@@jazzysugar3777 it's curious what are you saying, because I was called -not directly- transphobic for telling I'm pansexual lmaooo
In some circles I used to be, is very bad seen being "pansexual" since they argument that the bisexual manifest explains that being bisexual is (in simple words) being attracted to "your gender and the others genders", so the manifest encapsulates bisexuality is not just 2 genders, but many genders, including your own. This is what ppl used to told me, but I'm not sure about the exact content in the manifest. So, in theory, pansexuality shouldn't even exist...
the big problem I see is that they use "your gender", but what if I'm agender?
That's why I feel more comfortable with Pansexuality than Bisexuality

aroace here! (also little rant sorry about that c:)
it pisses me off the NO END when people call straight aro people and straight ace people, not queer. asexual is a valid sexuality. aromantic is a valid romantic identity. you can be one without the other or you can be both or you can be neither. none of that makes you more or less queer than anyone else in the community. the a in lgbtqia+ stands for agender (which is also always forgotten about D: ) aromantic and asexual. not ally.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.
One cannot call a space accepting of asexual or aromantic people if said space bars asexual heteroromantic or heterosexual aromantic people from entering.

as an asexual lesbian, i recently discovered i'm valid. i've seen so much people say "lesbians are perverts who want to be touched by women" so i always thought i couldn't have been ace and a lesbian, so there has been so much self doubt in my teen years, i always felt like an imposter because i had so much internalized homophobia (esp growing up in an more christian blasian household) but the lgtbq+ community has always been so accepting and kind answering my somewhat stupid questions. my family is also trying their best to be supportive of me. happy pride month :)

it's funny, just this year i discovered that i'm aromantic.
For the longest time, i thought i was biromantic/bisexual since i felt 'equally attracted' to p much any gender, and i obviously still feel sexually attracted to anyone who's my type. But i could never not hold a relationship, and as i got older romantic advances made towards me just kinda stressed me out. It's freeing to know now that that's not because i'm 'broken' or have issues getting close to people. I just finally found the right word that fits me.
Rather than outward hate, i often see so many people around me who seem to have an issue with 'labels'. Wether it's about sexuality or mental health etc, they think being grouped into a category is a bad thing, rather than something that can genuinely help people understand and accept themselves. Were it not for this 'label', i'd still beat myself up over my inability to be the romantic partner people want me to be.
The only real bummer was that coming out to my parents as aromantic wasn't as dramatic of a reveal after already being out as bi, lmaoo

So it's funny to me that the lesbian flag is considered one of the prettiest pride flags today (it is), because for the longest time, there was not really a flag at all. And the flags they had were considered "ugly" by the majority of lesbians. In 2010 the "lipstick lesbian flag" got introduced, which is all shades of pink/red(and white in the middle) with a smooch in the left corner. But a lot of lesbians disliked that it only really represented femme lesbians. So then a few years down the line a butch flag got created (more orange and earthy tones) to 'match' the femme flag essentially.
And then instead of two separate femme/butch flags, someone just went "Ok... but what if we put them together tho?" It first had 7 rows of colors, but for simplicity sake it got tuned back to 5. Anyway. That flag got created in 2018, y'all!!! 😱That's not old at all! It's the same year the "new" aro-ace flag got introduced (the sunset one). But yeah, it took the lesbians a while to get a decent flag, but damn is the one they got fire. 🔥

Trying to judge whether someone's identity is valid or not defeats the whole purpose of pride in the first place. If you identify outside of the norm, you are, by all means, included within the community.
The way people are trying to strip away other's identities to force them into boxes all over again is so incredibly annoying. No one gets to dictate who's experiences are or are not valid, labels exist for the INDIVIDUAL to use, not for the public to weaponize or force upon others.

