@Lylee cow rice is when you put a really loud exhaust, lower the car extremely, camber (tilt) the wheels out a lot, and put dumb looking body modifications.
So lucky I really want one. I only see one driving around out town. And I envy that guy too. He’s a 300 lbs driving around don’t even have to lower the car too haha.
I remember getting a CRX when I was 16. It was one of the coolest cars you could get at the time. I had mags and lowered it on the ground. I got an exhaust and pod filter and had it dyno tuned. I was running a 2 1/4 inch exhaust and it was quick. I used to pull the speedo cord out of the gearbox to allow the car to go beyond the 180 cut out. I would always drive the motorways at redline in 5th gear.
I had a CRX and then a Del Sol. Worst thing about them is how close the exhaust is behind you. I couldn't daily those again now that I'm older unless the exhaust was closer to stock.
So glad to see that you actually masked off the valve cover when painting it, thank you! Lol, I hate how almost every single person in the Honda community will spray a valve cover without masking any of it off. Then they end up with paint in the plug tube holes and inside the valve cover, it always looks trashy that way, and why would they want paint inside their engine lmao
@@TrollinAreYou it isnt half assed, its just you paint it without maskin, put the oil cap on and the paint will tear easy because the threads are still a little greasy, take the oil cap off, put the valvecover on the engine and boom there you go freshly wrinkle paint valvecover without masking :) its not that i dont want to tape it off its just easier this way in my opinion
One of the most iconic and original designs Honda Motor Corp ever produced. Way cooler than it’s DelSol replacement. Classier lines than any generation of the Prelude ( which I am a huge fan of). I had a 1987 CRX Si in black. It was a really cool little 2 seater. That rear foam OEM spoiler was so strange. I kept it pristine, so when my buds found out that it was basically the consistency of a nerf football, they just had to ask for a punch in the jaw when they would press their thumbs into it, causing the paint to easily spider web and crack. What a strange, heavy material to use as their Si production spoiler??! …. So.. the next year (1988) when this version of the CRX was on the market, I just HAD TO HAVE IT. I had my heart on the Si version in yellow, but all my local dealerships never ordered any Si CRX’s. It wouldn’t have did any good if I did find an 88 Si, because they were too expensive. My credit only allowed for the economy friendly models. So I signed for the baby blue HF version in 5 speed, no A/C, one side view mirror lol. Back then A/C in a Honda was NOT STANDARD EQUIPMENT. You had to basically buy an Si which all came with the moonroof and A/C in the package, but the others had to be ordered. At least that’s what the dealers in my area told me. So here I was making payments for 36 months on a car without AC, standard roll up windows and I was as happy as can be because that 1988 HF model with the steel wheels still looked better and sportier than the previous 1987 Si tiny, boxy car I traded in. I loved that 1988 CRX. I loved going through its 5 gears and rolling up to the gas station only once a week and topping off the 10 gallon gas tank with a 5 dollar bill of 89¢ per gallon of 89 octane. Later in life I needed more than 2 seats to get by in life, so I sold my little light blue CRX and bought a used, immaculate condition 1989 Honda Accord coupe. I think it was an EX model with power moon roof, very stylish pop up n down headlights. The 2 door coupe was still worth the cramped style of having my daughter’s car seat in the center back buckle. No way was I going to drive a 4 door Accord Sedan. Nice cars, but not my style. I have such happy memories of the days I drove those 3 Honda’s. My favorite will always be that new 88 CRX . Unfortunately, it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to find an unmolested, 2nd generation CRX on the market that wasn’t chopped and lowered or without a 4 feet high mess on the rear short hatch that some goof claimed was a wing or spoiler, oversized wheels and tires and a ragged out engine with some goofy aftermarket cold air intake and the original plastic air filtration and intake still with the car. You can thank Hollywood and Mr VIN DIESEL for making every high school boy of the 2000 era buying up every last available Honda CRX and ruining the factory handling with a set of Eibach Springs and throwing all original components away to be gone forever. So….thanks to all you Fast and the Furious idiots for ruining and making the CRX an extremely endangered species. I mean really, these cars were one of two varieties Honda had made. One was a super fuel efficient variety that sometimes got up to 50 miles per gallon on the highway and the other was a “ somewhat” zippy, tight handling Si model. They weren’t ever made to be a super car. Loud and stupid coffee can sided muffler tips speeding up the town’s Main Street annoying everyone as bad as a new Harley owner with newly install drag pipes. It was the end of the wonderful little CRX and I just only wish Honda would produce a retro model that had near identical styling and curves like the original. I’d buy one today if they sold them because that particular CRX (1988-1992-3? ) STILL looks as modern as the cars built and designed by Japanese companies today. It would sell too. So many young college and new to the work force youth would buy that car and enjoy its simplicity and extremely fuel efficient ways with a standard gasoline engine and a 5 -speed gear box. Even the automatic trans were extremely fuel efficient. I miss the good days with quality cars that you got for a great price.

