At the beginning of this session he commented someone forgot the guitar strap. You could see he wanted to stand and move but no guitar strap. The GOAT!!❤
It always amazes me when the younger generation discovers this man. Yes there were no tricks, no BS he was a national treasure. Lots you can learn from real talent.
This is a perfect example why forty years after his death....No one has ever, or will ever replace him. He had it all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks guys.
.....he sold over a BILLION records.....more than the Beatles and Michael Jackson combined...chosen by 2 major magazines as the 'entertainer of the 20th century'....Graceland STILL holding down #2 most visited home in America(after the White House).
One of the many reasons why we love Elvis is his humility and gratitude towards the fans that brought him stardom. We have the right to thank God that we have been privileged to live in the time of this amazing and memorable person
Yes I totally agree. It's been a privilege for me since the late 60's to listen to his records and now see the TH-cam videos! Live his gospel songs too. The GOAT! From South Africa.
"He's still performing while sitting down!" That comment of yours made me smile because it's so true; he was a master showman who loved performing to a live crowd. Elvis was the biggest star on the planet in the 1950s. After the army, he spent most of the 1960s making musical movies. Unfortunately, most of them were formulaic fluff and lots of the songs in those movies were awful. Financially rewarding but not artistically rewarding; they nearly killed his career. That's why this 1968 Singer Special is now known as the "68 Comeback Special". For me, it's easily one of the best things he ever did and Trying To Get To You is a standout among many standouts. Glad you guys appreciated what you saw. It's good to be reminded of why the greats remain great.
The black leather sections are my favorite part of the Special! Especially this one where he's with the guys who started out with him! Love hearing them talk about some of their experiences together!!! Old friends!
SMH. DAG. Elvis could SANG man. S-A-N-G. And the swagger - UNDENIABLE. Even while sitting down. I absolutely love the 68 Special. It's legendary from beginning to end for real.
PURE RAW TALENT! THAT IS WHAT ELVIS IS AND ELVIS WAS! No auto tune, no fancy shit, just pure GOD given talent all wrapped up in a delicious REAL MAN! The man exudes masculinity and testosterone. God only made one ELVIS and that's how you know life is not fair children!

A little background on the '68 Comeback Special: Elvis requested that a couple of his original band mates (Scotty Moore on guitar and D.J. Fontana on drums although he played on a guitar case here) come and play with him. When the director saw them jammin' in the dressing room he made it part of the show. They hadn't been together in years while Elvis was making movies so they were having tons of fun. To see more of this check out "That's All Right" (this was Elvis's first regional hit recording); "Baby, What You Want Me To Do", and "Tiger Man". Everything from the '68 Comeback Special is dynamite!
Theater in the roud was all the thing back then audiebce on all sides he was on fire that man packed. The biggest hotel in vegas at that time to capacity twice a night it was beyond great he alwats face 110%
Elvis sang this song when he was at Sun Studios from 1954 55. It must have been a song he really liked. His voice was higher and its really good . If you get the chance listen to the songvBlue Moon from 54 . He was 19 years old its haunting .
This is one of his lesser known songs from the 50s. He did it in 68 again just jamming and goofing around. But he did it with so much animalistic rawness , intensity and rock n roll majesty .... people are still talking about it today. Did you ever ask yourself WHY? The greatness of what he did so long ago will outlive us all......
I've watched alot of concert footage of Elvis and it is amazing how he commanded the stage and had audiences in the palm of his hand . Watch the Aloha From Hawaii ,1973 concert version of the song Fever. All he had to do was jerk his head ,or bend his knees and the women went crazy He laughed to himself because he found it funny that they could be so easily triggered into a reaction
It's called pure love of everyone and everything. Elvis live is Elvis love. He is the king and always will be. To see you react is what he always had. His biggest loss was the love of his life his family.
This was his original band from the 50s. It was sad because he didn't perform with them again after the special. Check out One Night with You from the special.

Neat stuff . He wasn't just a prettyboy, he was one dang good vocalist. If you guys don't mind a chubby Elvis, you should check out 1977's 'Hurt' from the CBS tapes. He really shows off his 3 octave vocal range on that one...
He'd been told not to stand up. Think he was trying to stay in the chair! LOL 😅 Elvis just being Elvis; and enjoying every minute of it! 😎 You don't want to look away too much with Elvis, because you really might miss something! 😅 You'll enjoy it more if you listen more and analyze less. 😉 Thanks for sharing!
