  • MatrixBrute is arguably the most powerful analog monophonic synthesizer ever ! As flexible as a modular system but offering presets, MatrixBrute is a dream machine for everyone interested in creating a sound palette of their own.

    Whatever you think of this rockband thing in the demo... the synth looks freakin badass

      +d3laiah the synth is nice but the demo song is crap, i wish to hear the synth and not distorted guitars.

    • @d3laiah
      @d3laiah 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +drillobite2 Ah, I see. Well, I actually appreciated that it didn't stand out too much and that I could get an idea of how it sounds in a mix. I personally find it deceiving when listening to a demo of some instrument and it just sits above everything else in the mix, because that's almost never going to happen in a real song with a full band.

  • @Hatren_Music
    @Hatren_Music 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I thought the demo song was great. Shows how perfectly this synth can fit in a mix without sounding out of place. Great mix. Absolutely love the noise tones at 2:30

      +Hatren That noise at 2:30 is what got me too.

  • @d3laiah
    @d3laiah 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I appreciate that they're not making the level of the keyboard super loud as you see in many other presentations. This way, one can really get the feel for how this keyboard would sit in a mix and I think that's something that most people considering buying it would like to know. GJ with the demo Arturia, well done.

    insane specs synths and all we get is a cheesy rock music video ad ? wtf ? is it actually bad sounding for covering it with guitar or what ?

      Rock bands earn good money from gigging and getting in front of peoples faces, they are the people that can afford a good synth like this :)

    • @entr0py1
      @entr0py1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      +vedabou I agree, I think this sounds great and a good example of a mono/para synth sitting in a mix well. I think they did the rock thing to bring it more energy. As a guitarist with a high regard and affinity towards synths, I really dig it.

    • @Suzukisenpai
      @Suzukisenpai 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Daikokuto I am agree! I think same synths need some of like a berlin school electronica with an excelent spacey sync-lead mono/legato solo with filter modulation and etc. Anyway starting part of BGM in this ad sounds very well.

    This is it. This is the new age of modern analog/digital synths.
    Remember the time when the Minibrute first came, and took months to actually come. And no one knew how to use it in NAMM. Remember when we use to drool over overly priced vintage gear. May be this is the beginning of the end of that.

    • @ronnieperez7650
      @ronnieperez7650 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +SoloStuff 100% agree. And frankly, Arturia started the craze. Everyone was using the newest software synths and Arturia marketed the Minibrute just right. I remember the only alternative was some doepfer stuff. If you were to search "Analog Synthesizer" on any music store, you'd get nothing but Moog, and maybe a DSI synth. Then the Minibrute started a new trend (along with Korg.)
      I hope we get a Korg Mega synth soon too! ($1,500/$2,000+)

      Coming from a VST background and only just very recently seriously checking out the 'physical' synth scene I don't remember any of those times but I did notice that synth manufacturers as a whole still seemed to live a few decades in the past. Luckily I seem to come in here at the right time as with products such as this one and the Minilogue changes seem to be coming. I'm excited to see what the near future will bring.

    For those complaining about the (lack of) sound for the MatrixBrute the video is I suspect a deliberate a teaser. Remember, NAMM is going on right now and I am sure they are saving the big intro for that, not TH-cam.

    The best thing about this video is how they broke down each section of the synth, including I/O. Wish more product vids would do that. It would have been nice to hear the synth too...

  • @SebastienLeger
    @SebastienLeger 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    The only reason why you don't hear sounds from this synth on this video is simply because, the synth has just been delivered, there isn't any patches yet ready, this is just a teaser of how it looks like and what is capable of. Look at SonicState preview from Namm2016 and you'll understand why.

    Still rockin that inferior steiner parker filter I see.... Unfortunately there's just not a great deal of versatility with that filter. It's not a bad sounding filter, but it's so distinctive that you can't escape it. Synths should be able to mimic other instruments, which the steiner parker is not very good at in my experience with the minibrute.
    On top of that, I have to point out that there have been several quality issues with the minibrute. If that level of quality is going to be passed to this one for an undoubtedly higher pricepoint, I don't want anything to do with this thing. They're throwing the word "modular" around but having a matrix isn't "The Power of a Modular Synthesizer." I'm not impressed with Arturia's line of analog thus far.

      @RaccoonEatingCacti 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've since learned that there IS a ladder filter included in the matrixbrute, allowing for more acoustically realistic subtractive synthesis. Though this dispute is more about what a synth should be capable of. Either have a filter that can approximate certain musical instrument timbres, or a filter that specifically DOESN'T sound like anything else. I understand the affection for the steiner-parker. It definitely has a characteristic sound, and is usable as a musical tool. That 2 pole just isn't sufficient for my tastes. again, I understand that they've done some improvements so I can't rule out a 24db filter in the matrixbrute, but I've yet to be blown away by arturia's analog synth line. I would definitely prefer a workstation over the matrixbrute, FupaGravy. It probably would be more capable of producing usable sounds. I would prefer an FM synth before a workstation, but if I were forced to make a choice...

    • @BLACKSYNTH
      @BLACKSYNTH 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      you DOUGHNUT. the steiner parker has its own sound. add to that it has a Ladder filter which you forgot to menson. and you can use either or both in series or paralel. this thing kicks a minimoog rought out of the water. yes I own a matrixbrute. yes I own a minimoog voyager.

    That's it, gonna have to sell the wife to get one of these. Considering their roots as makers of software synths Arturia have got proper good at hardware. Lovin my Minibrute.
    To be honest it would have sounded better if he's plugged it in.

    GOD DAMN IT! JUST TAKE MY MONEY!
    I love Arturia products, and I already own several of them...now this? I swear...I'm going to die broke...but happy.

    It's a teaser trailer, like for a film, supposed to get you interested without giving anything away.

    I like the idea of this video but it could definitely be more informative rather than just fluff. I would love to an actual live performance with a nice broad range of sounds used.
