      You might want to try testing a carnivore diet for, say, two months. You do not eat and vegetable, only meat, saturated fats, butter, eggs.
      No carbs, no legumes, vegetables, no sugars. Also no milk, probably some fermented diary like yoghurt is okay.
      Check out Dr Ken Berry on the subject. 💚

    I have been dealing with alot of joint pains and muscle pains in general for a while now. I went to the doctor not my regular as her was on holidays, and found out I tested positive for some soft tissue /joint disease 5 years ago but was never told. She figures maybe my numbers were lower so he never told me. I just got x rtays done on my knees as its painful to walk, I have planta faciatis as well, my body is very stiff when I get out of a chair or wake up in the morning and its hard to walk. The pain runs through out my body and I am prone to migraines. I will be going for blood work December 10th to get my blood checked for menopause and this disease I supposedly tested positive for 5 years ago. I believe I probably have RA. Should I change my diet alot before I get my tests done? or no because it might lower my numbers for the disease alot therefore I might now get a true result or markers explaining the pain?

    Hi
    If could you please answer my question by chance: if ANA is positive 1/640 but ENA is negative. what does this mean?

    • @ConnectedRheumatology
      @ConnectedRheumatology  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It’s very hard to be able to tell you what the ANA means. The 1:640 level would be considered “moderate” so absolutely deserves to be investigated further. The ENA panel tests more specific antibodies for lupus and sjogren’s and although it’s encouraging that they are all negative, it doesn’t definitively rule out these conditions. At this point, the docs will usually go back to the drawing board and try to check all the other, non-autoimmune, reasons why someone would have a +ANA (infections, thyroid, etc) and likely do a lot more autoantibodies outside of the ENA panel. Aside from the lab testing, deciding what the ANA means depends largely on your symptoms. Hope this helps!

    I dont agree with omeprazole, apple cider vinegar is just as effective and isn't linked to dementia. And what about dietary protocols to help inflammation?

    • @dawnlovescouture2644
      @dawnlovescouture2644 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rheumatologists generally don’t believe in a specific diet to treat inflammation. There are no studies to prove that diet changes have much benefit. We are lucky that there are many medications that are proven to slow disease progression.

      @@dawnlovescouture2644 I am living proof that the keto diet works for inflammation, I beg to differ ma'am. I used to be on biologics, high BP meds, allergy meds, and high dose ibuprofen DAILY. Im off all meds for 4.5 years and doing well. I swim, walk, do yoga, and manage my stress and inflammation just fine eating a proper human diet, devoid of sugars, grains, and man made seed oils. I would encourage anyone and everyone to try keto or carnivore that has auto immune issues, type II diabetes, high blood pressure, bipolar depression, anxiety, heart disease and many other ailments. @@dawnlovescouture2644 Uhmm..No.
      He is right for most of patients. Next to this, I'll describe what I learned under 2). Perhaps it can help you too.
      I got rid of my pain in wrists and fingers, and I can say that four of my friends repeated it. Two things:
      1) These days our packaged food is loaded with sugar, refined carbs, cheap vegetable seed oils that cause insulin resistance and chronic inflammation. Quit using that, return to the food your grand grand parents ate. Too bad that over 90% of the supermarket isles are no go area... All this food promotes inflammation, and yes, arthritis IS inflammation 🔥
      Gout: avoid fructose, like in fruit.
      2) Almost no doctor knows this, but some pharmacists perhaps know it.. In countries where the soil has no BORON (an element with properties close to Silicon), like Haiti, arthritis is abundant.
      In areas where Boron is mined, and it is in drinking water and vegetation, almost no arthritis occurs, like in Israel, Turkey and some areas in the USA.
      I make my own supplement, a low dose of boron in water. After 4-8 weeks I was pain free, and this works for 70-80% of people. Do your own research! Don't believe me on my blue eyes, everybody is responsible for his/her own health!
      You may search and download pdf's "Nothing boring about Boron" and "The Boron conspiracy".
      Then there is a Dr. Jorge Flechas with presentations on TH-cam. Very interesting and useful. You have to be persistent, but you'll find him.
      Again, it worked for me.
      In more detail: Avoid inflammation and insulin resistance, those are leading causes for inflammation, disease and early death.
      Having said that: if you smoke, or use alcohol: QUIT doing that.. Not helpful.
      If you can, quit or minimize pain medication like Tylenol, Ibuprofen. It is a burden for your liver.
      Also stop using all the bad vegetable oils, only saturated oils are ok, butter ok, avocado, coconut, olive oil ok. Bad are rape seed, canola, cottonseed, soy, sunflower oils, margarine. They are easily oxidized and promote chronic inflammation.
      I hope your are not a vegan or vegetarian, meat is ok, processed meat only occasional. Forget the junk food, prepare your own stuff with products your great great grandmother would use. Eggs are super, if you can afford organic source. Seeds like pumpkin and sunflower seeds are good, some nuts, if you like it: fatty fish! Caught, not farmed.
      If you use refined carbs and sugar, quit those as much as possible.. Not easy, I know. Treat yourself as being diabetic, unless you lived a healthy life.
      I do intermittent fasting, I always skip breakfast. Oh, bread and cereals, cookies, cakes, deserts, sweets, most chocolate, sweet fruit, sodas are refined carbs too ❌
      If you use medicines, find out for yourself what undesired effects they may have.. In that case do your own research for better alternatives and discuss this with your doctor. Never make changes without medical advice.
      As said. I use Boron, that is a great supplement for bones! It regulates calcium, magnesium and phosphor. Also regulates testosterone, estrogen, and helps your brain. It is anti-inflammatory, and anti-molds. May help sleeping better.
      Very good against osteoporosis, when combined with vit D3, K2(!!), magnesium.
      I make my own Boron supplement. I purchased borax on the internet. Some $10=€10 per kg, this is good for 27 years of use! Dead cheap!!
      I dissolve 10 grams borax in 500 ml water. 1 ml solution contains 2 mg of active Boron. I take 5 ml daily, that equals 10 mg elemental Boron.
      Most important is healthy food and doing your own searches on Google and TH-cam. 🙏🏻💚