My experience as a fellow bisexual:
I didn't even realise I was one for several years of my life for many reasons.
    1. I thought it was normal to say stuff like "oh if I were a boy I'd totally date that girl" (heteronormativity);
    2. I thought that being attracted to boys and to girls would be the exact same thing for me, which it isn't. I understood with time that most of the crushes I had for boys were caused by the desire to be wanted, accepted, seen. I craved validation but I didn't actually like that many guys. With girls it's always been different.
    3. Internalised misogyny ruined my relationships with girls. There were times when I was attracted to someone, but it felt like envy. I couldn't stand certain girls because of how pretty they were and they intimidated me.
    4. I actually thought that you have to fit in a strict criteria to consider yourself bisexual. No you don't. As long as you are attracted to more than one gender, you're good to go. You can have preferences. It's everything up to you and how you feel and identify. You don't have to prove anything to anyone.
These are just some things that I'm glad I learned and unpacked. I hope I can help someone else. I'm bi and proud but still basically closeted.
Don't ever let anyone tell you who you are. Live your truth!!!

FGG spitting some absolute facts! Also, i identify as bi for the exact same reason lol! I think LGBTQIA+ labels are very important and useful for exploration, finding out who you are, and learning how varied sexuality and gender are and can be, and are a good way to be able to quickly convey your general experience to someone. However, people can be so focused on labels and whether or not those are "valid," which has created a similar kind of judgment as what certain cishet people have for all of us. I feel like if we could come to the collective agreement that we don't have to understand or even know anything about someone's sexuality or gender in order to treat them just like everybody else, support them, and fight for their right to live freely, then things would get a lot better.
Anyways, I love this build! The saving situation sucks, that sounded so stressful, but I'm glad we got this gorgeous garden, it's my favorite! Also, I'm trans and I GUFFAWED at the "maybe it's not the time for egg jokes.." Caught me so off guard lol. Happy pride!

I grew up religious. Even now, my parents still go to church, but they are one of the rare few who actually treat others according to how that person behaves, not the person's choice of love, or even lifestyle. I came out to my mom through my hair. I had it dyed 6 years ago, the color of the bi flag. When mom asked why I chose those colors, I told her it was because those are the colors of the bisexual flag. She said "are you saying that you're bisexual?" When I nodded, her response was, "I don't have to agree with something in order to love you and respect you. Quite honestly, when you were in 6th grade, your father and I talked about it. We both already knew you liked boys, but that was also when you started showing interest in girls. As long as you are happy and safe, that is all we care about" I'm now married to a pansexual man who I grew up with. Whenever I do my simself saves, I always put the bi and pan flags in our gaming room.

Fun fact, the Bi flag isn't actually blue for boy pink for girls! The colour's originally came from the pink triangle used to mark gay men during WWII, said triangle then being used to represent homosexuality. This was then used with another triangle, a blue one representing heterosexuality, which overlapped the pink to create a small purple triangle representing bisexuality as a whole :)
Also Lesbian originally meant a woman who liked women, even if they also liked men, so if you want, you can totally identify as a lesbian, or a pan lesbian, or whatever :)
Respect good faith identities, ya know? Be who you are, there are better things to put anger towards than people's happiness. Be who you are :)

imo, bisexual is just the umbrella term for any multi-sexuality (liking more than one gender). pansexual would fall under bisexual, but it’s more specifically “gender-blind” in its attraction
i’m bisexual, and not pan. i have preferences in gender so that wouldn’t make me pan
i find identifying as bisexual is just easier to communicate, but if i were to go into the micro labels, im omnisexual
omnisexual refers to someone who is attracted to all genders but has preferences

    Here's how I understand it:
If you are into 2 or more genders, you can call yourself Bi
If you are into 3 or more genders, you can also call yourself Poly-oriented
If you are into all genders, then you can also call yourself Omni
If you are into all genders equally, then you can also call yourself Pan
Of course this is kinda generalized/simplified in terms of both the definitions of these orientations and the concept of gender as a whole.
    4:21 -
It really depends on which variation of the Lesbian flag. The colours of the 7-striped flag by Tumblr user shapeshifter-of constellation, which is one of the most common Lesbian flags along with the 5-stripe simplification, was given these meanings by Tumblr user Sadlesbiandisaster:
    Dark Orange - Gender Non-Conformity
    Medium Orange - Independence
    Light Orange - Community
White - Unique Relationships to Womanhood
Light Magenta - Serenity and Peace
Medium Magenta - Love and... _WooHoo_ (I doubt YT would let me use the actual word 😅)
    Dark Magenta - Femininity
    4:29 -
Michael Page, who created the commonly used Bi flag, gave these meanings for the colours:
    Magenta - Same-gender attraction
    Blue - Opposite-gender attraction
Purple/Lavender - Attraction to "both" genders (this has since been reinterpreted as attraction to all genders)