absolute madness. only thing missing is the front badge! beautiful!!!
One of the best restorations I’ve ever seen
I usually dont like any modded crx's but this one is exceptionally well made
Wow! All you did was paint the head cover and it ran like a charm! Honda’s really are the best!!
This is an absolutely amazing job! I’m a Kentuckian too (Covington/Florence). I wish I had half the skills to do this. I’ve got a 1998 Honda Accord that could use a restoration like this. Unfortunately active military doesn’t allow for the time. Keep up the great work!
Bloke! Awesome! Showing the little mistakes in all of it makes it real, keeps you real. Mad rig! Love your work!
I have to say the CRX is still my favorite Honda. This makes me miss the 2 I had.
Those were the wheels to rock on a Honda mid 2000’s remember seeing them when I was like 7-8
Very clean restoration. I like this kind of restorations quite lot without all the unnecessary modifications.
Awesome to see good quality work for the do-it-yourselfers. I'm in the market for a CRX I know when I find one work needs to be done appreciate you showing me the proper way to restore that particular model
I had a car just like this when I was a young adult, man this brings back memories. I'm miss my car!
He made an old car look modern and new this is beautiful
I had a super clean black CRX SI back in the day. I loved that car. I now have an S2k. Wish I still had the CRX too.
Wow... I so miss my 89' CRX dx... Bought it with 50,000 original miles, put a Wings West polyurethane kit on it, only had money for a 1.6 liter an t3 turbonetics set up, an 18" tenzo R rims.... but had to let her go. Lol... Nice re-store job!!!! Looks awesome!!
Beautiful work my friend
Thanks!
I LOVE THEM CRX VTEC ONE, I HAD TWO SILVER ONES IN 1993, HEAVY RESPECT TO YOU FOR BRINGING IT BACK TO LIFE, #SCOTLAND
Top notch work! Love that you kept the Wings West body kit, I have one on my '91 SI Hatchback and it still gets lots of looks.
I dont know whats more impressive the amount of effort to making and editing this video or the effort you put into fixing the car mad skills the car looks dope AF ! ...wish I had your knowledge and skills to fixing cars like this been learning alot about cars and how to work on my car hopefully one day i can get to that level of expertise some day.
Cleanest crx on TH-cam I love the fact that it still has the single cam in it. Oh man I miss the one I had after seeing what you did
僕は日本でホンダに勤めていました。
これほどCRXを大切にしてくれる方が居るのはとても嬉しいです。
Great job hands down. Awesome to see this type of classic get restored. Just can't believe you got it for 1k! Awesome deal
Lovely restoration and glad you kept it as it was and not put it to standard.
Keeps its history too.
I love videos like this. Of people spending time and energy making something better. Very satisfying results.

There can't be many of these left in the world , in the uk my mate had one that was 19 years ago don't think I have seen one since, great job 👍
Car looks amazing..the fact that you kept the original engine and fixed the sunroof is a feat in itself
man that has to be one of the cleanest crx's in this country hat's off to you my man fantastic job!! 👍
Incredible amount of ability and patience. Beautiful build. Thanks for sharing!
for once a video that appeals to guys with what they have in their garages. No specialty tools or extra help from people. No funky editting that skips tons of steps. You make more of these and I promise you'll blow up. good job.
First car was a 89 CRX Si and this just warms my heart. Great work!
Nice restoration Bro, saved 1 from the junkyard. Respect 💯 Bro
I definitely wants to see this with black rims and clear turn signal lights 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
CRX MY FAV CHILDHOOD CAR.
I Miss my old 89 it was sooo beat up... But i loved it . funny story..the radio Antena was broken and there was still some of the metal looking parts around it and when i was drying it, it cut me .. Was bleeding bad and ended up driving home stick with just my right hand...while blood spilling on my jeans and seat..
Still have the scar to prove it hehe.. Then later on i ended buying an all motor crx si . it was the best thing ever..
Sold it .. And now hoping to buy another one ...but videos like yours fills me with joy ! Thank you very much for your hard work!! And i subscribed to your channel . waiting for more vids 👍😂😂
It’s pretty cool to see you still tinkering with Hondas after all these years. Keep it up bud.
Thanks! I was wondering if that was the John Legg I had known in the past.
@@crxseth yes sir lol i actually just picked up a car last year from seandata i bought his JDM front integra and have been playing around with it. Trying to get it more into a driver and not a race car lol
I loved my 87 CRX back in the day. Got over 40 mpg and before hybrids existed 🤣. So fun to drive
Best video I’ve watched all week. The result was amazing I got a bit emo watching it reminded me of my old crx that I let go 20 years ago. So many good memories, with the raw driving experience ain’t the same with new cars, too much power and no effort.
You, sir, are an artist. Amazing! Wish I would have never traded my '90 si. 😫😫
