  • I’ve always loved long walks and for the last 2 months had religiously gathered at least 10k steps daily, so I thought why not challenge myself a bit more and try to do 20k daily? And so I did. I walked 20,000 every day for 30 days.
    In this video I take you with me on my journey and share all the amazing benefits I gained, including reduced stress and anxiety, mental clarity, and even weight loss. However, a challenge is not a challenge without some unexpected struggles…

    It takes me 2.5 hrs to walk 20k steps. I start at 4am & finish by 6:30am which burns 800 cal. Took me a month to go from 10k to 20k. Everything you said holds true for me too! My body, mind & soul feel aligned & I'm the happiest version of myself! I also burn 200 cal in the evening by stretching & lifting weights for 30mins. Thanks for sharing your experience! 💕

    I did 20k per day for 6 weeks. 8k at 5am and 8k at 5pm, 7 days a week. The other 4k I got through my normal work day. Completley turned my health profile around. Blood pressure went from 180/110 to 130/85. My chloresteral went from 255 down to 193 and I lost 20 pounds off my skinny fat frame. I also stopped drinking and stopped eating most carbs.

      @@videogazer801 There is more to it than that. My 5k runs drastically improved, my timed one minute mile was as fast as anytime as an adult. My mental clarity and energy was through the roof. This positive energy impacted my friends, family and coworkers. The amount of learning material I was able to absorb. I've changed my diet and quit drinking several times in my life. It was the combination of the low impact exercise AND deleting garbage from my diet that made all the difference.

    Beta endorphin (happy chemical) doesnt get released until weve walked at least 30 mins. So 3 seperate hours is much better for mood than just a few steps frequently throughout the day. I always did ny steps in 3 x 1 hour sessions.

    As a Finnish person I am *stunned* and amused that you would describe a sunny trail in nature as sketchy and creepy 😂 What on earth! My favorite thing about the location I currently live in is that in every direction there is a forest, field or nature reserve close by! It really motivates me to go out! During certain times they are full of people, mostly walking their dogs, but I often get so absorbed in my work making games that I only remember to go out at night and the only area I've felt slightly uncomfortable at night is where the local bar is.

    I once spent an overnight in a holding cell/drunk tank lol. Basically a concrete box with a concrete bed and no mattress or pillow. It was horrific and really an abuse by the police to put a person in those conditions for being drunk while walking home. Anyway, it was the most anxietal, terrifying, and awakening situation in my life. And more than any other thing, when I was let out the next day, just being able to walk around (not drunk lol) and go anywhere your mind desires is a FREEDOM many of us take for granted soooooooooooooooooooooo much. Walking = Freedom.

I’ve been in a school house for the military for the last 30 weeks and have averaged 22,000 steps a day in that time. Some days clocking in over 45,000 steps. Seeing your positive reaction and thinking on how having to walk everywhere has positively effected my health, I’m convinced everyone should be walking way, way more than they do now. Don’t you get bored of the same routes? Or you tried to switch it up as often as you could? My problem is that I get bored of routes so fast (even if I listen to music or podcasts), I live in a big city and really in the center, so Im like where should I go? Not so many parks (or just smaller ones), not so many hiking rails around and I get bored so easily and get frustrated with not knowing where to go (also try to avoid touristy places with many people), when to turn back around, etc…
    So I’m curious how you got over that (if it bothered you any way at all) or “planned” your routes beforehand?
    Btw you really motivated me and planted the seed in my head, so I’m definitely gonna try to walk 20k a day after New Year’s Eve for 30 days 😊

    • @IlvaIgnatovica
      @IlvaIgnatovica  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sometimes i do, but that’s why I try to mix it up as much as i can! I’m lucky to live in a place where there’s a lot of places to walk, so that’s really helpful. Also sometimes i drive to a park or even outside the city and then walk there. I think it all comes down to my outlook on it-The more grateful I am to even be able to walk and enjoy fresh air, the less I complain about little things! :)
      And good luck in your 30 day challenge! ❤️

But for starters, i would quit the fasting and omad and decrease the amount of km you run every day. Your body is not a robot, especially as a woman, loosing your period is a huge sign that all of this is too much. Try to be a bit more gentle with everything and see if that improves your overall wellbeing!

    SOMETHING to seriously think about and plan for
    Smart to bring mace and some other self defence object JUST IN CASE !
    BE very observant of your surroundings too, not a good idea to wear headphones

      Ughh, this is a hard one, i’m sorry you don’t feel safe where you are now.
      For me, i live in a relatively safe and wonderful city so have never felt like I need to look for a specific place. Since I don’t know your area, i can’t really recommend anything specific other than travelling to a well-known, safe public space and then taking a stroll there!

    Good Job!!! I walked my 2 Giant Schnauzers 5.19 miles in 1:24 this am ... That's prob a bit more than 10k steps you think? I want to get to 20k per day.. I might run 5 miles this afternoon without the Pups... But it's 90 degrees here today in the San Francisco Bay Area... Might take a nap instead! Lol.. : ) but you look great!!! So Cute! So healthy!!! I wish that you were "my walking buddy"... I'd love to walk miles and miles with you! ; ) : ) Please have a great day!!! : ) Thank you for the awesome Video!! You inspire me!!! : )

      It’s like asking an accountant why they’re counting numbers. 😄 i’m “videoing” myself, because this is what I do! The challenge (almost 1.5 years old now) was an awesome experience more focused on my mental and emotional well-being and is not meant to be a science video on BMI’s. It’s my personal, tiny documentary!

    I'm a walker and I'd like to know why do you walk so slow and why you don't seem to sweat. I walk 6,300 steps per hour and by the end of just 1 hour my head is sweating like crazy. I'd like to see you at the end of your walk. To be honest, I don't believe in all these videos of girls walking slow and not sweating at all. Too much bull... on on IG, tiktok and now, here.

    • @IlvaIgnatovica
      @IlvaIgnatovica  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      My usual walking is a low effort activity, it does not make me tired hence i don’t sweat. My pace is 5-6k steps an hour.
      But when i pick up the pace to like 7-8k an hour or if it’s super hot outside, then sure, I sweat a bit:)

    • @alaefarmestatesllc
      @alaefarmestatesllc 20 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      There are people like me who sweat buckets, and there are people on the other end of that spectrum. Such is life. Just the way it is.
