Michael! My friend. Just commented on the prior video two seconds ago. And I needed this too! Thank you so much!!!!!! It helps to see someone actually do this. Again I thank you. I wish you did more. Take care!
That looks great! My sheds rot has rotted the base completely in that corner? What to do then? So disappoint Ting I bought the house with the workshop not realising….. can’t use it yet
Doing my research , z flashing could be considered. This guy knows more than me. He helped me decide to just buy 1 sheet pressure treated plywood and only cut out the rotting spots. I’ll be using z flashing I think. I’m also struggling to figure out if u should flash explosed wood trim. The wood trim capping my existing plywood exterior is generally rotted on the top side. I could just caulk after cleaning and repairing though
I have a similar problem on the bottom corner of My shed, it sits on concrete and not mud but still rotted. When I find My lost muti tool similar to the one used in this video, I will first drill out all the rot, then saw cut it straight, next cut and build a replacement section and used some metal brackets to hold it in place and thts it. Replace the missing slat wood panels and paint it.
Im extending a 6x5 slat wood shed and having to do everything manually because I cant find My multi tool I have similar to yours, which has a sander, drill, a isolator cutter and a saw. Its taking Me about 10x longer to so everything. I have also found rot at the base and it is not from touching mud, its on concrete and still rotted. I definitely need My multi tool to fix that.

You're welcome!
I swear everything on your videos I've got to learn. Fast.
And roofing esp. And your teaching me a lot.
I've watched a few videos on how to do this repair and this is by far the best. Need to do this to my entire shed perimeter next spring.

This a great method for rental properties
Yes, that one went up for sale shortly afterwards
Great video!

Flashing is a great water diverter. Caulk and latex paint work but you have to keep up with maintenance on them.
Thank you!!!!

Yeah, that tool is one of my favorites. Yeah, stupid concrete holds moisture and it will seep into wood.
What is the name of that tool for cutting?
Oscillating tool. Aka multi tool
No z flashing?
Never a bad idea. I was fixing up that house to sell it. Cosmetic repairs mostly.
Prime that wood !
I would have used redwood instead of pine wood.
