I am a new Ed tech specialist at my school. (First one ever!- No stress there) This is helping me out so much. I can share your videos to the teachers who are more comfortable and provide one on one support for those who need more. You're a lifesaver.
You are AWWWMAZING! I've been thrown into canvas this year and just given a district 3 hour tutorial & told GO 5 days before school. Thank you soooooooooooooo much!
Your video is awesome! I can use this for my college class too. I knew how to link buttons to the pages and make a home page. But you saved me a lot of time by creating the table - copy pasting in a table so that the alignment of the buttons fits well... loved the idea. I never thought of that! Well explained..
Right now I have a button for parents, seesaw, google, clever, abcya, and storybook online. I am not sure if I will use them all yet, but I have links to my seesaw, abcya, storybook, and our district homepage. Thanks so much for these videos! They are very helpful:)
You are amazing! I have been trained by you before and you have shared so many wonderful tips for Canavs! I love the videos, but as I am prepping my homepage for the upcoming school year I have ran into an issue. I has changed around and added several new buttons to meet county expectations, but now I cannot get the size of my buttons to match- I have tried adjusting the button sizes without any luck! Any ideas?
That is so annoying and has happened to me too:( Are you putting them in a single-column table? If all else fails and you have access to Canvas Chat, sometimes they can fix it for you:) Also, let me know where I trained you. Glad you're here!
lolleys Cherokee County Preschools several years ago! I’m teaching kinder at Hasty now and the canvas trainings are definitely coming in handy now! I might have to try the chat and see if they can help! It’s 4 columns wide, in edit they are all lined up but saved the two middle columns are smaller!
First of all, thank you for making all these videos so easy to watch, clear, and to the point, without extra "fluff". Second, I love the Jeopardy music each time we have to wait. Third, I have a question. When you assign a link to a button is there a way to make it open on a new tab, because what happens when you click on the link you leave Canvas and have to click on the "back" arrow to go back. Is there a work around that? Thanks!
Mariana, what a precious comment. Thank you...music and comedy are my coping mechanisms, ha ha. I believe there is a way to make them open in a new tab, but I can't paste screenshots here. Will you email me? suzylolley@gmail.com
I appreciate you making videos for non-techie people like me. It was easy to follow and it helped me so much. Quick question: Could you tell me what the first video was in your series? I'm a little confused on what my units or modules will be?
Hey there. Thanks for watching. I have a whole series on Canvas for Littles, and one of those was called modules. You can look at the dates to see the order I uploaded them in:)
ohmygosh!! amazing! thank you! you explain it so well! Do you have any suggestions on how to make the buttons send them to a Weekly Module that has Monday-Friday assignments? :D
We have just been informed that the ipads that students use at home cannot get the links to all of the items on buttons, virtual classroom, etc. Does anyone know a work around for that? Thanks for all of your help and great tutorials!
Hey there, another viewer told me that if you upload the buttons instead of copying/pasting, they work just fine:) That's a Canvas thing sometimes. You can still use your same buttons. Just save as images and upload into Canvas.
I noticed that the seesaw linked to your seesaw homepage. How does that work when a student selects seesaw. Do they get into your seesaw, will they have to login everything to their seesaw?
There are different ways to get them to the sign-in step that are probably better than my button. If your district allows apps in Canvas, you can turn on the redirect tool to go to Seesaw or Classlink.
Thank you so much for the helpful tutorial! Quick question- Once I have inserted the buttons into a table on my homepage, is there a way to get the lines of the table to disappear? I'd like everything to stay lined up, but not have a frame around it :)
Hi! So glad I found your videos on Canvas! Do you have a video that shows the flow of how a student would arrive at the home page and then progress through the work for that day? Can we see the teacher view of this as well. I'm a completely new Canvas user.
Could you do TH-cam tutorials? I am struggling with making videos for my students and TH-cam has been a struggle for me as well. I LOVE your videos and have used your Canvas tutorials to help me a TON. Thank you for all of your work and thinking of the rest of us who need extra help.
You are so cute to ask that, but my FAVORITE TH-cam helper is Sunny Lenarduzzi! Watch my video on using the PowerPoint Recording toolbar first, and then go watch her.
I love your personality! You are very lively, which I appreciate! Is it possible to create a bitmoji virtual classroom for little learners as the homepage in Canvas?
I’m trying to follow along but my canvas looks a little different when I go to link the buttons to something. I took a pic but I don’t know how to post it.
I love your videos far more than my district trainings! I’m adding my buttons but when I go to copy a logo (as you did with Seesaw) I can’t paste it into the table. My edit view looks different. Help!
I am on a Chromebook. I cannot copy the button I made from Da Button Factory, drag and drop on to the page, or upload it from my computer. :( How do I get the button to my page?
Thank you so much for these videos! I can not copy and paste a picture from google onto my buttons. Send help! haha I have tried everything I can think of!
Please don't tell people to use tables for formatting like this. Tables are not accessible for screen readers. Sorry to be a downer but accessibility is the law.
@@lolleys Wow, did you really just say that? I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds you hard to follow. I should not have to change the settings or constantly back up to listen again. Instruction should be done at a proper pace. Definitely unsubscribing.
What buttons are you using on your homepage as a result of this video? Comment below and let me know.
Class DOJO for a start.

My university students will be much happier with their online course experience this semester, thanks to you Ms. Lolley. Thanks so much 🙌🏿
What works for the littles often works for the big kids too. Glad I could help:)

This is a gem.
Still rewatching in 2022! Thank you

Yes, buttons can link to anything. Just use the sidebar after you highlight your button.

Thank you so much. This was so helpful.
Loving your very helpful videos. After you make a home page, you can go back and edit it, correct? Please continue with these videos!!
Yes you can! You're most welcome.
Very Helpful!

Click on table properties and change the border outline to 0.
What Tracey said:)

Hey Susan, I would check out my videos called "Simplifying the Sidebar" and "Organizing with Modules."
How did you add the names for the birthday announcement? By the way you are a life saver!

Thanks for the sweet words:) I made another video about adding a Bitmoji classroom. Search my channel for it, and if you can't find it, let me know.

So helpful!!
Thank you for this mam...take care#bitoys
Hello! How do you remove the black lines on the table? Thanks so much!
Same question...can I move the buttons or get rid of the table outline?
Click on table properties and change the border outline to 0.
Live instruction in Canvas?
Not sure what you're asking:) Feel free to email suzylolley@gmail.com

@@lolleys No, but I can try it. Thank you.
Thank you (and all God's creatures and traffic) so much!!! This was SO helpful! =)
So sweet:)
how do I remove the table outline.
Click the table, and then go to TABLE PROPERTIES, ADVANCED, and change the border thickness to zero.
Please turn up your volume on video
Thanks so much for sharing! :)
And thank you for watching:)
If you see a blink you have a link! 🤗
Thank you!
Thank you so much for these videos! I can not copy and paste a picture from google onto my buttons. Send help! haha I have tried everything I can think of!
I heard the same thing from someone else using a Chromebook. Maybe just use the word and an emoji and link that instead?
Love DA BUTTON
