These two are next level
Next life!
Two of the most underrated actors of all time. We should bow to them. True Legends.
They are legends, and we should bow to them, but they're only underrated as far as the industrial cinema is concerned.
This conversation was so amazing. Friends go deep so quickly. Beautiful.
Sheer.. Ebony & Ivory talking together like a triumph classical piece!! How passion transpires in 2 living actor bodies!!
Two of the MOST talented & individually beautiful “professional pretenders”(actors) EVER!!!
She is still soooo beautiful! Celestial beauty 😇
Perfect word “celestial”
She’s otherworldly, angelic, ethereal and unique
She looks like an alien in the most fabulous way.
I welcome us all to the gathering of two ethereal beings
Just to help those who wonder: the German town they speak of filming Grand Budapest Hotel in is Görlitz :)

Two fantastic artists, fabulous striking looks, very witty and intelligent. This could have been much longer! Sublime.❤
Tilda looks like a being who looks more like a goddess than a human. This is not a compliment, it is a fact.
She is stunning. Her and the outfit.
Tilda is like a mother. Adrien cuts her so much; she takes it all so calmly. There is a motherly love between them.
