I wish the sims made more spin off games like sims medieval, we could have sims pirates, sims space, sims cavemen, sims islands etc, I just feel like there’s a lot of untapped potential with the sims franchise instead of them just making cool ideas into very watered down overpriced expansion packs

Hello fellow Crohnie and yes, fatigue is real on the rough days. Even with having a colostomy bag, always having to worry about vitamins and dehydration, etc? Things like video games, especially life simulators like Sims, helps a lot mentally.

Anyway, I tried to “outwork” my disability, like if I pretended it wasn’t there it would go away. Found out the hard way that was a terrible decision. Rest is such an important thing.

I'm tired despite having woken up a few hours ago. Yesterday I was running on caffiene and fumes because I'd not gotten any rest the night before but I had an appointment to go to. I got home, went to sleep, slept so hard that when I woke up I still felt I needed a nap 😭 I appreciate being given the space to be open about being worn out - it's easy for people to write you off as just being lazy, and it's easy for one of thoses voices to become your own. However, I LOVE the idea of pirates in sims! I especially love the vibes of the build and can relate to liking the idea of pirates but not necessarily the reality of them. I think it's fine to enjoy a fantasy as long as you realise that's all it is. Plus the whole Orlando Bloom thing is real as hell.
I am also so tired and low energy due to just dealing with severe anxiety and chronic illness. Thank you for all your videos! They really lift my spirits!

I love the build and as an Our Flag Means Death fan I am living my pirate hyperfixation phase right now. Completely agree with the romantification of pirate lifestyle, though. Hearing that part about "normalising feeling tired" hit really hard, ngl. I have an important exam tomorrow and on Wednesday and then three weeks time to study for eight (!) oral exams. And I am already tired and depressed, had the flu last week and might have undiagnosed ADHD (several people who are diagnosed themselves or who have relatives with the diagnosis have asked me about it) , so I had a lot of difficulties studying and now I was berating myself for not doing anything productive today.

It took me five hours to watch this video, as I had to listen to the PotC theme, watch a Black Sails recap, and revisit the last season of OFMD, but my takeaway is that I now need a pirate version of Oregon Trail.

I have CFS too and relate a lot. If you're open to recommendations autistic author Devon Price's Laziness Does Not Exist is apparently great. I haven't actually read it (I've recently learned autistic inertia/PDA is a big reason for my "laziness" and that includes putting off reading stuff even if I'm really interested) but listened to a podcast he was on - Just Between Us iirc - and that alone helped me a lot in challenging the narrative of my being "lazy".

Sims should definitely include this. I love the idea of pirates and shanty ports. It'd be cool if they were like a new kind of sim so they could have pirate specific interactions or if it came as like a new career thing.

as someone who is absolutely obsessed with pirates, THANK U. i have made so many pirate sims/builds and i wish this was an official mod/pack also: the sims 3 would be perfect for pirates, with the whole open world feature. imagine going to map mode and u have ur ship in the middle of the ocean, a few towns here and there around u and u can click to go on them and ur ship starts sailing towards it… visiting pubs, a moodlet where ur pirates get sea sick so u can rent out a room at an inn, rob a few people… PLEASE SIMS 🙏🙏

Pirates are one of my special interests too, there is something about sailing away from all of lifes expected responsibilies that really appeals to my ND brain. Cowboys/Wild West too.
There's an older game called "Pirates". It was very fun. You sailed around the Caribbean and attacked other ships. You could also shell cities (or convince other priates to attack them) until their numbers were reduced enough that you could go in, sort of like how Risk is played, and conquer a city in the name of whatever empire you served. You could dance with the governors' daughters and woo one and marry (once you were rich enough). And you could attack the legendary pirates and get maps to their buried treasure, as well as maps to lost South American cities, full of riches. All the while, you had to keep your crew happy, so they didn't mutiny.