I have heard people describe bisexuality and pansexuality using basically the same words, so. I used to call myself bisexual (back when it meant being attracted to women and men), then I learnt more about gender and LGBTQ and found out about pansexuality and now I call myself pansexual. Gender is not what attracts me in the first place, it´s about the individual. What a cool looking house!!

  • @gamzmakarena
    @gamzmakarena 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

About your bit of identifying with pansexuality or bisexuality, what I heard is that bisexuals and pansexuals are essencially the same thing, because otherwise bisexuals would potentially be transph0bic for being gender exclusive (only attracted to specific genders or whatever).
I asked bisexuals on a very popular streamer's post about it and they explained. Aparently the grand thing is that the term bisexual first appeared in a time where the gender identity discussion virtually didn't exist, and thus sexuality was resumed to being attracted to the opposite sex, the same sex or "both sexes". As of today, we understand that gender is more then just "both sexes". When that discussion evolved, the term pansexual was created to include every person regardless of gender, which put bisexuals into a delicate place. Eventually, bisexuals had to clarify that they were attracted to "more than one gender", and that is just pansexuality reworded.
By the time this was clarified, the pansexual movement was too big and strong to be dissolved, and thus, today being bisexual or pansexual is a matter of which label and flag you identify more with. That's what several bisexuals explained to me under that twitter post at least.

    @altalt479 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I (very idiotically and ignorantly) used to believe that asexuality wasnt valid specifically because they werent prosecuted to the same extent as the other sexualities. I just saw it as well, plenty of people go through life without being in romantic or sexual relationships and no one really cares too much but the reality is a lot more nuanced than that. Ace people are pressured by society to engage in romantic and sexual relationships, its not just "oh they dont want a relationship" its the fact that they physically CANNOT feel either romantic or sexual attraction or both and it doesn't just end there. Voicing their sexuality can often make it a lot worse as people will often think theres something mentally wrong with ace people and historically a lot of people who were most likely ace (though they most likely didn't even know that existed at the time) underwent horrible psycological treatment and were often even hospitalized for specifically not engaging with romantic or sexual advances. I mean what do people think happened to the many ace people who didnt want to marry back in the day? A LOT of them were ostracised from society because of that. So even the idea that ace people are less prosecuted isnt true.
I do think a lot of the vitriol against sexualities like demi and ace is the fact that people see the lgbt community as a way for specifically marginalized groups to celebrate their sexualities that historically have been demonised and even made illegal for hundreds of years and they sort of see it as a "you have to earn it" sort of thing and they dont see those sexualities as something that was ever fought against, when in fact they were.

The whole "ace people don't deserve/need pride because they don't face the same persecution" thing really chaps me because that's the aspect of my identity I've struggled with the most. Being panromantic? Fine, people can understand that. I've spent my entire life surrounded by people who experience that type of attraction and I just... don't understand it. How many ace people in the world have been pressured into acts they didn't want because it's "the thing people do"? How many times has that escalated to abuse or assault? We may not face jail time, but we still do face violence from people who don't understand us and there are countries where instances of "intimate" violence within the confines of a relationship are dismissed or ignored, even if it's illegal. And there are some where, when married, it's not illegal at all. I'm not saying all instances of spousal or partner "intimate" abuse are related to ace people, but I do know what it is like to spend a huge chunk of your life not understanding why you don't want these things and being pressured and even forced to do them because it's expected. Ace representation that was easily visible earlier in my life would have saved me so much heartache and pain. Finding out there were people like me, who experienced similar things I do, and through that finding the language to adequately explain my feelings and understand them was a huge revelation and I believe that's a huge part of what Pride is for. Also, our flag is just the best in my opinion. The most important eye shadow palette I'll ever need.
Regarding bi women in "straight" relationships not belonging at pride - gross. Sorry, but statistics are not on the side of bi women having sapphic partners. There are a lot more men attracted to women than women attracted to women, so statistically bi women will be more likely to be in relationships with men. Also, same for bi men, but for some reason they don't get the same hate/mention. It feels like a way to erase sapphic attraction as lesser or more of a phase. If you're a bi woman who feels she shouldn't be at pride, just know that I'm a panromantic woman married to a woman so I balance you out and you should be there to represent my alternate universe self who ended up married to a dude.

