User you need to get paid for that cause your the one who posted something that made other users out there get glued to the screen for a minute or 5 so that counts cause you occupied their space as a user and by you sharing that post of someone makes it a big deal (your reactions to their algorithm).👀 🤔IF WE DIDNT POST ON THEIR PLATFORMS THEN THOSE PLATFORMS WILL BE USELESS...RIP MIX-it😢... Well seeing a couple examples of companies being greedy, the chances are we dont get a single share of our own data. This is unless we users stand up to fight for it which is unlikely as of right now but doesn't mean its impossible. Most of the time corporations disregards their users needs and try to give the bare minimum, though this doesn't mean im saying the entire industrial society is full of evil wretches, but it is unlikely to find a saint in the pits of hell. An app ban was always going to be impossible to enforce, especially in America. If you have an Android (I don't know much about iOS) you can just download and install apps and their updates through your browser.

    • @bodiwire
      @bodiwire 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +73

      @Zeroshiki True, but apple has the majority of phone market share in the US and sideloading on ios isn't really possible for most people, at least not without some janky workarounds. Even on Android where it's very simple to do, the vast majority of people won't do it. They don't have to block access completely to effectively ban it. If you block the majority of people you kill the platform all the same because content creators go where most of the people are and most of the people will go to where the content creators are which won't be tiktok anymore.

    • @cpete1459

      It's specifically China that wants the US's data. Not just the US but every country they can get their hands on. China doesn't allow their own people to have a personal Facebook account, but here in the US people don't educate themselves enough on it. China is way more invasive of a person's personal data. If you're more of a country side side man with little technology, you are considered somewhat of an outcast and should be monitored with what information they can get on you. Never had TikTok, don't want one and I won't allow my future children to have an account.

      Anyone in the world can become an American citizen but no one can become a Chinese citizen but a Chinese person.
      The unequal opportunities are many between the US and China. Especially when it comes to business.
      It's happened before Chinese Nationals work in American companies only to steal information and take it back to their home country to be repurposed.
      So the whole thing about American companies sounds good on paper, but when you look behind the curtain and see the definitions and different things that have happened, it's a moot point.

The government will do anything in its power to stay superior; I'm a conspiracy guy but if they say China is up to no good in this specific matter I believe them. The super viral congress meeting with the TikTok CEO was merely what the public could see that's why the same questions were being asked, The Congressman and women who took time to talk were briefed by the government and were allowed to see in full scale what TikTok could do hence the decision to ban it. TikTok is also used to influence congress bills and presidential campaigns hence why the TikTok CEO begged Americans to protest and get TikTok off the list of being banned. The bigger issue is its parent company Byte Dance that has been directly linked to the CCP. The government also discovered a "backdoor" that Byte Dance was using to the get to the info of TikTok users. If TikTok is just a normal app, why is it banned in China (Byte Dance Home Country) (sorry if there's any typos English isn't my main language)

    I find it ironic that Congress is worried about national security through TikTok but defended a private citizen who had unsecured classified documents in unisex toilets at Mar-a-lago. Anyway...
    ByteDance is owned by a combination of investors, founders, and employees. 80% of them are OUTSIDE of China, including some Americans.
    Another reason Congress (Zuckerberg) wants ByteDance to be sold to an American is for the technology and algorithms. Instead of spending time and money on resources trying (and failing) to replicate TikTok, it's faster for them to just take TikTok, I mean, sell it to an American entity.
    Congress (Zuckerberg) may see the future in AI. To develop AI, you need a TON of data and who has a lot of data - TikTok. To them, it's faster and cheaper to TAKE what they want instead of spending time and money on trying to duplicate something already in existence.
    Just like the colonizers took the land from the indigenous and just like they took the agricultural goods grown by the enslaved - they just took it.
    Good for ByteDance for not caving (ABC/George Stephanopoulos and MSNBC/Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski). Hopefully, TikTok stays. Hopefully, Lemon8 stays and becomes the new TikTok. It's just time to start standing up the metaphorical bullies and start getting some of our freedoms back to the general public.

First, China has 2 currencies, an internal use and an external use, a Chinese company’s autonomy is determined by how much CNY (as opposed to to CHN) they may possess, that amount is set on a company to company basis, and is set to zero for all of them (😂) - since the Chinese government can restrict ANY action via their social credit score internally this means they absolute and total control of every single company, both de facto and de jure…

      Exactly this. Thank you for commenting some sense. China won't even let their own people have personal Facebook accounts, but advertised TikTok to the US American culture and have been collecting our data ever since. Never had an account, and don't want one. People want to say the US Government spies on their own people, and they do, but it's not nearly as intense as the Chinese government on their own people. Why would an "entertaining" app want to know your location at all times even when you're not using it? TikTok is heavily advertised everywhere, I get there adds all the time. Sorry, but if I have children my child will not be allowed to have a TikTok account let alone new apps to come. History repeats itself, the issue may be TikTok now, and if it's successfully banned here there'll just be a new app to be under investigation.

      @@TheSpartan3669 people seem to forget this part. It’s not the deed being done, it’s who’s doing it. Social media is a powerful tool. I don’t like the U.S. government having my information, but I sure as hell wouldn’t let China have it either.