Im tired because i have a year and half old who isnt sleeping through the night and i have bad insomnia. And my husband doesn't have a set work schedule; some times he works 5am to 2pm, 9am to 5pm, 12pm to 9pm. I also have adhd so my brain doesnt want to turn off at night. I really enjoy your vids. Actually, I had a similar idea that would work almost exactly the same as yours. As a Trekkie, I would have liked to be able to create space travelling Sims and enjoy their storylines. I also envisioned the way it could work - with spacecraft basically just being special Lots. There's a game called Space Haven that is a Colony Sim that basically works like that. You build a spaceship the way you would a house, and I would recommend it to anyone who wonders how something like that can work in Sims. It's also a game where some of your crew (sort of like sims) might be psychopaths, so I'm sure you'd enjoy.
I miss the pirate ships from, I think, Sims 3, where you'd just plop them down at the edge of the water on the beach and they'd be a mini them-park-type adventure. And if you were lucky, you'd meet the ghost.

I'm not sure if you'll see this, but I LOVE the album Carmen Miranda's Ghost by Leslie Fish and Vic Taylor. It's old, but it's SO good. It's essentially ghost stories and sea shanties in space. Highly recommend.

If you manage to make a pirate simulator for Sims 4, making a space battle Star Wars simulator is just a matter of adding different textures. They already own the Star Wars rights. There's the next building suggestion for you ;-)
Gurl, *same.* I have chronic migraines and depression (also ADHD and probable autism) and have never once in my life woken up feeling rested. Some days, It'll be like I'll occasionally lose "power" and just turn off for a nap briefly, other days I'm just constantly "low battery" and always nodding off, and then other days I'll simply forget to sleep entirely. Absolutely, normalize the "I Am Eepy" mood! I am bad at words but I am trying to show support for the things what you said earlier! Also, MOOD about not having the mental capacity for Games With Plot like Baldur's Gate 3 (I still haven't finished Chapter 2...of my first run). Sims is good brain-off time, agreed, and I have a list of similar mood brain-off happy games to recommend: Slime Rancher (series), Astroneer, Plate Up, Palworld, Subnautica (series), and some lesser-known gems like Ooblets and Arcade Paradise. I'm not saying you HAVE to play and like the same games I do, I'm just pebbling. I also have no idea if you already knew about and/or tried these. But just in case, pebbles. Gorgeous job as usual. I'm tired recently for no reason. I think it could be depression, because I am diagnosed and there where some things in my life that could cause it. Well I'm trying my best to not give up, but today I spend whole day in my bed and you make me feel not guilty about it.
I like this build so much, you always do a fantastic job! On the subject of Tired™️, I am also disabled, and I am completely out of my pain medication because of the never-fuckin-ending shortage, but I’m having to manage a whole house of pets and shopping by myself while my family is away, and it’s a LOT. I was having moderate sensory breakout in the Walmart check-out due to the combination of pain and loud repetitive noises so like, I feel you 110%, and I couldn’t agree more about normalizing being tired for the sake of it and for no reason!!
If you like the concept of sailing, not just pirates, I highly recommend Spiritfarer, a game about taking care of spirts, but you do it all in a ship you have to improve and which you use to travel the ocean. I'm a big fan of the sailing/pirate aesthetic and that game filled my wishes perfectly. Warning: if you play, you WILL cry.
This is a genius idea! And since you said Pirate's of the Caribbean im sold lol. I may pissibly deal with Narcolepsy so i feel you on feeling tired majority of the time. Daytime sleepiness sucks. I just want to feel well rested again.
I would LOVE it if sims added in houseboats again. The possibilities! Right now the best pirate content is assasins cred black flag(or maybe sid meyer's pirates) but you can't even make your own character :/

