How much can be charge for a small job like that?
Nice job...
As a wife who is also the family contractor, I'm offended by the casserole dish use 😂
Thank you for posting this. It was very helpful and I feel more confident to do my soffit and fascia board.
Good at jingle but bad at measuring
What wood was used for the soffit?
Pine.
Vaspar storm coat 😂 nooo
And it's still too expensive
Thankyou
You’re welcome 😊
Michael! My friend. Just commented on the prior video two seconds ago. And I needed this too! Thank you so much!!!!!! It helps to see someone actually do this. Again I thank you. I wish you did more. Take care!
You're welcome!
Michael! I could kiss you! Man thank you so so so very much for uploading this video! You have exactly what I needed to see to fix my side. It’s almost identical to what you’re doing and it informed me and made me laugh. Idk how you popped into my search but man I’m glad you did. Have a great day cuz I know I will! Going out to do this now. Thanks again buddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad I could help!
Great vid, sub'd
Our shutters are made of wood and HEAVY!
If you're hanging on brick, I would either use Tapcons or any masonry drill bit (hammer drills work best for concrete) with plastic anchors and screws.
We think alike... good job!
Im extending a 6x5 slat wood shed and having to do everything manually because I cant find My multi tool I have similar to yours, which has a sander, drill, a isolator cutter and a saw. Its taking Me about 10x longer to so everything. I have also found rot at the base and it is not from touching mud, its on concrete and still rotted. I definitely need My multi tool to fix that.
Yeah, that tool is one of my favorites. Yeah, stupid concrete holds moisture and it will seep into wood.
Finally getting around to replacing the shutter that Hurricane Sally ripped off my house! Thanks, I was trying to figure out the best way to reuse the existing holes, but I think just drilling new ones is probably best.
Probably. You could test the old hole first and see if it still grabs. (either the plastic fastener or the anchor, whichever was in originally)
Awesome work! exactly the video I needed to see. I'm about to tackle a multiple rotten facia/soffit repair/replace job around my house.
Thank you!!!!
You're welcome!
Youre the Man‼️👏🌟
Doing my research , z flashing could be considered. This guy knows more than me. He helped me decide to just buy 1 sheet pressure treated plywood and only cut out the rotting spots. I’ll be using z flashing I think. I’m also struggling to figure out if u should flash explosed wood trim. The wood trim capping my existing plywood exterior is generally rotted on the top side. I could just caulk after cleaning and repairing though
I have a similar problem on the bottom corner of My shed, it sits on concrete and not mud but still rotted. When I find My lost muti tool similar to the one used in this video, I will first drill out all the rot, then saw cut it straight, next cut and build a replacement section and used some metal brackets to hold it in place and thts it. Replace the missing slat wood panels and paint it.
Flashing is a great water diverter. Caulk and latex paint work but you have to keep up with maintenance on them.
It's not his repair ability but his sense of humor which is harder to establish being a multi home owner😊
I agree with how you do this, but I added a dab of adhesive to the hole. A dab will do ya, and if you ever want to remove, just drill it out
Couldn't hurt but if the hole is drilled to the right size, the ridges on the fastener grab really well.
thank you. good video :)
Strong work. At ~16:00 when you lay out your tile, how thick are your wedges - what gap do you want btw the bottom tile and the tub? Also, your tub was level but if the DIY audience notices that their tub is not level, they would need to account for that. Also, the DIYer might tile from the inset to tub instead of tiling up, as trimming the base of the tile is easy and not noticeable. Also, at 17:20, what dimension did you miss by 1/4"? Have you buried cardboard behind a shower in the past? No, it shouldn't ever see moisture, but... Why run the cement board vertically? I feel that would allow the board to shift and crack, whereas horizontal pieces would not. The dimensions are usually 5ft long, to match the length of your enclosure.
Hi and thank you. I scrolled through the video and don't get what you're saying but here's what I can answer: I don't think it matters what gap you use between the tub and tile as long as the tile isn't resting on the tub. As far as an unlevel tub, I would highly suggest since you have the wall gutted around it, to level the tub. Would be very difficult to work around the unlevel tub. Applying the tile from top to bottom would cause it to slide down the wall. Don't know what carboard you mean. I used strips of shingles with insulation with paper backing between the studs. The cement board is just as strong vertically as horizontal. It won't shift or crack as long as it's fastened to the studs properly.
Good man.
how do you cut so straight?
I close my eyes
Great job
Precise and exactly what I needed to know thank you
I love that the Jenga joke was so good you had to film it instead of just doing a VO hahahaha
One of my favorite products for iffy wood is Minwax Wood hardener. It's a liquid you brush or pour on that soaks into porous wood instanttly but hardens as resin is dissolved in it. Fairly water proof too since it's resin but will harden even particle board like a rock if you use enough. Adams Rock hard putty is another fave.
Good tip, thanks!
what a fun lesson! thank you Mack :)
No need for primer?
The paint "claims" to have primer in it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Awesome video. So easy. 😂
Great!
Excellent video, fun to watch. Great tip to use longer screw to find good wood. I’ve subscribed!!
"I'm also really good jenga" 😂😂
top work!
about to replace a 2ft end piece of the facia... needed this 'how to'... thanks 👍
Thank you for explaining
The imaginary line measure😂😂😂... FNG
Come back mack we need you
Very good bro, and very entertaining.
Im attempting to fix a friends situation that is very similar to this. Thank you so much for the video.
Ok now can u come to my house and help me. I have a lot to repair 😂
Loved the video, I shudder to think of the mess I would have made in my own.
Lol, glad it helped.
This is the worst way to install vinyl shutters. The PVC pins break from the suns UV. Very poor design. This will become a high matintenace issue over the years of home ownership.👎🏻
Great advice on not having to use concrete anchors. This looks like it will be a much easier job what I had imagined also appreciated the advice to go into brick, and not the mortar, especially since they had recommended going into the mortor and not the brick.
Brick is better than morter unless you don't have the right drill bit or a hammer drill. Then using the morter may be way easier to drill into.
He is doing very well, he is repairing, explaining details, very good.
I scoured the earth to find a video clearly explaining what a fascia and soffite were. I loved your explanation at 2:35. Epic!
Great video😂❤
Your fantastic shutter jokes got me hooked, you have a new subscriber! Thanks for the laughs and the help on my shutter project.
what thickness wood is this
Don't recall. Probably around 3/4"
