@@w0lf667 the RA-168-E in the mp4/4 was the most powerful and efficient engine on the grid. It didn't win because it was loud, the Ferrari was louder that year and so were all the 3.5L naturally aspirated engines also on the grid that year.

@@MathewTheGuitarGuy they only thing they would lack is the torque of the current v6 era. Hes basically saying how would the 90s engine would perform against a similar car with the current v6. It wouldn't be as a efficient however I believe it wouldnt fall too far behind considering it's a 3.5. If it was the more powerful 3 liter I believe it would struggle more on the exit but make up for it on the straights with raw power.

what I can say for sure is that not only the car counts... I think if you can bring ayrton back, let him take the mp4/4 with maximum boost, everybody of todays racers will have a hard time to beat him. Senna has shown many times that he dont need the best car on track to make it hard for his enemies.... I think at the end the modern car will beat him in the corners, because of handling and downforce.... but I dont think it would be an easy win... the old racers are from another material then todays guys... because all of them where okay with the possability to die in cockpit. they dont want to die but have the courage to accept that it can happen. remember niki lauda! he almost died in his ferrari... get heavily burned and his lungs damaged like hell. but he took his helmed, pushed it over his head, full of blody wounds, and go back on the track. this is the immense will to win...and I think this makes them extremely gard to beat, even in a older car. I wish I could see such a battle between new and vintage... but who is left to ask for? maybe alain prost or gerhard berger? and who will give a vintage racecar for a real battle? I mean you cant go that easy on a 30 years old engine and give it full boost... if anything blows up its not easy and cheap to get parts

Pretty sure Honda was cheating with the turbo boost on the 88 Macca car, consider the fact that when Honda pulled out of F1 after 1993 and went to Indy cars, they were caught right away cheating with the popoff valve. How can an engine have what some insiders say was a 200HP advantage over it's nearest competitor ?

Placement of the pop off valve was left up to the teams. And nobody claimed that the mp4/4 had 200hp over the Ferrari in 88. Stop saying dumb shit.
