  • Still not sure why I did this lol.
Yes, I CHOSE to walk 100,000 steps from Uppsala Central Station to Stockholm Central Station in Sweden. This is over 70 kilometers (44.6 miles). Google thinks this only takes 16 hours, but I can assure you... it's much longer!
I went through many places Swedish towns and places along the way, including Knivsta, Vrå, Coop, Bergsbrunna, Nyby, Björksta (but not really), Upplands Väsby, Odensala, Rotebro, Märsta, Rosersberg, Sollentuna, Silverdal, Ulriksdals Slott, Hagaparken, Odenplan, and Norrmalm.
I really hope you enjoy the video. Please give it a like if you do!

Tape your feet with Leukoplast tejp (the beige woven one, red and white packaging. 2.5cm wide) on toes, ball and heel, it'll be like a tough extra skin. Also have a few pair of extra socks to change when your feet get moist. Tricks I learnt in the army for long walks, works well.

You missed Mora Stenar where the first Kings where chosen in Sweden in 600AD. Also there are three farms Edebybro that was owned by my family since the 1600ds. Carl von Linné bought land from us in 1730 to build a road to his farms Edeby and Hammarby. Also Danmark is old Scandinavian and means ”low lands”. A thousend years ago the waterway from Gamla Uppsala and Vaxholm was on these nowadays farmfields. My grandfather is portrayed in the ceiling of Danmarks bygdegård.

If you weren't just ignorantly "for women" in every case you'd be telling women to walk men to their cars because it would make the men safer... but you don't really care about any of that. You care about yourself and other women as to the extent it helps you and use anybody around you to help yourself.

The same goes on bike lanes where both bicyclists and pedestrians share the path. So it’s not just something you should just do for your personal safety. (Trafikförordningen 7 kap. 1 §)

My father spent his whole life talking about the time when he was a teenager and he has his mother drop him and a friend off 25 miles from home and they hiked back on the old rail bed so the way to home. He obviously was more proud of that, or at least it has more important to him than the degrees he got or his backpacking trips in Europe he took in college. I actually don't remember him talking about those hardly at all. But i heard about his trip from Pittsfield plenty of times. I went on a three day hiking trip following the old Bailey-Hazen military road when we were in High School and that is still a stand out memory for me, for various reasons. I think these things are a great idea if you can pull it off. Do the Long Trail, or just go between cities. It will feel like a real achievement, and it teaches you that you can get places if you need to, no matter what. People these days are to used to having a car. They honestly think that if you can't get a ride, well there is no way to travel where they need to go. That's like five miles away, i can't possibly get there! You can literally walk anywhere there is a place to walk. In fact, it's the most mobile form of transportation in terms of all terrain ability. You can go places without roads. And you can definitely do hundreds of miles, it will just take you some time to do it. People used to do it all the time. Most people never went more than a few miles from home, but when they had to get somewhere, most of them just walked. It's the simplest and most basic form of transportation. And theoretically free, besides from whatever you need to avoid starving or dying from exposure. 20 miles in a day is a relatively easy and doable pace for any generally fit person. Whole armies used to travel around at that pace, and covered whole regions that way. So when you see people laughing at the early trains or automobiles because they could travel _twenty miles an hour_ remember that to them, this was a new technology that could cover the same distance in an hour that it used to take a whole day to cover. At best you had horses and a wagon, which might do it a little faster and with less effort, but not much. And trust me, traveling 200 miles in a car at 20mph is still far faster and less effort than walking 200 miles. Although you don't get to see as much. One of the great losses when we stopped using horses is that you didn't have the time or spare attention to see what's going by. Not that there is much worth seeing in most modern roads. The opposite, they don't want you distracted.

Tyler's shoutout made me realize that I TOTALLY want to be subscribed to your channel! I still laugh about when you told Tyler that he doesn't ALWAYS think about that red onions are purple.

The sign you were asking about "Tomgångskörning max 1 minut" means "Idling (with any type of motor vehicle except an electric car I guess) maximum 1 minute". You see them in most small towns and cities. 🙂

There were a father/son team of Hollywood directors named Christian Nyby & Christian Nyby II who made many great movies and TV shows with credits between them from the 40's to the early 2000's. They both directed multiple episodes of one of my all time fave TV programs, Adam-12. Just wanted to throw that in there while you went through Nyby. Love the episode, Meagan!

Your definition of fun is like comparing three types of nice "food". The first is cake and it is really nice and when you think about it you want cake. The second is when you have some new to you food like say, octopus. You are not sure about it at the time but later realise that it was very good. The third is when you try to eat a house brick and realise its not food.

Our flight to NY from the UK was cancelled, so we missed out on an entire day in NY and had to squash everything into 4 days, rather than five. One of those 4 days in Manhattan, I did 73,000 steps in ONE day. I had blisters all over my feet but at least I went up the Empire State Building, Brooklyn Bridge, Ground Zero, Central Park and more. I ached all over… we slept the next day for several HOURS! I will never do 70+ thousand steps ever again. I can usually manage about 20k.

82,000 steps is quite an achievement!!! Maybe, do some training and try again next year. I think you did great, i think for my after I reach my physical limit, I still have my mental reserve to work through as well. So it's a mind, also physical battle of attrition.

Yes! Way to go!! I walked 108,000 steps last year. I planned to only walk 100,000 but we decided to go to 50 miles. It was the most awful and lovely thing ever. I genuinely thought I might die while getting into bed.
This year we went for 35 miles. Which was 72,000 steps. Still very hard and painful but much more manageable.

Hi, Tyler sent me, and I am enjoying your video more than you enjoyed your walk. Cool tip I learned recently learned, when you get cramps, if you eat one or two packets of yellow mustard, most of the time the cramps will go away. Have a blessed day. My most steps in a day was 36,000 and that was at Disney world, Fl.

Damn that was quite a walk. I walked about half of it a month or so ago ( 40 km ) and was completely exhausted after that, had pain in both my feet, back and hips.
Thought it was really well done, I would think it would be easier to do it if it's not on tarmac