Honestly, that hypothetical Sims pirate spin-off sounds awesome. And the build is awesome too. I swear I do look at the screen sometimes! 😅 I'm tired too, because I did not sleep well last night. I'm also autistic, and sometimes my sensory issues make it hard to get comfortable, plus I have anxiety. So sometimes sleeping is hard for me. Also it's my birthday and that adds to the anxiety, hahaha.... 😣
Oh gods, yeah. I'm SEVERELY anemic, like I'm talking my last blood test said I had 11% iron saturation (for those of you who don't know, it should be about 25-35%) which leads to me just having absolutely no energy to do anything, including taking care of myself and I hate when people ask "oh what did you do that you're so tired?" EXIST SHARRON, literally just existing and eating and getting out of bed takes so much energy. That's not even getting into the other things like depression and what not but thank you for saying that cause sometimes just existing is so draining.
If you want a good pirate life game, there is one called Sea of Thieves. I played it with my brother because he also really loves pirates. You can choose and dress your pirate, play online with friends and have them be your crew on your ship, you can go on adventures, fight enemies, collect gold and treasure and sail the ocean. There is so much you can do. There's even special Tall Tales with Captain Jack Sparrow and such good lore to uncover. It is so fun, and if you want a pirate game, I recommend Sea of Thieves.
I'm tired cuz I get stress insomnia from my job (or I stay up late trying to enjoy myself after working at my job) so I'm constantly never as rested as I would like. My job itself also makes me tired. I'm a Direct Support Professional. It's my JOB to essentially help someone else live their life. My main client and I get along pretty well but even then there are a LOT of times where they yell at me for things that are completely out of my control and I can't really be mad at them because they genuinely don't understand why I can't make the world bend to them more. Being an introvert, even the good interactions tend to always take a chunk of my energy too...tbh just existing makes me tired half the time. Life is hard and so many of us have gotten screwed over by the system that it's just exhausting to even think about it. Oh yeah, I also rarely get actual lunch breaks due to short staffing, even though I'm supposed to get 2 due to the long shifts I work.

Sims should definitely include this. I love the idea of pirates and shanty ports. It'd be cool if they were like a new kind of sim so they could have pirate specific interactions or if it came as like a new career thing.

also: the sims 3 would be perfect for pirates, with the whole open world feature. imagine going to map mode and u have ur ship in the middle of the ocean, a few towns here and there around u and u can click to go on them and ur ship starts sailing towards it… visiting pubs, a moodlet where ur pirates get sea sick so u can rent out a room at an inn, rob a few people… PLEASE SIMS 🙏🙏

Pirates are one of my special interests too, there is something about sailing away from all of lifes expected responsibilies that really appeals to my ND brain. Cowboys/Wild West too.
I agree 100% with your idea for a pirate spin off of the Sims. I think it sounds amazing now if only the Sims team would acknowledge their fans.
There's an older game called "Pirates". It was very fun. You sailed around the Caribbean and attacked other ships. You could also shell cities (or convince other priates to attack them) until their numbers were reduced enough that you could go in, sort of like how Risk is played, and conquer a city in the name of whatever empire you served. You could dance with the governors' daughters and woo one and marry (once you were rich enough). And you could attack the legendary pirates and get maps to their buried treasure, as well as maps to lost South American cities, full of riches. All the while, you had to keep your crew happy, so they didn't mutiny.
This turned out so stunning.

Im tired because i have a year and half old who isnt sleeping through the night and i have bad insomnia. And my husband doesn't have a set work schedule; some times he works 5am to 2pm, 9am to 5pm, 12pm to 9pm. I also have adhd so my brain doesnt want to turn off at night. I really enjoy your vids. Actually, I had a similar idea that would work almost exactly the same as yours.
As a Trekkie, I would have liked to be able to create space travelling Sims and enjoy their storylines. I also envisioned the way it could work - with spacecraft basically just being special Lots.
There's a game called Space Haven that is a Colony Sim that basically works like that. You build a spaceship the way you would a house, and I would recommend it to anyone who wonders how something like that can work in Sims.
It's also a game where some of your crew (sort of like sims) might be psychopaths, so I'm sure you'd enjoy.
I miss the pirate ships from, I think, Sims 3, where you'd just plop them down at the edge of the water on the beach and they'd be a mini them-park-type adventure. And if you were lucky, you'd meet the ghost.

Sid Meier's Pirates plus sims. It's 100% possible. That game is so old and your character 100% swung onto the deck.

