    Coincidentally I pulled my Kmart one out earlier and cooked some naan bread on it at 800W. It kept saying E5 and I repeatedly turned it off and on again to get it working. Next time I'll try setting the temperature as you say and hopefully that will work better. Thanks.

      From memory E5 is a temperature sensor error - might need to take that one back! Or if you're proficient (and this is only recommended if you're a qualified electrician) then you can open it up and check for dicky soldering on the thermistor or whatever it uses.

    Congee is Chinese rice porridge - mostly served in a large heated cooker for breakfast with various toppings that you add to taste. My old induction cooker (bought in Hong Kong) has a congee setting - I assume because it takes a long slow cooking time and the element turns off after 1 hour on the regular setting - but I haven't actually checked this out.

      Oooh that sounds interesting - thank you for letting me know!
      Not sure if this one turns off, but it includes a timer up to 3 hours I think it was, so I'd assume so!

    So that means all my aluminium frypans and sauce pans are not gonna work on this unit?

    • @platima
      @platima  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes but not just this unit, they will not work on any induction cooker due to the underlying nature of how induction works (electromagnetism / conductivity at a distance)
      You can get steel or copper-clad aluminium though - that works well!

    Just tested all my stainless steel pans/pots and a magnet will stick to only one of them 😭

      Sorry to say they likely ain't stainless steel then friend! Do make sure it's a good magnet though, eg rare earth / neodymium, not one of those weak fridge magnets, as some pots and pans have a steel inner lining, which still works!

      @@platima Thanks mate. I've learned a lot as this is my first induction cooker. I have purchased a fry pan and a sauce pan that is made for all cook tops and are safe in the oven too 😁