this video and what you talk about in it means a lot to me. this is the first year I get to celebrate pride month with my sister, since I was closeted and she didn't even know she was queer a year ago. pride month was supposed to be a positive and bring attention to everyone who can't be themselves, but instead it's been filled with so much unnecessary hate.
I'm an ace lesbian and my sister is bi, since I made a post about us, people on the internet has been trying to make us hate eachother. this pride month, and quite a lot before it as well, the amount of bi- and lesbophobia within the community has upset me a lot.
people act like my sister and I should hate eachother because of our sexualitys, and that is horrible. people want to act like most lesbians are biphobic and most bi women are lesbophobic, when in reality the majority of us support eachother. it's sad when the hateful people are the loudest.
that's even without talking about the hate asexual and aromantic people, as well as people under the trans umbrella get. it's so unfair and unnecessary that people hate on eachother within the community instead of focusing on actual issues for queer people.
there are so many lgbtqia+ people (many of us still kids), who struggle with mental illness, bullying and abuse because of the way we are. there are people who get killed, people who live their lives hiding and scared.
the actual issues are so much bigger. laws, hatecrimes, su*cide and such things. we should've used this month to help the queer people who suffer instead of hating on eachother.

I’m pansexual who identifies as bisexual just because when I growing up pansexuality wasn’t really a ‘thing’ if you know what I mean? So yeah, I’m attracted to the person, not their gender but I’m more comfortable using the bisexual identity just because it’s the one I’m more familiar with.

This video really spoke to me, me discovering I was biromantic was a process. I identified as bisexual for so long before I realized I was biromantic. Great video 💜

As a Hetromantiac Asexual, thank you !!!! I’d rather focus on the erosion and attacks towards the LGBTQIA+ community than stupid gatekeeping BS !!!
Also the Ace room is awesome! I want that wallpaper !

I enjoyed the rant, and I still found it relaxing and a comfy mental space to be in, so thank you!

4:27 the wanting a flag because it’s pretty is so real! I don’t really connect with neptunic anymore bc I don’t have much regard for gender, id be leaning closer to Omni, but Omni doesn’t really fit either and the neptunic flag is so pretty… turns out I’m Labelflux and that’s why
9:48 my mom goes to pride events with me and she’s an ally? You don’t even have to be in the LGBTQ to go to pride events, just go show support-

I actually did research on the topic for my project where I turn Pride Flags into Magical Kids! The current lesbian flag is a combination of the Butch lesbian and Femme Lesbian flags, with a white stripe in the middle for those who are neither!

Hello! Fellow Pansexual ADHD girly ✨
I agree with the rant, I’m scared to tell anyone around me aside from my close family and friends that I’m Pansexual, especially people who are older because even with my parents they’ve tried to invalidate my sexuality at first. I feel like a lot of people assume Pansexual is the same as bisexual and that it’s just a way to make ourselves feel “special”.

Can't believe you made the bi batbroom choose between a tub and a shower /lh
I love the house and your commentary, thank you ❤

The trans "room" being the gardens is the best. Toss up a hammock or egg chair swing and just leave me there with a book and a cocktail please.

My pan wife says “the difference between bisexual and pansexual, is just if you like a warm or a cool color palette” 💜

Honestly "I like the flag better" is as much a reason to go with pan vs bi as a multiply attracted person. Like, obviously people have deeply-held reasons for preferring one or the other for themselves, but also the experiences largely overlap and there are people who use more than one label interchangeably (I use both bi & queer, depending on the conversation it's coming up in).

I feel like whoever lives in this build would be SOOO comforting and kind, and supporting, and would just like let people who need a welcoming place to stay crash there and I love that 😭
