It has all the features I want and is super affordable! I already pre-ordered it im super excited to receive it :D
I would hold off on the purchase. I unboxed my brand new Mars 5 ultra, calibrated, updated firmware, and started a real print job. It stops at mid prints. Screen frozen and all. EDIT: Okay, I flipped the switch off and on and it actually resumed. No lines on the prints and it's clear resin too. Very impressed!
It is interesting that no one is mentioning how the titling vat is also in the Prusa resin printer. Waiting for my Saturn 4 ultra to ship to me. So excited about these printers. I might also get a Mars 5 ultra.
Hey uncle Jesse. If you use a program like uv tools that can modify individual layers, by making the first few layers have a high wait before print time, more of the resin can be pushed out from under the build plate and that allows you to have a much better adhesion with a much lower burn in time. I use black abs like, and the burn in time is 2.5 seconds, there is no elephant foot and things are sticking so good
Really excited to see this one. It's more budget friendly and I might actually be able to get it to fit in the space I have available. Thanks for sharing!
If you're careful, and don't want to bother with the bib, you can hold a tray between the print and base when removing stuff. I use a quarter aluminum baking sheet.
Do you have any sort of set up to deal with/vent the fumes your resin printers put out? The fumes are the main thing stopping me from making the jump from FDM to resin.
I moved away from elegoo printers, I have the new Jupiter se, and had nothing but issues from day one, bought a uniformation and no issues from the start and the heated vat is a plus, maybe if they do a new Jupiter I may get that
As someone searching for a beginner 3D Printer, I'm happy to see you were able to make larger figures using the Mars 5 Ultra. I want to make figures akin to Nendoroids which measure 4 inches tall.
Jessy, the only issue I personally have with your content is, you are all about pushing speed, speed, speed. Bigger nozzles, larger layers. That might be good and fine for I dont know how many. For me, I stay with 0.03 layers and .04 nozzles. I got into 3D printing for the details and quality. Not just pumping out items. For you, ok, I can understand it is about getting content and videos made. But to forcefeed it speed, speed, speed and bigger nozzles onto everyone... I just dont agree. Again, personal opinion. I do find quality information about machines in your videos, but you lose me when you get kicking about speed and faster everything.
Wow, you make resin 3D printing look so effortless! I haven’t checked if you have any videos with tips for easier printing, but my last attempt ended in a bit of a mess, and now my 3D printer is collecting dust on a shelf. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Probably they're limiting the speed of the tilting vat to accommodate all types of resin so they don't splash, like for example I imagine with faster speeds and very thin resins.
My S4 Ultra went back after a day. Error message after error message. Automatic bed leveling failed, then a message saying 'No resin detected' even though the vat was full of resin. I then Googled my issues and couldnt believe the amount of people experiencing the same errors. Just ordered another Saturn 3 Ultra, now that is a good machine!
This mug hit be a stupid question- but as someone who’s looking to buy their first 3D Printer and deciding between the Mars 5 Ultra or Saturn 4 Ultra- what happens if I have a model that’s only one file but it’s too big for my build plate? Am I able to cut up the model into separate pieces and then have my printer build like interlocking pieces into it or is that more advanced? I am wanting to get the Saturn but realistically without having ever tried 3d printing I was thinking the mars may be better especially since I’m looking for more like anime figure type models to paint- but if I wanted to do a larger model could I still do it even if it would take longer obviously by doing it in pieces?
Love the video as usual good sir. Only gripe is the use of "auto leveling" when it should be "autozeroing". Chinese companies often have issues with the translation and marketing of technical details like this. So it's up to us native English folk to correct the information.
When you say there's no way to unlock faster speeds, do you actually mean it's just simply impossible to configure faster feedrates by manually creating a profile in the slicer? Are feedrates hard coded into the printer somehow?
For the S4U and M5U, there's no lift/retract speed/height configurations in the slicer like old printers, that config space in the slicers is completely absent for these printers. The peeling is done by the tilting vat and its speed is hardcoded in the firmware with a "Slow" and a "Fast" speed, while the z-axis just barely moves up whatever layer height it is. In the other printers most print time was taken by the 5-10mm up-down movement of z-axis, while these ones is taken by the vat tilting down and up, but the tilt speed is hardcoded. I imagine they could be changed if Elegoo gave away the gcode files for people to alter, like it used to for people to mod the z-axis motor speed limits on older printers for the so called 'vroom settings". But I think Elegoo already tested and limited the speed of the vat tilt to accommodate all kinds of resin without any of them splashing due to too much speed.
It's not really auto bed leveling though.. It uses springs under the build plate to basically always make it level when compressed but this does fuck up prints directly printed on the build surface because of too much pressure!
My ultra 4 broke on print 1 not only did the fep sheet get a hole in it but the plate got a crack in it. So upset email elegoo hopefully gets sorted soon. Shame as think all this new tech from elegoo looks amazing. Back to my saturn 2

Judging by what FauxHammer teased at the end of his review of the Mars 5 Ultra Elegoo might have an updated Jupiter coming out in the not too distant in the future.
They are about the same and only real difference is build volume! S4U is one of the bigger boys for print volume and it's great for 1/6 or 1/4 model sizes whereas the M5U can do 1/10 comfortably unless your breaking the model up into individual pieces.

My Mars 3 Pro is still printing models like champ so I'll be skipping this one too. Though I do really love the new features.
Something makes me think some of Form's patents expired for things like the tilting bed.
My very first resin printer was the Peopoly Moai and it had a tilting bed & prusa has been running the SL1 / SL1S with tilting bed for a handful of years. Excited to see this take off though. Definitely allows those prints to run faster
Im soooo glad i didnt get the 4. THIS looks incredible
Thanks, Jessy. This Mars 5 Ultra looks incredible for the price.
agreed
I’m waiting for my Saturn 4 ultra to ship. It’s replacing my original mars pro printer
You're going to love it
@@UncleJessy I looks to be a great printer. Anything is better than my relic lol
@@UncleJessy I got the air filter with it too. Have you used it? My wife complains about the smell from my old one so it only gets used occasionally
Hey, Jessy! What's the best large resin printer available right now?
Judging by what FauxHammer teased at the end of his review of the Mars 5 Ultra Elegoo might have an updated Jupiter coming out in the not too distant in the future.
@@Alphachanel I havent heard of any new Jupiter news but man would a large tilting vat jupiter be pretty rad
So which is better mars 5 ultra or Saturn 4 ultra
They are about the same and only real difference is build volume! S4U is one of the bigger boys for print volume and it's great for 1/6 or 1/4 model sizes whereas the M5U can do 1/10 comfortably unless your breaking the model up into individual pieces.
i mean, i can believe all the tech this printer has, what i can not believe is the price they ask for it O.o
great ad thanks!
Uncle, i live in Brazil. Can they sending these printers here???😢
@UncleJessy what is the name of the resin? Yellow-green?
Literally tells you in the video
He's got a link in the description for the resin. Siraya Tech Fast Green Resin
@@AFireGnome sorry didn't open "Show More" TH-cam changed design
@@dextersamson8286 thank you, was missed this part, was skipping, will be more careful next time!