I'm not sure if you'll see this, but I LOVE the album Carmen Miranda's Ghost by Leslie Fish and Vic Taylor. It's old, but it's SO good. It's essentially ghost stories and sea shanties in space. Highly recommend.

you hit the nail on the head about bg3 and the sims that's what is happening to me i haven't played bg3 in literal months bc my brain is fried i guess even though i love the game so much its just easier on my fatigued body and brain to play the sims bc less thought
If you manage to make a pirate simulator for Sims 4, making a space battle Star Wars simulator is just a matter of adding different textures. They already own the Star Wars rights. There's the next building suggestion for you ;-)

Gurl, *same.* I have chronic migraines and depression (also ADHD and probable autism) and have never once in my life woken up feeling rested. Some days, It'll be like I'll occasionally lose "power" and just turn off for a nap briefly, other days I'm just constantly "low battery" and always nodding off, and then other days I'll simply forget to sleep entirely. Absolutely, normalize the "I Am Eepy" mood! I am bad at words but I am trying to show support for the things what you said earlier!
Also, MOOD about not having the mental capacity for Games With Plot like Baldur's Gate 3 (I still haven't finished Chapter 2...of my first run). Sims is good brain-off time, agreed, and I have a list of similar mood brain-off happy games to recommend: Slime Rancher (series), Astroneer, Plate Up, Palworld, Subnautica (series), and some lesser-known gems like Ooblets and Arcade Paradise. I'm not saying you HAVE to play and like the same games I do, I'm just pebbling. I also have no idea if you already knew about and/or tried these. But just in case, pebbles.

Gorgeous job as usual. I'm tired recently for no reason. I think it could be depression, because I am diagnosed and there where some things in my life that could cause it. Well I'm trying my best to not give up, but today I spend whole day in my bed and you make me feel not guilty about it.
I like this build so much, you always do a fantastic job! On the subject of Tired™️, I am also disabled, and I am completely out of my pain medication because of the never-fuckin-ending shortage, but I’m having to manage a whole house of pets and shopping by myself while my family is away, and it’s a LOT. I was having moderate sensory breakout in the Walmart check-out due to the combination of pain and loud repetitive noises so like, I feel you 110%, and I couldn’t agree more about normalizing being tired for the sake of it and for no reason!!
If you like the concept of sailing, not just pirates, I highly recommend Spiritfarer, a game about taking care of spirts, but you do it all in a ship you have to improve and which you use to travel the ocean. I'm a big fan of the sailing/pirate aesthetic and that game filled my wishes perfectly. Warning: if you play, you WILL cry.

I'm tired too, because I did not sleep well last night. I'm also autistic, and sometimes my sensory issues make it hard to get comfortable, plus I have anxiety. So sometimes sleeping is hard for me. Also it's my birthday and that adds to the anxiety, hahaha.... 😣

Oh gods, yeah. I'm SEVERELY anemic, like I'm talking my last blood test said I had 11% iron saturation (for those of you who don't know, it should be about 25-35%) which leads to me just having absolutely no energy to do anything, including taking care of myself and I hate when people ask "oh what did you do that you're so tired?" EXIST SHARRON, literally just existing and eating and getting out of bed takes so much energy. That's not even getting into the other things like depression and what not but thank you for saying that cause sometimes just existing is so draining.

If you want a good pirate life game, there is one called Sea of Thieves. I played it with my brother because he also really loves pirates. You can choose and dress your pirate, play online with friends and have them be your crew on your ship, you can go on adventures, fight enemies, collect gold and treasure and sail the ocean. There is so much you can do. There's even special Tall Tales with Captain Jack Sparrow and such good lore to uncover. It is so fun, and if you want a pirate game, I recommend Sea of Thieves.

I'm tired cuz I get stress insomnia from my job (or I stay up late trying to enjoy myself after working at my job) so I'm constantly never as rested as I would like. My job itself also makes me tired. I'm a Direct Support Professional. It's my JOB to essentially help someone else live their life. My main client and I get along pretty well but even then there are a LOT of times where they yell at me for things that are completely out of my control and I can't really be mad at them because they genuinely don't understand why I can't make the world bend to them more. Being an introvert, even the good interactions tend to always take a chunk of my energy too...tbh just existing makes me tired half the time. Life is hard and so many of us have gotten screwed over by the system that it's just exhausting to even think about it.
Oh yeah, I also rarely get actual lunch breaks due to short staffing, even though I'm supposed to get 2 due to the long shifts I work.
