That’s good advice. I walk a lot, but I imagine there’s a huge difference between walking 50,000 steps and 100,000 steps. I’m tall so my steps are bigger 😂 I make fewer steps per hour. I would still like to complete this challenge one day.

YES the highest number of steps I reached so far in a day is... the 34K from this challenge 😅 Hah, I didn't consider length to impact the number of steps. But of course, you cover larger distances which take more time. What's your max step count so far?
I think you can do it if you REALLY pace yourself, and stock up on lots of gels and water, maybe roll out the muscles on a mini foam roller in between, not take too long of breaks to prevent soreness setting in (and then not be able to walk for a week)... But I'd rather be safe than sorry and train towards anything beyond my usual 3 hour hikes. Will take a while.

@@DENADAGRACIAthe most steps I’ve done is 41,000 which for me is about 7 hours of walking. I’ve never done a challenge to see how many I can do. This year I want to do 50,000 steps, then I’ll increase by 10,000 step increments. Not sure if I’ll get to 100,000 but who knows? Thanks for subbing, I also subbed to your channel. You’re almost at 1000 congrats!!

I attempted this last year with my friend and We ended up only walking 52k steps, i was kinda stupid since i had a blister under my foot from the weekend before and when the blister broke and turned into a wound it felt like hell walking, i Also used air forces and not proper walking shoes. I hope to do it before i turn 18 so i do have two more summers if i don’t succeed

Ah darn! Yeh, that limits you from the start. Hahaha. Air forces are comfy! I learned from last time that I may want to pack a pair of walking sandals. The feet will swell after so much walking, it hurts inside the shoe and the friction can cause blisters too. Hey, you have lots of time :)

Hey, do you think you will try this again? I failed my first attempt too around 52k steps, but I want to try again when the weather is cooler and do more training in between so I don't get injured. Thanks for sharing your experience and tips!

I'm 100% trying this again! Nice, 52K is a lot! Where did you do your walking? Same, I also won't attempt this unless I've done at least 1 month of 10K daily steps (at minimum), and reached milestones, e.g. hit 30, 50, 70K steps on the weekend (and see how the body responds/how much rest it needs after that) before attempting 100K.

What I don't like about 100k steps is that for some people it's 50 miles, others 45, 55...

You're correct. A tall person will need more time to make the same number of steps. They'll also make a longer distance than I would though 🧐 I'll mention this in my next attempt, and add data on other folks who tried this, e.g. how tall (I doubt I'll find their leg measurements haha, how many miles). Thanks for mentioning!🙏

i did 50k last week and it took me 8h 20 min, with only 10 min total of sitting, and i felt soo tired, so 1000k would take me like 17-18h, it sounds soooo scary

Well done!!! 👏 How was your pace? Did you take other breaks? Yep, from what I've read/seen, you reálly need to get up at 3/4 AM and walk all day, or start at midnight to do the 100k steps.
You could think of it as "uh just put one foot in front of the other and don't stop until you're done." That can work, but it's not the safest option

@@DENADAGRACIA i think i was walking around 5kmph but then down to 4kmhp towards the end. I think another massive barrier for me was boredom.
I spent the first 6h just listening to educational podcasts but then my brain got very tired and i ended up walking the last 2h with nothing playing, not even any thoughts, i was so numb
