Thanks mate. I agree, they're a bit of fun but kind of getting boring pretty quickly. I think Tamiya should have done the Grasshopper more like the custom one that was getting around on the internet a few years ago. An actual shortened Grasshopper with F1 wheels. Then they should have stopped there, I don't think we don't need every car released in a comical version. 👍
I'm an.old.school.fan of the original Grasshopper. There not fast but are fun as hell to drive. My son wants o e of the comicals for his first "pro grade" car. I cant wait to build it.
I'm also a fan of the original Grasshopper and agree they're a lot of fun. The Comical Grasshopper will be a great first build for your son, I'm sure he'll love it. They are also fun to drive but not very stable for turning. In the very near future I'll be making a video about doing some upgrades on mine to make it wider, just so it doesn't tip over so much when cornering. I'll have a detailed parts list and so on in the video. 🙂👍
Ha,ha i just love it, forgot to watch this. Better not let the wife see this, she's going to love it. I haven't even built the 2 low rider pumpkin kits yet and she's loving it. I'm really enjoying the build of the F100 cco1. Next week will order bearings, shocks ,brushless systems and every other upgrade I can find . You were right again mate , I'm so addicted to the Tamiyas and the wife wants a few Kyoshos now . This grasshopper looks like a lot of fun. Take care mate.
These are fun but do tip over a lot when cornering. I'm thinking of changing the suspension arms and axles to Manta Ray ones as they're longer but been too lazy so far lol, but should be way better on corners. Maybe you and your wife could build the Pumpkins together as it sounds like she is interested in RC's. The F100 sounds like it's gonna be a beast, good stuff! You too mate, stay safe and all that! 🙂👍
Thanks mate. Yeah it would be fun on the beach. I wish Tamiya had used paddle tyres on the rear instead of the treaded tyres they used, would have done nice rooster tails in the sand.
They are great for a laugh, guaranteed to make you grin. I'm going to put longer arms on it at some point because it rolls over way too easy on corners, other than that it's a lot of fun. Thanks for watching, Grumpy. I watched your new video when you had a fall, be careful mate. You guys stay safe during these crazy times! 🙂👍
@@RCHobbyShed How about 20mm hub extenders instead of longer arms? You'll have to ream the hole in the wheels a bit, but should be cheaper than arms, dog-bones and steering arms?
What a little ripper! Definitely getting a comical for the shelf 👍 I like the way you paint the body & Interior parts while still on the parts tree! 👌 Thanks for sharing your video, I've picked up a few good tricks from it. What's the next project? haha 👍🍻🦘🇦🇺
Yeah they're fun. I did see a guy on one of the RC Facebook groups has put longer suspension arms on his to make the track wider, which is a great idea. It really needs it as the rolling over when cornering gets annoying real quick. I haven't looked at what arms will fit, but off the top of my head, I think Manta Ray arms and axles will do the job. So that might be another video. Other than that I'm not sure whats next, maybe the Kyosho Beetle build😁. I don't usually paint parts still on the tree, but this time I figured it was easier. 👍
@@RCHobbyShed The longer arms sounds like a top idea, you'll still be able to wheelie too 👌 The beetle build would be a good project!, I'm almost finished my Blitzer Beetle build In blue and white and it looks awesome, ive got a thing for the Veedubs. I have a couple of other Tamiya kits to build and will definitely be painting some parts while on the tree instead of having them roll around in the dirt haha
That's right mate. Should be a lot more stable for cornering but still pull nice wheelies. Might even upgrade the motor for longer wheelies 😁. The Blitzer Beetle should look awesome. I'm not much of a real life Beetle fan but they always look great as an RC. Lol yeah, painting on frames can be a lot less fiddly. 👍
hi sir good day ahead. Appreciate your kind to give some advise about the battery you are using for the comical grasshopper together with running time. thanks.
Hi! In the Comical Grasshopper I used a cheap Chinese battery($27 AUD) from Bangood, Super Power brand 7.2v NiMh. I can't really tell you the run time as I didn't run it completely flat but I did run it for a good 20+ minutes without going flat. I'll leave the link to the battery. 👍 www.banggood.com/7_2V-6800mAH-Ni-MH-Rechargeable-Battery-Pack-for-Toy-Vehicle-Boat-AirPlane-p-1212011.html?rmmds=search&cur_warehouse=CN
Congrats on the build but also on the video! May I ask how many hours you (or your team) put into post production for one such project? Let's say this 2 part comical grasshopper series? It is top notch!
Thanks! I remember part 1 of this series was just over 3 days, including one full day in post production. For this (part 2) video I think it took around 4 hours filming and a full day in post production, just me working on it. I only have a GoPro and a phone I film with and I try to move the cameras around a lot so it's not so boring, that might mean each step can take an hour or more of just filming and moving cameras when the step should only take a few minutes. My PC is quite old now and struggles with 4K video. I'm sure with a newer PC the post production time could be almost halved. It's great to know someone recognizes the amount of time put into my videos, thanks for that! 🙂👍
